On closer inspection, should that last comma be there in this line?

'a:3:{s:4:\"view\";a:1:{i:0;i:6;}s:8:\"download\"; a:1:{i:0;i:6;}s:6:\"upload\";a :1:{i:0;i:6;}}',

looks like that might be the problem?

midwan 06-15-2012 10:22 PM

OK, I managed to fix the problem by editing the class_import.php file and remove the extra comma there... ;-)

Hi,

In VBdownload, is it possible to have the number of files available for download by category ?

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...0&d=1287866003

Thank you

Crotan 06-27-2012 02:35 AM

looks like a good mod, just wish the download comments were more consistent with the rest of vBulletin. Same structure as blog or cms comments would be ideal in this mod. That floating in comment box just doesn't rub me the right way

Sorry no, there isn't a way to show the count of downloads in a category. It's already on the list of requests though for next release, so I'll look at it next time we update the product.

I'll add a request to put in a different format for the comments next time we update.

I've tried a few codes into the Description box bu non that will how an image.

Tried myself, no luck. Just seems too plain without some images on the page. Anyone been able to do this?

There is a box to add an image to a category, or are you talking about putting an image somewhere else?

Yes, adding the ability to allow an image in the Category Description area. Basically allowing html (or at least bb code) in the Category Description area. This way if the category name is self explanatory you can at least center an image representative of the category in the description area and hyperlink link it. This way there also isn't so much blank space on the page. I think the overall look would be a lot better.

You could also just add another input like you have for "Category Image" and call it "Category Description Image" that would center any image you input in the Category Description area and hyperlink it to the category page.

Any news on when/if you may implement this? If not, is there a way to make a slight edit to allow for html in the description box?

I guess I'm not seeing the urgency in this? Currently, you can use an image to replace the title area and if you don't use the description area, you can remove it from the template. This would accomplish the same thing.

For me at least ...unlike most vB add-ons I use, your Downloads page typically has a lot of empty/unused real estate on it. I am trying in make use of the space in a more visually appealing way. Currently unless a user has at least 15 categories with descriptions there is going to be a significant amount of blank space on the page. Removing the description area would only make this worse.

I know for me personally it would look a lot better with the ability to have images in the description area, so I suggested it. I thought it would be a pretty simple edit.

If it doesn't help others too, then don't waste your time.

Do you have downloads setup yet or are you still in the process of setting it up? It looks like one of the fields created on install didn't get created. If you don't have downloads in there, are still in the process of setting it up and testing, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling.
If you already have it setup and being used I can give you a sql query to run to insert the field.

Seeing similar issue upgrading to 1.3.6 from 1.3.2.

Adimincp still shows 1.3.2 and I had to manually add the navbar links (main tab showed but blank navbar).

Is this mod, like DownloadsII, hamstrung by the php limit? Or is there a way to FTP uploads bigger then the limit, and import them?

It doesn't have ftp uploads yet so yes, it is restricted by the php limit. Next version I plan on adding a local importer.

Sorry about that. If you open dbtech/downloads/core/class_import.php
On line 165 you'll see
PHP Code:

replace it with

Does the server error log show anything else? Kind of hard to troubleshoot that as it's a fairly general error :(

I just added v1.3.7 which fixes the following:

Fixed - various upload errors when not allowing mirror links
Fixed - ACP section links that don't show up well on different ACP styles
Fixed - "More downloads from user" image if no image is used
Fixed - missing user field for some users
Fixed - padding on user profile when user has no downloads
Fixed - importer category error

Love this mod so far! Thank you very much for developing this!

A few suggestions for your next build:
  1. Allow admins to control the order the categories are displayed
  2. Allow different categories to accept different extension sizes. (5mb max .zip file for category #1 and 10mb max .zip file for category #2)
  3. Allow each category to have it's own file upload limit per download.
  4. Instead of comments, allow a discussion thread under the download post.
  5. Allow admins to change the navigation link text. (Downloads)

ynh 08-29-2012 05:08 AM

What can I do about this error?

Code:

ynh 08-29-2012 06:42 AM

I corrected the fatal error above by just commenting out line 112.

Now I am struggling with this problem:

One or more files you have tried to upload are too big. The maximum file size for zip files is 104857600 bytes.

The max file size it is returning is from the the php.ini, the max size should only be 41943040 as defined for that extension (zip).

However, while uploading a zip file that is no larger than 10k I see an error saying it is too large?

ynh 08-30-2012 02:11 AM

I would also love to see your navigation object added to the admincp navigation menu, so we can set the placement of it.

You can do this now by disabling their plugin named "NavBar Button 4.2" and creating it yourself in the Navigation Manager.

It only takes a minute and will get you what you want quickly so you don't have to wait for a mod update.

I just added v1.3.8 which fixes the following:

Fixed - upload error saying files within the limit are too large
Fixed - Pro file error
Added - Navigation manager menu items

If you manually created navigation manager items I suggest you remove them and use the ones created by the product. The ones created by the product include the permissions set in the modules.

DBT,

Many thanks for a class add-on - i will be definately upgrading to the Pro version as soon as my new site is ready to go...

Just after a pointer - Path to downloads - please could you explain more - is this a relative path, or an absolute? Have tried both however neither seems to work, however it's probably just me !! I'd just like to know that I'm trying the right thing before I start ripping stuff apart!

Cheers chaps

The preferred is the absolute path. Make sure your folder has write permissions on it.

I'm getting the following permissions error when trying to download a file that was successfully uploaded:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
vBulletin Message
Zac F., you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am the super admin on the site, and I've literally opened up the permissions for every possible module for every usergroup as well as allowed every usergroup download permissions in the category. What am I missing?

I've tested it on a test account as well that should have download rights. There has to be a permissions component I'm missing somewhere. I've confirmed the file was successfully uploaded to the correct folder.

Yes, I had an error on the download module. I fixed the permissions and just uploaded a hotfixed zip file. Try downloading it again and upload the dbtech/downloads/modules/downloadModule.php file. That should fix it, sorry about that.
