I thought about adding a "most popular downloads this week" function in v6 :)

A timeline would be more difficult, then you should keep storing ALL the downloads in your downloads log. For large sites this is impossible.

That would be really good to have, most popular downloads this week.

I am having no problems with this in 3.6.4, works flawlessly.

Ack!

I tried to import this product and when it did, my whole forums have gone to white -- nothing. Any idea what happened? This is the ONLY thing I did.

edited to add:
Totally blank on FireFox.
I can see it on explorer, but I can't log in or get to the admin panel.

I had this same problem add another hack, whole site went white, couldnt log in to site or adminpc. I contacted vbulliten, they inreturn told me it was from a plugin I added and they dont support sites using mods not approved by vbulliten. But they did tell me to go to my site via ftp and to do the message below, but that didnt work. I then find out that somehow I overloaded my servers hard drive & it failed. To make matters even worse all my backups had corrupt files. Server hard drive was going bad way before I enter it. I tried everything to get it back, but ended up having to re-build. I lost 1000's, & 1000's of hours of work. Everything was rebuilt without being able to use any files from my old site folder, because they were corrupt. I was upset needless to say, but what could I do?
Listed below is what vbulliten.com told me to do, Hopefully this will help you pin point which plugin crashed your site. Good Luck.

from vbulliten:
Please disable all plugins on your board and tell us if the problem
persists.

Edit your config.php file and add the following line after <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then reupload config.php to your forum's includes folder.

As for reading line numbers, there ae several free programs that allow
this. My text editor of choice is TextPad. http://www.textpad.com

You should be able to log into your admincp, reactivate each plugin seperatly and refreshing your site after each reactivation to see if that particular plugin was the one causing the problem. Once you find it un-install it. Good luck, Hope this will help you out.

Thanks so much! My web admin restarted the server and it seemed to help. now I'm scared to reinstall the Downloads II, but they are really an important part of our site so I guess I'll give it a try.

Very nice mod would like to use it but befor i install this can any one confrem this works for version 3.6.4?

blind-eddie 01-19-2007 07:29 PM

I use it on 3.6.4 , no problems

cookiepants 01-20-2007 02:56 AM

Okay. My web provider rebooted the server. Then I uninstalled the previous version of Downloads II. I reinstalled it, and all is well. However, it no longer recognizes the directory of downloads. The path is:

/public_html/b/downloads/

Then for the Download URL, I put in for the relative path:
/downloads
and I get:

Quote:

Warning: is_dir() [function.is-dir]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/downloads/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/sewmama/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /downloads.php on line 157
If I put:

Then I get:
Quote:

The download directory does not exist!
I have these files in this folder, which I chmodded to 777. They are all .pdf files. I can link to them directly so I know they are there.

Any help? Thanks ever so much!! :o
