You know what would be cool, a user definable playlist..

trafix 02-11-2005 01:54 AM

hmm, i have been thinking about member faves :)

i was talking about you releasing the mod that is above your jukebox ... it look great :)

dhurd 02-11-2005 02:17 AM

Man sometimes I am really thick in the head! My problem with running the installer was I was clicking on the "Generate Files" check box. By reading the description I thought it had to be checked in order for the install to work. I'll let you in on a little secret, the installer saves a LOT of work. :D
Any way, it works now and the install button shall be clicked. It's a great hack and obviously a lot of work went into developing it. Thanks for your help Trafix. It was greatly appreciated, especially when I see a lot of hacks that have problems and the developer just seems to disapear. You have taken a lot of time to modify the code to what others want and have spent a good deal of effort in helping people get the hack working.
Kudos to ya!

Dan

thanks for adding "option 2" to the remote song hosting in the instructions... I hate to be a pain but is it possible to make it a conditional, or separate option to allow both hosted and remote files, instead of either/or? Maybe 2 input boxes in the ACP- one for remote URL's, and one for the file path to the Server?

trafix 02-11-2005 03:13 AM

Hehe ... well at least you got it working .... tnx for your comments :)

ok for permissions you have to go to the usergroup menu and select the manager .... then edit each group acordingly, the jukebox permissions are at the bottom of the page.

yep ... forum/media ..... or whatever you want to call it

Blam Forumz 02-11-2005 05:49 AM

Check it out now... added a login feature.. prompting you to register if your not a member, once your a member and logged in, it gives you info on the Jukebox.. whats playing, top 10, etc..

If I clean up the code and put a little work into it, I'm going to release it as a add on for the jukebox.. any good names you got for it? like the hot box for the juke box, LOL or some thing ?

OH and do songs uploaded goto the Media Folder you have set in vb_jukebox under vb options? if so, upload aint working for me, I have the path set with the exact URL "http://path" is that correct?

trafix 02-11-2005 07:43 AM

ummm, yeah i spose :)

damn you have some songs on the sucker ;)

trafix 02-11-2005 08:02 AM

trafix 02-11-2005 08:35 AM

ill start with the easy one :) ...
in the vb options area of the admincp has to be configured ...... you can turn it on there

use "manual data entry" for large songs ... upload them to your music folder with your ftp client and then enter the data in the "manual data entry" section

trafix 02-11-2005 04:40 PM

Slow down SS ..... whats not working

S.Shady 02-11-2005 04:45 PM

ok. when i try to upload a mp3 file it says its to big. i upload one thats not to big and it doesnt show.

im lost on how to add songs. ill make it so guests can upload songs. i just dont know what to do. :(

trafix 02-11-2005 04:49 PM

have you activated the song in the track list?

trafix 02-11-2005 04:51 PM

have you created a folder called "media" and set the permissions to 777

Blam Forumz 02-11-2005 04:55 PM

i thought its supposed to be called midi :/

thats what it says in instructions

trafix 02-11-2005 04:59 PM

it can be called whatever you like ... but the folder name must be in the vb options "media folder"

WiseOwl 02-11-2005 06:37 PM

Hmm.. is there away to show who's viewing the jukebox, like printed out in vb_jukebox.php "There are * guests and * members browsing jukebox"

ericgtr 02-11-2005 07:53 PM

I have this installed and seeming everything is okay, paths are correct and no errors. However, when I uploaded a song (manually) it will not play from the regular vb_jukebox.php page. It works fine in the admin after I uploaded it to the proper folder but when I click on it in the vb_jukebox.php page nothing happens, no errors, just nothing. I've also set my permissions.

Blam Forumz 02-11-2005 08:10 PM

S.Shady 02-11-2005 09:05 PM

ericgtr 02-11-2005 09:31 PM

Blam Forumz 02-11-2005 09:35 PM

by the looks of it you ahvent spcified a forumid in the vb options

ericgtr 02-11-2005 09:39 PM

Correct, I am not exactly sure what that means because it's not very clear. Will it announce it in a forum? I just want to test and not advertise ityet. Also, is this the reason the songs will not play when clicked on? Nothing happens, it acts like it's trying to open in a new window (popups allowed on my browser) but nothing happens.

trafix 02-11-2005 11:54 PM

@WiseOwl - I will have to work out how to do a "WOL" for the juke.

@ericgtr - Yet you have to enter a forumid in the options for song announcenents ... and are you still having problems with the songs not playing? Can you give me a link to your jukebox and a test account... PM me if you want.

@Blam Forumz - yep you can change the size of the media player on line 411 of the vb_jukebox.php script you can edit the height and width there.

@S.Shady - again Can you give me a link to your jukebox and a test account... PM me if you want.

I think i answered everyone

trafix 02-12-2005 12:32 AM
