Hi, I was just wondering is it possible to add a "Date Updated" feature? So that people will know when an items been updated with a new file?

Also, is it normal for this addon to add more an more files when you do edit and add an updated version of the file?

Cos I just uploaded a new build of an item on my downloads list an I connected to the FTP site to look an saw 2 copies of the same file but with different random number thingy at the start.

I installed this mod, all well but I view that, when I go (or users) to Downloads, the icon of downloads contain the link/icon: In the package of Downloads II not contains this image and I don't know if I need add this image/icon or if I can the patch.

That image isn't used anywhere in the DownloadsII code. It's only using /images/buttons/download.gif ;)

There's a problem: comment doesn't work for me when adding new file and viewing file

When i upload a file with 242k, i received this error:
"Maximum Upload Limit would be Exceeded by this file. Try a smaller file."

And, can i upload a file using ftp and display at download page?

we have a wee problem with our downloads

vb 3.8.2
downloadsII 5.1.0

We can´t move files to another category.
Everytime we try through edit the files are gone.

The following warning is shown:

"Warnung: copy(./downloads/http://) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/downloads.php (Zeile 704)
ERROR: File not found."

As with most mods, there are fees or donations that need to be made in order to remove branding.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there no legal way to remove the branding from this mod?

Hi guys, Last night i managed to break this mod.

I dont know what ive done tbh but now, everytime i click on the "downloads" it reopens to the homepage with cmps but "downloads" in the white bar below navbar.

Last night i added: a tag cloud to cmps, the downloads stats to cmps, a new site navigation to cmps. nothing really major but may have over written a portal or something with the site nav mod.

Ill try disabling cmps and see if its a mod on there thats doing it.

Any help would be appreciative.

I disabled cmps and its working, so i dont know what ive done on the cmps, but can anyone tell me how i can reset it to how it used to be before i added anything, do i need to delete any tables or whatever.

I'm having an issue after uninstalling this mod.

If I go to my downloads.php page on my site, http://glitchpc.com/downloads.php, I get a 404 error code. No problem there.

However, if I go to a previous file location, such as http://glitchpc.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=10, then it displays a blank page.

I'm going to be re-installing this when the developers have updated it, but at this time...I uninstalled it and I'm not sure why the page is loading blank if the mod has been uninstalled.

I've installed all without problems and made the correct permission on the download folder.
In the admin cp i can modify the sub-sec Settings, but when i try to modify the Categories, Import or Downloads section i have a error about "The page cannot be found".
Any help?

Ok i have found two problems so far..Can you explain this to me and see we can find a sollution

1. when im trying to import a file from admin section im getting this error

my direct forum path accounrding to the import /home/lateadul/public_html/PracticeForum/forum/admincp/
but when i try to change it i still get the error

2. when i upload a 100 mb file it just takes almost 20 mins to upload. I had to stop the upload because it keeps on
trying to upload and never upload

my .htaccess is set to
php_value upload_max_filesize 500M
php_value post_max_size 500M

Ok i finally got a 100mb file uplaoded but uploading the file from admin still gives errors. Also when i did upload a file from the user side the file dosent show up in the admin under downloads.

can you give step by step instructions on how to select multiple files? This isnt making much sence to me at all

Resolved my own issue by re-installing this mod.

going to unistall this mod. I have no idea why would this mod be MOD for..Not enough support.

1. No or hardly any support
2. Why would integraate the download in navbar menu? I have no idea how to remove that link. Gave up for looking
3. Too many errors

There's a manual on importing files in the second post ;)

1. I have exams at university next month :)
2. There's an easy "Show Navbar Button" option in the downloads settings. Nothing difficult about finding it. You can enable/disable all important features there.
3. That's a server configuration problem, not a DownloadsII problem. If you can't upload large files with DownloadsII, you also can't do it with the vB attachment system. Just check your server configuration (there are lots of posts in this thread about the .htaccess thing etc.).
4. There's a copyright because it's our work and we do it for free. vBulletin itself also has a copyright and it's commercial software.
Why can't you remove it? Because DownloadsII is based on ecDownloads (its coder left vB.org and the mod contained security issues) and the ecDownloads license requires this. Because of this v6 will be a full recode.

I will restart working on the code at the end of june. Probably some smaller releases will be coming first and I'm looking forward to vB 4 (which will contain cross content search and the new asset manager).

I have a few suggestion, if it's already been suggested I do apologize.

Search: The searching for the downloads section is fine, but it's not that great. When searching for a file, if you have the same name for more than 1 category, it displayed the same name. Maybe you can have it pull the main category instead of the child category. This way people who which file or file(s) these are coming from.

Mirrors: I know people have suggested this and you guys are working on that. Just wanted to add I would also like to see it. :)

Author: When posting files, if the author isn't signed up on the site prior to you addin the file, they aren't recognized. This is a big issue, cause I will then have to go and search for all the authors files, edit and post so it displays a link to his/her profile. Maybe add an option to run updates or have a cronjob automatically update those at set times.

Author List: I would like to personally see an authors list ie. if I look up a file or file(s) it will bring up all the file(s) made by that specific author.

Again, if any of those have been addrested, I do appologise for not searching. I hope you do consider a few or all of these. :) Keep up the good work and I look forward to the updates.

what permissions need to be edited to allow unregistered users to view the downloads area? I want anyone to be able to download but you must be registered to upload a file.

Currently just looking at the downloads.php without logging in says you don't have permission to view this page.

Just check the usergroup permissions of the Unregistered users group? There's a "Can View Files" permission :)

Hello yes thats all great. I finally got to upload a 90G file but it took about 20 mins. So no worries there. I did find the link to the navbar. I just cant believe i missed it. Well keep up on your education since that does come first.

What would be nice is

1. See a upload status bar of some kind
2. be able to use a different server instead of downloading from my main server.

I got the same issue. Everytime I set an option in a usergroup and save in duplicates. It does that only with this Mod.

Probably there's another mod interfering with DownloadsII. Which mods you installed are using a admin_usergroup_ hook location (look at the plugin manager)?

So in other words, you can't pay for removal because it's not his copyright to make money off of. A not too uncommon occurrence here on vB.org.

This is why I say folks should make sure they understand everything about a situation before criticizing people over it. Not everything that can be done by other coders can be done by all coders.

Just wandering but how can I edit the template that displays the latest files? I have managed to edit the one for the most popular files by editing downloads_panel_bit. But how can I edit the one for the latest files. All I want to do is make the text smaller and maybe add a hyphen before the file name.

They are both using that same template for the bits. Try clicking "Update Counters" to empty the cache.

Hello..what im trying to do is set it were users has to pay for my download service. People that pays will be able to upload and download unlimited. Now if a user dosent pay they can only upload and download something like 5mb. Is this possable?
