vB Experience 3.8 Upgrade to 4.0! PLEASE!

Could someone for the love of god please upgrade vbexperience in the 3.8 threads to 4.0?

Our site desperately needs it!

Thanks!!

Please ask this in the thread of the modification in question.

PS Nobody but the original author can update it to vB4 and release it.

I did ask in the oriiginal thread, but the author hasnt responded for 5 months already and he hasnt been online for the past 4 months.

It appears to be dead, and if a mod IS dead, it means no one can continue supporting it? It has to be left dead?

Just wondering.

Yes, that is correct. Only the developer may upgrade and release the modification as he has the copyright on his code. You may upgrade your own copy *for your own use*, but you may not share it at all.

Well I don't know how to code, is it allowed that someone can upgrade it for me and we both won't share it?

I really need this mod.

If you post a Paid Request and someone upgrades it for your use only, then that is fine. Please see this notice - Requesting modification upgrades to vBulletin 4.0

Yeah, vBExperience has hit alot of us as not being supported. Author logged in resently, but no onger supports vBExperience. But, the author does support other mods they have written.

I think everyone should donate to vBExperience author if they truly care about the modification. I have sent in money last year to the author, but I think they need a reason to want to come back and support the product. Maybe to many freeloaders complain? Maybe that is why he stopped supporting their code? :(

I run 3.8.4 P2, but maybe those who want a 4.0.x release should donate to the authtor enough money to buy the $250USD upgrade.

Note: The vBExperience author does not have 4.0.x on their site.

If donations would be what is needed to get a vB4 version, then it is not really a free modification anymore and should have no place on vBulletin.org.

Yes, but I think issue that needs to be overcome is not that the coder has commercial interests, but that the coder does not have vb4. Meanwhile over 2.600 boards have installed vbexperience and use it as an integral aspect of their site. vbexperience will stop a lot of boards from upgrading to vb4.
It seems to me that the value of vbexperience to IB is far more greater than the value of one license.

I have read more comments by addon coders that will not upgrade their modifications to vb4, because they can't pay for it. I suggest to vb.org and IB that the solution to this is simple (at least for those coders that have a lot of installs):

Give something back to the coding community.

So you're telling me that I HAVE TO pay someone to code it for me? I can't just ask someone to code it for me for free and even if they would approve of doing it for free?

Kinda sounds like a rip-off to me, no offense.
