I just found this and plan on installing it. I took a look at vbJournal, and it says it's in beta, and not to use it woth PHP 5? Is it still in beta? I have php 5, am I going to have a problem? Should I use a different journal?

I don't think there is a different journal
You really don't need one unless you have to have one, And I hear its very buggy on 3.6

So each of the hacks the instructions say to download are optional? I can skip the Journal and install something else instead if a good one comes along?

I'm doing this for my customer, not my own site. I think he would like to add the Journal. Would you know vbJournal is still being worked on, or is no one upgrading it for new versions?

I did. While no one has a definitive answer, it's not being supported, it hasn't been worked on in over a year, and you could interpret what's on the sight as indicating the developer is done with it.

Over half the modules in the list are not being supported. I'm new here. Is it common to use unsupported modules? Will this mod's developer be looking for replacements to the recommended ones as they become less usable over time?

Are these hacks needed for MySpafe profile, or do they just supplement it?
