vBulletin on your pc (Best and easy way)
The fastest way to put vBulletin on you pc and installing the webserver
You only have to download one thing Here it Goes!!! STEP 1 Download: Easy Php 1.6 Install it :) STEP 2 Go to where you have installed it normally it is (C:/Program Files/Easyphp) Then press easyphp.exe the server will start automatic Now in the directory www in (C:/Program Files/Easyphp) You can upload your content or a fresh vBulletin as a test board Visit it at http://localhost/ And for you mysql(phpMyAdmin) Visit it at http://localhost/mysql/ And set up everything there For me it worked out perfect always for an test board (offline) If you wanna have a http:// adress for other friends to view your forum Then go to DynDns Register an account for FREE Make a adress and point your ip now your done Show the adress to your friend if you wanna let him see that NOTE: You must be online and the server must be on That's it everything on this list is free :knockedout: Thnx PSI|Dr-X |

Another one of the phptriad kinda things :p
At least it makes it more easier for the n00bies to install php, apache and mysql :) Thanks for the tip - miSt |
Yeah but that is difficult for n00bs i had already seen that but this way is a lot faster and easier
|
Yeah but you learn more if you do it manuelly
|

You will do it manually, so my method will get you familiar with those options. |
I know it doesnt work al the time but for me its perfect maybe that im running
windows 2000 proffesional that is based for such things als websites apaches ... |
I like to test my board on my lcoal server with the newest versions of php and mysql, and other software, but what I have noticed as Teck stated is these all in one packages do not have the updated, bug fixes/security fixes.
Good tut though! |
I must say that the thread title is a bit misleading, as the best way is to install apache, php and mysql by downloading and...*drumroll*...installing them. :)
If you want a good setup of the three, I recommend having a look at TECK's guide (link in post 2 of this thread) that is pretty easy to understand, even for n00bs. :p |
