Product's posted in Template Mod's

Ok i've only noticed this recently but why are there an awful lot of mods that are in fact a product being posted in the template modifications forums. I personally find this annoying as i don't browse those forums when looking for new mods that may be useful to me and my forum. I don't understand why they should be posted in those forums, so yes they may still just do the job of a template mod but when it's delivered as a product then in fact you aren't touching the templates hence these not being template mods. It also annoys me when i'm looking purely for any kind of template mod that may be good to implement in a style, that when you find that it is in fact a product and not a template mod.

I believe these products shouldn't be posted within the template mods forums or the forums themselves should be renamed for better clarity.

I agree, but maybe you should see the complaint department, headed by Helen Waite :)

Please "report" these modifications. That way, the staff can take a look at these modifications and move them to the correct forum.

If you feel a modification is out of place, you can use the report button and the staff will evaluate its placement.

Edit: Yeah - what King said. :p

Well for me it's far too many that are being placed in this section anyway. Plus it is also staff that are doing this. I just thought it should be brought up and addressed to make for easier searching, it's not a complaint just something i would prefer not to see happen.

Or is it that i'm wrong and that you allow products to be posted within the template mods section?

Guest190829 03-25-2008 03:48 PM

Can you please post a link to an example of what you are talking about?

Butcher 03-25-2008 03:58 PM

ok an example
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=158055

this is a product, yes i understand that all it's doing is adding to templates but with it being a product your not actually modifying the template.

If it is in the correct forum then maybe we should be more clear on this. Don't mean to bother people i'm probably just being piccy :)

Butcher,

Still feel free to click on the "Report" button and say that you think it is in the wrong forum. :) Staff will go look at it (usually rather quickly too) and take action.

To be honest, I cannot recall why it's there.
I agree - it does not belong in Templates.

woops... Joe is always too occupied with everybody complaining on this site to be able to locate his own hacks in the right place.. lol
