Thank you!!!

When I go to install this, it says that it cant find my license i.d. What does that mean and how do I fix it?

kewl1uk 02-20-2005 03:03 PM

Installed on the new 3.0.7 and works perfectly in Internet Explorer. But in Firefox the font colours in messages don't work, the font colour bar opposite the font names is only next to Verdana and the cursor over Send is the pipe (as when you place your cursor over text) and not the usual "hand" type.

Thank you for this add-on. Just what I was looking for.

HC. 02-22-2005 01:09 AM

just installed this and I am testing it had a user send a message and did not know it until I clicked on his name

Is there away that it would have a popup box that shows the message or did I do something wrong

HC. 02-22-2005 02:15 AM

never mind

imakuni? 03-04-2005 10:25 AM

Very cool mod, it works great!

TrentTech 03-09-2005 10:37 AM

I was wondering if there was a way to inter-link this between forums, ex. When a member of Ilex-Forest (Partly my forum) get's on BB|Messenger, they can chat with users that are online on BB|Messenger at Midnight Blaze (My freind's forum), but still have seperate links (http://ilex-forest.net/bbmessenger/index.php and http://midnightblaze.net/bbmessenger/index.php)

T3MEDIA 03-15-2005 11:36 AM

I know the response to this but I will post it anyway. I have made a program that does what this program does and more. Java based. Its a file you download. (Program) chat friends ect. in other words when you run this program you dont need to be on the bulletin board. that powerfull.

It was not made for vbulletin it was made for a differnt customer. If you guys are intrested I can make it for vb but I need funds. I have seen responses from things requested like this before so I know the answer.

Just thought I say it.
It would cost around 700$ to get done. (to pay the programmer) and it would be relased free of charge.

sounds weird but that is how it is. REAL screenshot attached. (yes it is real)

Marco van Herwaarden 03-15-2005 12:31 PM

@t3media,

Why do you have to hijack someone elses hack thread fo this?

If you want to get attention for your own programms, simply open a thread for yourself.

A lot of the posts i have seen you make in the last period are pulling down other peoples work, or their lack of support. What is the reason you're doing this? Try bringing forward your own strong points (like posting your own work) instead of highlighting other people weak spots.

I also would like to see a working demo before investing some money in it.

PLUS .. there is an option to churn out an integrated IM client which does vbulletin messaging as well as others (AOL, MSN, etc). The open source clients already do all that. We just need to provide back end connectivity to VB.

Jabber would be great but that involves installing the server and other components. I find that kind of administration challenging. Have any of you actually set it up or on a virtuate private server?

aranthorn 05-16-2005 02:00 PM

Well, I just installed, did the cookie tweak and seems fine so far. THX for sharing the hack :D

Tigur 05-18-2005 09:50 PM

in the file /bbmessenger/style/messenger.html.php

find:
PHP Code:

window["chat_{$VAR["sitecode"]}_" id].focus();

and change it to:
PHP Code:

// window["chat_{$VAR["sitecode"]}_" + id].focus();

animate 05-23-2005 10:37 PM

Have installed but all users on this buddy list are displayed in the bbmessanger as Offline, but on the index site from vbb the buddys are online. i have installed on 3.0.6

Aj2005 05-30-2005 12:30 PM

Working nicely here, have it set up using the navbar js so it pops up straight away. Also added the relevant <if> tags to make it visable to members only. Great piece of coding, since we have an unlimited hosting package I have no complaints at all with regards to resource utilisation. Members love it, particularly for keeping in touch with admins when they need help.

dsboyce8624 06-03-2005 07:42 PM

Is it me, or does this weigh heavily on your server? I have a lower end box running my site, money, money, money, and I'm willing to upgrade it. i jsut want to know if the slow down when I open this is resources, or something I may have done wrong.

It does seem to work fine.

Dennis

PS - I'm also in favor of the Java system mentioned by Tom.

geezzaa 07-19-2005 10:18 PM

I love this prog ,
Can you help me out again please.
I want to add a link in the nav bar to run bb messanger when clicked, could you tell me how to do this please

madkidz 07-20-2005 12:48 PM

I tested it and for some reason other members cant recieve my bb messages. what could be the cause of that. I asked in the forum and it doesnt work for anyone.

yoyoyoyo 08-19-2005 02:46 AM

does this hack still work in 3.0.8? I amn reading varying results

I know that this post is old but I did not see a solution that addressed what was causing the problem.

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.8:

Invalid SQL:

What needs to be changed is in marquee.php line #38

Was....

Code:

// connect to the database and pull the info we need.

$latestposts = $DB_site->query("
SELECT threadid, forumid, title, replycount, lastposter, postuserid, postusername
FROM thread
ORDER BY lastpost
DESC LIMIT " . THREAD_LIMIT . ""
);

Changed to....

Code:

// connect to the database and pull the info we need.

$latestposts = $DB_site->query("
SELECT threadid, forumid, title, replycount, lastposter, postuserid, postusername
FROM vb3_thread
ORDER BY lastpost
