Aaa one step at a time! What I will be doing first is making a new importable hoster file that you will upload to your includes/xml folder. This new hoster file will allow you to import swf or flv files. You will have to create your own thumbnail file as well. The title and description fields as well as tags will have to be all entered manually.

I will have this hoster file ready in a couple of weeks.

This hoster file will need to be edited before it is uploaded. You will need to input your server info to where you have created a video folder where all your ftp uploads must be stored.

Next step I agree an embed code hoster would be great. But like I said first I have to code what I need the most and that is self hosted videos. :D

Does the usergroup permission works fine with you guys?
I tried to set usergroup permission for "unregistered" to "view video only" but they are still able to view video details.

After you install this plug-in member profile error is the error code I'm wondering how you add can be repaired.

Another dumb question - I want to rename the title of the navbar link from 'Video Directory' to something else. Which file is that title located in so I can edit it?

I am surprised, given how cool a mod this is and how long it's been around, that a couple of basic issues haven't been addressed.

First of all, no matter what I do (and I'm not alone - there must be at least 5 other references to this issue in this thread), I cannot get member avatars to show with comments. Don't tell me again to create a folder, etc...none of that has worked. I'm on 3.8 btw... There's clearly something wrong in terms of having the standard member avatars show with comments. If anyone has clear directions on how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated! Seeing that stupid '?' in place of a great avatar just doesn't cut it :)

Secondly, maybe I'm just ignorant, but I cannot figure out how to add a hoster. Even where, as with Veoh, an xml file is provided, there are no instructions anywhere I can see as to what to do with it and how to 'add' a video site.

Finally, why can we not add an image or banner to the custom text atop the Video Directory - other bb codes work but the image tags will not. That's just strange?

This is a great mod - I'm not unappreciative - but it could be so much better if the the mod-creator (or someone else that's knowledgeable) would jump in and provide some help. There are way too many questions in this thread that have been asked over and over with no good solutions. Come on people - this mod could be money with a little help!

How can I add videos? There is no link that allows me or my members to add videos.

You have to go to a category to see the clickable link to add a video (the first category is 'General' until you create more).

Then, it's time for Vodpod.com included.
