When I click[List users] one of the usernames appears as "dam&chrys" .... it appears as it should elsewhere on vB as it should "dam&chrys". How do I fix this?
Just a minor niggle though, the plugin in A1... THANKS  |
List users - where?
Seems like overzealous HTMLizing to me - one would have to change some of the plugin code to fix that. |

Well good news. I took it upon myself to see if I could get this mod to work on vb4 and I'm happy to report that it's about 85% there. So far I've got the map display working including current user locations, location set, location delete, and online/offline. All the settings also seem to be working (well at least as good as they did in 3.8.4).
Not working: Enabling the small overview map makes user markers quit working (did this to me on 3.8.4 too), Turning on mouseover makes user markers stop working (did this to me on 3.8.4), Member List shows the right number of entries but all the data is blank, no map link in the Community menu, and no "Find Me" link in the post headers. I'll keep plugging away at it until I get it all working. I also need to figure out how to do the product installation part of it as well. |
Great to hear this being worked on by someone. My members really liked this hack and miss it now we are on VB4

Yeah, My members too which is why I decided to give it a try. I have the list users function working now and the mouseover seems to be working. The small overview map still causes the markers to not show up though. Also I need to work on getting the "find me" link working again.

ckgreenman, thanx so much.
Any opinion of the fixes that I'd made? I think that they are worthy of inclusion in some future version of vbGoogleMap. I'll hunt them down here if you want them. |
I must have missed your fixes. Shoot me a PM with some details. I can't imagine it would be all that hard to add stuff.

Ok I talked with StonyArc and even though he is working on an OFFICIAL vB4 release he has authorized me release my vB4 version of this mod (3.0.1-vb4 for lack of a better version).
INSTALL: 1. To Install, unpack the contents of the zip file onto your computer. 2. Upload the contents of the "upload" directory AS IS so that the vbgooglemapme.php file resides in your forum root 3. In AdminCP go to "Manage Products" and click the "Add/Import" link at the bottom. 4. Under "Import Product", click the "Browse" button and specify the "product-vbgooglemapme.xml" file. 5. Click "Import" To UPGRADE from 3.0.1 (if it's still installed after you upgraded to vB4): 1. In AdminCP, go to the VBGooglemapME Settings and record your googlemap API key, 2. In AdminCP, go to the "Manage Products". 3. Scroll down to VBGooglemapME and uninstall the product. (user markers are not deleted so existing markers) 4. Unpack the zip file. 5. Upload the contents of the "upload" directory. (The only files that changed are vbgooglemapme.php and incluces/functions_vbgooglemapme.php so copying those is sufficient) 6. import the new product file. 7. Go to VBGoogleMapME Settings and put in your googlemap API key (and any other settings). Note: The permissions will not be correct when you upgrade so you will need to rebuild the bitmask by visiting the Usergroup Manager. The masks should rebuild on their own but make sure your group permissions are as you need them. Also, the "Member Map" link resides on in the Community drop down menu which is visible when you click the "Forum" tab. NEW FEATURES: In addition to being ported to vB4 I added a few features that had been suggested on this thread. You can now select "Terrain" as a default map mode. Terrain is a selectable mode when viewing the map. You can now zoom the map using a Mouse Scroll wheel. If you have any questions regarding THIS VERSION please feel free to contact me here or via PM. Enjoy!! UPDATE: Apparently I missed one of the fixes that ZeroHour had posted so I'm uploading a new version that includes this fix. |
