I have one question on currency. Can the user select a currency symbol that can be different for their own listing. e.g. USA in USD, UK in Sterling (?), Europe in Euro etc. Whilst this is not useful for searching on a plain number, it is useful for global community forums whose members are all over the world.

Well.... a brief message on how I'm planing to make currencies work. In Mary's version the user has the ability to set a price as number eg 10,000 and besides in another field to write the currency eg Kr. This was usefull for the poster but confused a lot the visitors. Imagine to see a listing of 10 only Ads each one in different currency. In your mind should be difficult to make calculations so you can see which is cheaper. That's why my mod will works with one only currency. This is the first step that I did. The second is to give again the seller the ability to post on his own currency, but should be a real time calculation to show the Ad to visitors in the default currency. Only when the user clicks on "Buy now" (when the online payments will be implement), only then he will see the sellers currency, but this is ok as it will be equaivalent to the price that he has in mind.

Thanks for the reply. The realtime conversion is of course the best way, perhaps an indicator that it is a conversion for those that are and/or you can display or click on something to see the sellers original price (not just when making a payment). Connecting in real time to a retail convertor is difficult. The online DB's of these are more bank rates and not what you or I would pay a bank for a conversion into our accounts. It would be useful if anyone has found an appropriate way to deal with this. I know I am being a little picky about it all).

Keep up the great work as this mod seems that it could be used by many people.

Mary's Classifieds is prohibited in domains (sites): In any site, having any tld extention (eg com, net etc etc)

does this mean we cannot install it on a .org

No...no... The exception are:

1. Domains with tld .no (Norway), .se (Sweden), .dk (Denmark), .fi (Finland).
2. Domains operating in Norgerian, Swedish, Danish, Finsh (any type of tld).

Some examples:

1. mydomain.com in Swedish language: prohibited
2. mydomain.com in English: Permited
3. mydomain.no or mydomain.se or mydomain.dk or mydomain.fi in any language: prohibited.

As general rule you can think that as long as your domain has nothing to deal with Scadinavia, you can use it.

Here is the daily update of Mary's Classifieds. This version:

1. Fixes some problems in admincp. At least the file not found errors, something that I believe that caused the other problems there. Sorry, I can't test it, as I've the Suite installed.
2. Fixes a database error when trying to Manage Thumbs while you haven't post any Ad.
3. I corrected the search listing. Now it respects your settings for Seller search (droplist or text inpute) and Location search (Droplist or text input).

To upgrade:

1. Download the latest zip file.
2. Upload files:
   1. admincp/microclassifieds_admin.php to your admincp
   2. classifieds.php to your forum directory
3. Import product_microclassifieds.xml

ok, soive been trying to upload the files to my server, using godaddy, but are we supposed to upload all the index.html files? it wont let me, says they are empty and cannot be uploaded... am I supposed to be doing something with them? thank you!

One small thing: changing the "Breadcrumb name" does not change the title in the navbar... not sure if it is a feature or a bug... :)

Also, would it be possible to add a on/off switch so that we can hide it from the navbar (instead of disabling the mod).

I've noticed this on the past few versions, but I can't find what is causing it to happen on in the classifieds scripts.

I've noticed it too, but is not something that I can help here. I'm using the stylevar blockhead which I believe that adds a border around.
In some cases I had also a table around, but even if I removed it, that border still exists, so I assume that it comes from vB.

I thought so too, but it only exists in the classifieds scripts. Other areas of the site where the blockhead is used don't have this problem. The border still exists, but the radius works, the radius doesn't seem to be working in the classifieds for some reason. There has to be something overriding it, but I can't find it.

I don't know what this is, but "Page Not Found" is showing up in the middle of the page.

Put this in your additional.css

It is not a VB issue, i can give my administrators permission to do anything else on the board, however there is not even an option to allow them to access the general settings of your add-on. Can you explain to me how this is an issue with vbulletin?

Administrators can access the other settings areas of your add-on, such as categories and blocks, but the general settings area tells them they do not have permission to access that page.

The "free version" was version 4.x.x, which IS compatible with vB versions prior to 4.0.7, but version 5.x.x, which is also known as the Pro version, is only compatible with vB 4.0.8 or newer. There is no paid version, if you read back through the thread, you will find that he released the Pro version for free, which is attached to his main post for download.

I don't have this problem, and I am an administrator in a non-standard usergroup (not usergroup 6).

There is 100% compatibility with Mary's original code. I just improvent it. A part that I changed is the PMs. Mary used to not "touch" vB native functions as a way to keep higher compatibility with the upcoming versions. I do agree with her, but at this point there was a missing feature (sending email to user about the new PM). That's why I changed it to use vB's datamanager.

I've checked all type of messages and work, but I'll try a check more. What seems strange to me is that "\n". Mary was using it as way to have a line break, but I removed them. So, I'm wondering if you've uploaded all the files.

I've already replied to this topic. You can easily delete them from the package and then upload the rest files. These files are there just to protect your site from directory listing. What FTP client are you using which does not upload zero size files?:confused:

You should not have to replace any index files unless you are updating the product. You should be uploading the file structure just the way it is in the zip file and the only three files that should be going in your forum root should be php files. The index files are found within the microclassifieds folder... and as far as I know, they shouldn't be touched.

As for the "Page Not Found" error that I mentioned earlier, that appears to be the voting block, and it only appears on my vB Suite installation, and not in the Forum "only" installation... much like the AdminCP menu problem that required CMS files.

I have had issues with getting this mod to work on my domain. My webtech fixed it but, said to pass this info along to the developer.

Hello I am using this mod but I appear to be having an issue exactly how are we suppose to create an ad as I see no option where a user can create an ad not in the navigation menu when you click on classifieds or in the profile when you click on classifieds? I have adjusted all the usergroup permissions so that they may create an ad but still does not work. Thanks in advance for your help.
