I will pay anyone that can figure out how to get this module to work with vbseo turned on, I want the title of the videos in my url which is what vbseo does, but this mod doesnt work, needing the code I can put in .htaccess to make this do that and work with vbseo

Code:

http://www.harleydavidsonpartsforum.com/media/m16-dumb-people-doing-funny-stuff
has the title in the page. but I dont run vbseo so lol the rest of my site isnt so seo friendly

Jaxel 04-28-2010 08:57 PM

NO ONE who has htaccess and VB4 should be running VBSEO... its that simple.

now that looks like you may need to rebuild your thumbnails for some reason , you go to admincp/maintenence and then update counters/ then go to rebuild media thumbnails

see if that works

added
I see it did work :>

Im in same boat.

I also have the newest vbseo which is much better then the regular vb 4.0 attempt of seo. If anyone has the code to put in the htaccess let me know!

why not go into that mod and ask the coder if they can help modify htaccess for this application?

hotslot 04-29-2010 12:21 AM

I'm not sure what this guys problem is with vbseo :confused:

Nothing against the program, I already said it should be mod of the month. Just was hoping to see some help for the seo savvy guys that have it can get some assistance with the htaccess

but people need more info than you are sharing to help you, whats the version of vb you are running,

did you install correctly, uploaded the htaccess to the root of your forum. all files that should be cmod to 777 are?

do you have the administrative capability's on the media page ?

lets figure this out :D

tlwwolfseye 04-29-2010 01:20 PM

Just installed this. And without actually reading through 23 pages here, I do have 2 questions. Is it possible to add Sites like "GAMETRAILERS.COM" as well and how do I use Videos in High Definition, for example from YT. I don't suppose the Mod knows when a Movie on YT is in High Definition or not.
Thanks in advance.

hotslot 04-29-2010 02:34 PM

VBSEO is willing to help on this project.

http://www.vbseo.com/f9/media-mod-ne...ewrites-42728/

I have submitted a ticket for it.

its in the setup somewhere, wonder if it has something to do with the editor options your running, like , it looks like its using quick reply to add the comment. I did notice that when i edited the comment . it didn't save my edited comment and it popped up the advance editor when i hit that edit button.
so both editors are called on

something is buggy for sure there but, it did allow me to add a comment no problem, i just could not edit the comment i had made.

is there a general setting that controls quick reply and yours isn't set maybe? if your is set to force click it may be that

Hi, i just installed this. I have a video plus account. My videos there ar set to private for my webpage only. Now when i try to import a video its doing nothing. Any idea if there is a problem there?

GAMENAO 04-29-2010 10:59 PM

How do I set the permissions?

Right now when I click media I get "You don't have sufficient privileges"

hotslot 04-29-2010 11:19 PM

To set permissions You will need to go in the admin control panel- UserGroup Manager - edit user group- Media Library Moderation Permissions

hotslot 04-29-2010 11:21 PM

If anyone has any ideas on how to customize the Auto-Create Thread section while uploading a video I could use some help. The forum thread auto locks and that's not what I want. Also It shows the video clip link in forum thread twice once on top and once on bottom.. Looks to spammy IMO and would like only the clip link in thread once.

warm regards

I am a real novice at this. I got the mod installed and it works wonderfully but I can not figure out how to upload my own videos. I can upload it to the right directory but not sure what I need to put in the URL box before I "Retrieve the data. Can someone give me an example. Thanks.

Jabong82 04-30-2010 03:04 AM

Everything seems to work fine for me except the edit function. I am running 4.0.3 with VBseo (dont know if that matters), and the only thing I can't do is edit the details of the video.

For example after I upload the video, before I initially save it I can change the details, but once I click save it goes back to what was originally important. I just cant change any of the details. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

The URL box is just the url of the video.

So for example if you want to upload a youtube video, u just put the url of the video there. Then click retrieve information. You then can edit (in theory, for some reason i cant lol) the details and save. Thats it.

Well I try not to answer questions that have either:

1 - already been answered in the thread
2 - already been answered in the mod description
3 - relate to a different product

Otherwise I'll be here all day answering questions, I leave that to helpful members on the forum who haven't been programming for a straight month and aren't burnt out. Such as harleyparts or MagicThemeParks. As for your question and modifying the thread creation... look for the PHRASE "media_newthread_pagetext". Edit it as you see fit.

Yehoshua Sofer 04-30-2010 03:16 AM

Yes I want to upload my own file not one on youtube etc.

ok you need to upload the file into the customVID folder in your root of the forum then when adding media all you put in the Media URL localvideo: FILENAME OF VIDEO HERE thats it.

But i cant get the thumbs to work for some reason on the files i uploaded

It will enable the links for EVERYBODY (they will be stopped with a permission error if they can't use the links, so security is still intact). I believe this problem is an error with VB itself not handling permissions in plugins on some forums. Go into the plugin: "media NAVTAB":

Find the line:
Code:

$perms = media_permissions();

REPLACE with:
Code:

$perms['submit'] = true;
$perms['modtags'] = true;
$perms['modcategory'] = true;
$perms['modservice'] = true;

I have been reading through this from the start for a fix and here it is!!! Thank you, before for me these administrative links did not show..... Now they do.

Will this be fixed in the next update :confused:.

Love this mod, thank you Jaxel for all your work, installed - Donation sent and Nominated :up:
