The max version is the minimum version for which the incompatibility will begin. Try setting this to 5.0 instead of 4.2.5. :)

Yeah that helped. However. 7.88 seems incompatible with the Recent Thanks add-on?

Hello, I have two questions:

1) The 7.84+ is the only version that works perfectly in vB 4.2.5?
2) How I can change the image size of the left of word "Thanks"?. For default is 16x16 pixels...

Is it possible to hide this hack for some usergroups? Some of my users dont like it very much, but I don't want to deinstall it.

This plugin probably is not compatible with php 7.1. When I upgrade my site to php 7.1, thanks buttons give an error starting with "[]operator not supported for strings online..."

I hope it will be resolved.

In my work, with vb 4.2.5 works fine.
I need edit one file, and reverse 2 templates.

But works fine, what error have you?

Trying to figure out how to install it - I'm completely new to VBulletin. I have these instructions with the initial download but I still am not really following where does post_thanks.php go?

Post Thank You Hack version 7.7

FOR UPGRADE AND FRESH INSTALLATIONS!

1) upload the 'upload via ftp' folder
--------------------------------------------------------------------
post_thanks.php -> \
post_thanks_admin.php -> \admincp\
post_thanks.js -> \clientscript\
functions_post_thanks.php -> \includes\
cpnav_post_thanks.xml -> \includes\xml\
hooks_post_thanks.xml -> \includes\xml\
post_thanks.gif -> \images\buttons\ (and into EVERY "buttons" folder in every style you have)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Import product-post_thanks.xml into PRODUCTS. Allow Overwrite "YES" (admincp -> Plugin System -> Manage Products -> [Add/Import Product])

Click 'install' in the thread you downloaded this from.

All of those files need uploading via ftp, its the contents of the of the upload folder that need Ftp'ing to your forum directory so up to public_html\forum or to www.\forum where forum will be the name of your forum folder. You don't need to place anything anywhere yourself, FTP is intelligent uploading and follows the structures laid out in both the upload folder and the destination folder.

You only import the product_postthanks.xml (or whatever the name) via the forum admincp.

7.88 appears to work with 4.2.5, however, you have to open product-post_thanks-7.88.xml and change maxversion to "4.2.6" or it will fail the dependency check and won't install.

Hello!

I tried to install it on 4.2.5, I edited the XML and was able to install the product, but when I try to thank, I get this error:

Open XML post thanks file via an editor like notepad++
In the first lines, you see dependencies lines. Change the related value to 4.2.5 (max-version or version)
