Isn't this kind of hypocritical?

That somehow, I've seen two free forum hosts use vBulletin as their support forum software so far, but they give out for free really rubbish hosted forums? Anyone else think it seems they have pretty much said that their services suck and vBulletin rules?

That's not a bad thing, just it's something that must somewhat bring up parallels with Microsoft not using FrontPage being one of the reasons why the program is rubbish. Just find it ironic that some hosts want customers to sign up for something they themselves aren't using...

But yeah. It's an obvious win for Jelsoft either way, but they may as well put a notice on their front page telling prospective customers to go buy vBulletin instead...

Me-speaka-inglish...

Just the fact that I can't judge them on their desicion to do so, if I say yes I don't think it makes a difference...

They aren't bad ppl just because I say so Mr Boofo ;)

I... I... don't know what to say to that. I have always taken everything you said as gold. My world is gone as I know it now. :(

actually, as it is impossible to be reseller for vBulletin, i don't see the link with what they distribute... most of the host we know use Sympatico and that shit provide phpBB and Postnuke freely... so that's sure to be a bad idea to evaluate a host by the packages they offer for free...

the day the webhosts will start resell vBulletin in their packages, we will stop having clients asking if this or that host is good on hosting vB... l)

I didn't mean they distribute vBulletin, I mean they offer free forum hosting but use vBulletin for their support forums. Basically, they offer a product/service they themselves don't actually use. It's like Jelsoft using Invision Power Board on their website.

Don't worry... s**t happens :D

sometimes you make things more complicated that they do cheat-master.. lol

offering free hosting is not opposite to use a paid software... imagine if the owner just had in hands an old license of vbulletin for another site... you never know.

;)

btw, most of the free hosts i know are also offering paid services on another site because they have a large target...
