I try it on my test forum (3.8.0) and this options works... (chat ver. 2.1.0). First I turn it off, and chat was gone. Then I turn chat ON again and chat is displayed again..... So, on my test forum this working well....

It wont let me move this chatbox above my other chatbox.. only below navbar... how do I move it somewhere else on forumhome???

Let me rephrase... I want to put the variable to display the shoutbox in inferno_shoutbox_box template - even after modifying the plugin to do this, it will not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reverted back, and it displays below navbar, which is not a good place on my custom templates!!!!!

after removing the chatbox, the custom permissions still reman, is there a fix or a way to totally remove all traces of the mgc chatbox?

You uninstalled without following the readme. ;)

Delete all the files, it's probably the xml file. If that doesn't work, reinstall, then this time follow the directions to uninstall and it will be fixed.

Try doing the language import again, there might have been a transient ;)

You have to edit the mgc_cb_evo template and then perhaps you could achieve that by tunning the table with chats (not sure of it) id.

Do you know that with my chatbox you can have permissions based channels ? And thus would be able to have one for your users and one for your moderators.

What you can do to put in the inferno template is to use the style issue fix and use the new var to put it where you want in the template. See what I mean ?

I like some things about your box, and some about the inferno shout box - and I have the pro of the inferno one...

And there are downsides to both boxes... A separate one is needed so the mods can see what users are writing at the same time as what the mods are writing without changing channels..

The style fix, how do you activate that? Because when I disable the display on forum home, and put the variable in, nothing happens...

After sending a private chat, then clicking on the dropdown next to my avatar of that Private Chat. the selection contains editing links for the person you sent the PC to and not for the person who sent it.

It still functions correctly, just confusing for the user.

The one in the readme says just to put the variable in, and I did that, but nothing happens unless the shoutbox is activated on forumhome..

In some styles, you can encounter display problems because the chatbox uses an automatic insertion system in the templates based on specific variables that might not be present in your styles.

If you encounter such problems, follow these few steps (my example is based on the display of the chatbox at the bottom of the forum page but you can easily transpose it to another position causing problems):
Go into the plugin manager of your admin control panel.
Edit the plugin Chatbox display on forumhome.
Replace $find = '$forumhome_markread_script';.

Finally, go in the style manager and edit the FORUMHOME template.

another feature I like for infernoshout, all you have to do is insert the damn variable wherever you want it to show up....

And obvious bugs are annoying: Chat does not always show up in the right order!!!!

When I had vbulletin 3.74, I installed this mod , uninstalled it, upgraded to vbulletin 3.8 and now when I change any settings in a usergroup and save it I get a database error... saying" MySQL Error : Unknown column 'mgc_cb_evo_permissions' in 'field list'"

I notice that in the usergroups that the "MGC Chatbox Evo : Custom permissions" options are still there. How can I fully uninstall this mod? In plug-in/Products "Manage Products" it shows that it is not installed.

Hmmm - after doing the 2.1 upgrade there's a strange problem.

Entire Chatbox stays empty for IE users - Opera & FF work fine. The archives work and all chats are shown, still IE users have an empty Chatbox.

There're no JS errors, mod_sec reports nothing as well and the Webserver / PHP logs reports nothing as well. :confused:

EDIT: Problem solved ;)

Problem was that is was set to retrieve the YUI components NOT from the site itself. So Users of a better IE configuration using the Zone Settings to whitelist sites, setting their security settings to "High" for the default Internet Zone will have a problem with external JS code.
The same applies to Noscript Users of Firefox who whitelist the Board URL.

Yup - that's it. No mod_sec / suhosin problems.

Related to mod_sec & VB - like mentioned in this thread to disable it - do NOT do it. Instead, run it in Detection Mode whitelisting files as required. :)

I noticed that when I installed it , the scroll bar is appeared on the Firefox and IE8 too!

In IE 8 - I got this message:
Ajax Error: an error has occurred in an Ajax request of the chatbox , please report your admin.

And always, I see (Loading) message on the chat box and no word appeared when I write any things!
