Hello I am trying to login however it doesn't work I checked my password in the Settings and copy & pasted it in my login box however that does not work either the page just refreshes.

jenniferj 03-11-2011 11:24 PM

Please tell me how to uninstall. I was actually going to purchase the software because I am having problems and posted to the VBSEO forums and got rejected because I did not purchase this mod. I don't understand this because it is here free and I was happy to pay. I need help uninstalling please. I no longer want this on my system because I can't get any help, I was accused of not paying, and I don't want to upgrade because I worry I won't get help then either.

Valerio 03-11-2011 11:51 PM

To uninstall just remove from the product manager on the adminCP then cancel the files that you install, if you want to know where they are and wich one are, just follow the upload folder as reference.

Then cancel also the string into the .htaccess.

vbseo does not support via ticket if you do not have a license.
To obtain the license you need to purchase vbseo.
If you wnat assistance you can post on the forum and wait that someone reply t your post.
I had a problem too before, but at the end i purchase the vbseo and I install vbseo and xml sitemap, until now seems to work smoothly.

jenniferj 03-12-2011 12:06 AM

Thank you very much. That's exactly what I needed. Do I delete htaccess too?

I did post on the forum and was swiftly told not to post and that they would persue legal action against me and the thread closed after just one post of mine in which I stated I needed help with the plug in and was willing to pay to upgrade as well. It doesn't sit well with me to say the least. Maybe they thought I was using someone elses license or a copy but I couldnt even post again to defend myself.

Valerio 03-12-2011 01:15 AM

No, if you have a customize htaccess you need to delete only the string that the instruction ask you to add, or use the default htaccess provided from vbulletin.

It seems strange, it does not make sense, can you please show us the post?

jenniferj 03-12-2011 02:16 AM

Sure, here is the post

http://www.vbseo.com/f48/im-new-48643/

I haven't customized any htaccess so I'm assuming it must just be from this plug in? The default from vb is located in the do not upload file.

grusy 03-12-2011 02:25 AM

@jenniferj

The vbseo mod on vbseo.com and this mod here are different products.
If you need support with this mod here, you have to ask here and not at vbseo.com.

jenniferj 03-12-2011 02:31 AM

Oh okay thank you. Now I know.

Valerio 03-12-2011 07:57 AM

Jennifer I do not want to defend vbseo ( i did not have nothing to do with them i'm just a customer) but on the post you talk about vbseo the product not the vbseo sitemap xml product that they are different product one is free the other one is under license.

So technically you ask assistance regarding a product that you do not have licence (as i understand) that is the reason about the reply.

Maybe if you explain yourself better you can have a support.
have a great day

When I generate sitemap it only finds "2" urls? forum and archive

BOSS 302 03-12-2011 04:09 PM

I need to create a sitemap with all my thread urls and stuff but this only generates 2 urls /forums and /archives what's the deal how do I generate a proper sitemap

EDIT: FIXED

New problem... When I create a sitemap it includes "www." with the URL's, but I don't want that it's cause errors in google sitemap submission. How do I prevent sitemap from including the "www"?

BOSS 302 03-12-2011 07:17 PM

Okay I fixed that issue myself too... My last question... Hopefully someone can actually HELP with this... Do I have to generate the sitemap manually every time new threads are posted for them to be included in sitemap?

Jennifer clearly stated that she needed help with their sitemap generator and not vbseo.
She DID post in the wrong section of vbseo forums though, that's why she received such little information.

I believe there is an option in the ACP, where you can specify how often you want the sitemap to be generated. I recommend you set it to at least every 2 days.

kamrandahir 03-14-2011 01:57 PM

No I don't see such an option. Where is it?

I submitted a sitemap though with 115 urls and only 1 is indexed. It's been that way for 3-4 days now. How do I get more indexed?

Is there something else I might of missed.

I see crawler bots on the forums all the time,
.crawl.yahoo.net
.googlebot.com

You should submit your sitemap to all 'webmaster' areas on the major search engines. They all have them.

Activity log will only track with vbseo also installed.

I am lost too. ive read all the thread 2x and searched in google for whole day for a solution for the 404 not found error for the example.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz .
Ive done all that what was described here like, check chmod 777 for all folders, if apache rewrite work, reinstalling mod, reupload .htaccess, check htaccess with blank except the rewrite code, rewritebase, check if sitemap_index.xml.gz exists in data folder=yes, ....
i need realy a solution for that error..

I have installed the plugin and added below to the bottom of my .htaccess:

Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

When I try to go to :

domain.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

I get a 500 Internal Error

Your server may not support mod_rewrite or isn't running apache. You will need to consult with your host to figure out what to do.

I'm typing www.mysite.com/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz and that's the error that I get.

I'm using Filezilla. When the directions say to install to the root directory, is the root directory listed as "remote site: / "??
I've attached a picture to where the .htaccess file is located. - also, when I open the .htaccess file that i uploaded to my server, the contents read:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]
- is that all it's supposed to say?

I haven't uploaded any other .htaccess files, so there shouldn't be any others interfering with this one, should there?

The sitemap needs to RUN via the cron/task at least once before the files will actually exist. Make sure that has happened.

You should be in the /public_html/ area, not in that directory if your forum is installed to .com/

The sitemap will only include public forums. If your site is close for guests, there's no point in having a sitemap either as bots can't read it.

The cron is installed with the product and runs every day at 2am by default.

Sorry for jumping the gun on you there. We get a ton of people using nulled versions asking for support and that is the only thing we can really do is shut them down and not support them. If they are using nulled vbseo, they are probably using nulled vb as well, which is why we send them here. .org requires you to verify your license status. We aren't a charity and need to eat/take care of our families too.

The vbseo.com forums are only for vbseo core customers. Any sitemap troubleshooting for non-vbseo customers should be posted HERE and we'll get to answer it when we can.

Full support for the sitemap is offered to our customers only on our forums/ticket areas. Non-customers will be pointed back to this thread for support.

If you're getting a 404 and

site.com/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=sitemap_index.xml.gz
loads directly, one of the following is happening:

1) the htaccess file/ rule isn't in place
2) the server doesn't support mod_rewrite
3) The server has AllowOverride set to off, there by disabling htaccess

yes this url loads correctly!
site.com/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=sitemap_index.xml.gz
content:

URL Last Modified

http://example.com/sitemap_forum_2.xml.gz 2011-03-17T02:33:36+00:00
1) the htaccess file/ rule isn't in place
the htaccess is in the root directory. also tested it with the original htacces from vbseo sitemap htaccess folder
2) the server doesn't support mod_rewrite
it is supported because other rewrite work also tested it with the testpage.html rewrite to google.com ...
3) The server has AllowOverride set to off, there by disabling htaccess
i dont know what that and how to enable. i can ask server manager to check it.

briansol 03-17-2011 02:19 AM

The file should be in your FORUM root, not necessarily your site root.

It should also come BEFORE any other rewrite rules, especailly a catch-all.

my site root is my forum root.
and how i said it also dont work with clear rewrite rule only the vbseo sitemap rewrite in it.:

HTML Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

should i set it to AllowOverride All ?

Yeah but on the older versions of sitemap for vbulletin I saw an option and it said by default it does something at 2AM but on this version don't see anything like that in the options. I'm not really sure what Cron is, but does that mean that it automatically regenerates the sitemap with NEW threads that have been posted since last manual generate? I checked the logs I don't see any signs of it doing this.

Ghostt 03-18-2011 03:53 PM

so there is no help for me? should i give up ? :(

compact 03-19-2011 11:08 PM

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole VBSEO so sorry for this NEWB question and have to clutter this thread with such a basic question but...

I have successfully uploaded this sitemap generator but the previous version one(i have 3.8.1 running).

1. Do i need to do something on my webmaster's control panel in google even if i have it checked for it to notify the SE's automatically? Right now it says i have no sitemaps in the google control panel even after the first scheduled sitemap was generated yesterday.

2. Do i leave all the generated sitemaps alone? Do i ever have to remove any of them for any reason?

Thanks guys, and thank you for the great add-on. Hoping to see a difference!

cloferba 03-20-2011 12:06 AM

I dont know why vbseo Search Engine doesnt index any of my forum posts and threads to the sitemap:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/03/14.jpg

why this? all forums and posts are unhidden

tidus78 03-20-2011 08:09 AM

I resolved making visible all threads and post to the visitors

cdoyle 03-20-2011 01:01 PM

Hi,
I installed this a few months back, and it was working great at the time, but today I logged into google webmaster tools, and noticed that several of the files are showing a 404 error.

/forums/sitemap_archive_1.xml.gz
/forums/sitemap_forum_7.xml.gz
/forums/sitemap_forum_8.xml.gz
/forums/sitemap_member_1.xml.gz
/forums/sitemap_tags_1.xml.gz

The rest show as OK?
Any ideas why these ones are showing a 404?

Phaedrus 03-21-2011 05:13 PM

vBulletin already has auto-submission site maps in the software, can anybody tell me if this is better and why?
