Not sure what you mean. If you want a landing page instead of the list of all articles, that is only a feature of the full version: wiki index page, wiki forum cover pages.

Myth-Scape 03-27-2012 02:02 AM

strange it just disappeared for a while I know I saw it at first last night then it disappeared...then I got on this morning and it was there again lol

also you have a image something like wiki.new.new-48.png that is not working for me yet I have it in the icon folder in the correct path?
unless thats in incorrect name of the image?

skylab 03-30-2012 07:24 PM

After installing this, it screwed with all my styles. For some reason, the navbar is now different. I'm also for some reason having major cache issues. Can't seem to edit my own profile and save. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times now. Can't figure this out. They seem responsive on their forums but I'm pretty desperate in finding an answer to this. Was looking forward to using this but it does seem to have several small issues. Also the buttons for the editor do not work at all for me.

thincom2000 03-31-2012 07:05 AM

Other users might be wondering about this so here's what went on with this:

skylab's more pressing issues were not due to installing VaultWiki, but due to two different issues that were not noticed until installing VaultWiki.

skylab had updated to vBulletin 4.1.11 unaware that a number of stylevars he was using in a style customized prior to 4.1.10 had been removed in 4.1.10.

skylab's server had future expires headers set for HTML content, so updates to most pages on vBulletin were made but unnoticed until the headers expired.

The only remaining issue at this time is that the wiki-related editor buttons are not appearing.

skylab 03-31-2012 11:04 AM

Just wanted to update that they've been very helpful and super responsive.

Not sure what happened with the styles but I'm taking care of that on my end.

The future expire headers was due to the parent directory having it and it wasn't set to off for my forums folder. It also meant that changes were not saved and editing entries kept telling me that another person was editing. For anyone else having this issue, check your expire headers.

I'm working on the editor buttons now but with my track record, it's probably another issue that I missed or caused.

Anyway -- definitely a 5 star.

It would be nice to have a template for when you create a new wiki post

right now you just start off with a blank page that you manually have to edit to make look like a wiki page

here is a simple example

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/04/56.png

Alan_SP 04-04-2012 03:19 AM

This example describes codes to use inside wiki article. You could make post templates, but I'm not sure if they will work with VaultWiki.

Post templates are mod from DByte Tech: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=277323

Sage Knight 04-04-2012 04:47 AM

Nevermind.

thincom2000 04-04-2012 06:31 AM

The full version of VaultWiki has its own Template feature, but they are not as easy to use as the DB Tech mod. I'm also not sure if that mod works with VaultWiki either. Looking at the tracker for VaultWiki, templates should be easier to use in the upcoming version.

Apologize if I looked agressive.

Alan_SP 04-06-2012 04:12 PM

No problem, but I know for a fact that VaultWiki has really good support.

lewisforlife 04-06-2012 04:27 PM

I installed VaultWiki because it is something that I want to set up within the next month. My site is not ready to have the "Wiki" button on the navigation menu yet. Is there a way to remove the "Wiki" button until I am ready to have a wiki on my site without uninstalling VaultWiki?

Also, what is the best way to change the text of the Wiki button so that it says something else? Thanks for the great product!

Thanks, that did the trick.

Alan_SP 04-22-2012 05:46 AM

Just want to thank authors of VaultWiki for their support. I had a problem after upgrade to vB 4.1.12 (and I use full version of VW).

Not to talk too much, I'll give links to threads I opened on vBcom (https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...on-s-50-100-up) and VaultWiki.org (https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2663/) where you can find more information what's happened and why.

Support provided from VaultWiki is really excellent, top notch and I'm very pleased that I bought VaultWiki. I'm very satisfied customer. Thank you for your excellent product, I really like it and your excellent support makes me glad that I bought it even more.

marccap 04-22-2012 08:49 PM

Ive put the upload file in my FTP main directory then
Im typing http://www.mysite.co.uk/ then adding - forum/vault/install/install.php
but Im not getting prompted to admin cp.

im using 4.1.12

Thanks

thincom2000 04-23-2012 06:42 AM

You have to put the contents of the /upload folder into your forum main directory. Do not upload the /upload folder itself. Also your forum main directory is usually different from your FTP main directory...

thincom2000 04-26-2012 10:49 AM

3.0.10 Lite is out today. It fixes a few bugs that were reported at the support site, including missing editor buttons and uncached templates.

marccap 04-27-2012 01:52 PM

installed the lite version but limits me to 10,000 characters - Is this due to the lite version?

axix20xx 04-28-2012 04:02 AM

thincom2000 04-28-2012 06:34 AM

axix20xx 04-29-2012 05:39 AM

I can uninstall it
but now i cant install it again and this is the error :

Code:

thincom2000 04-29-2012 07:03 PM

Okay, thanks. Now that vbulletin.org is back I can see your post and work on this.

thincom2000 04-30-2012 02:34 AM

So how exactly did you go about uninstalling this? Because the uninstall script that's run by the product manager clearly removes this field that is somehow still in your database, and that occurs before the product is removed, so if it failed, the product would still be there... It sounds like your "uninstall" was you going into the database and removing the product table entry for VaultWiki.

axix20xx 04-30-2012 02:38 AM

thanks
exactly which tables ???
can u name them now ?

thincom2000 04-30-2012 05:52 AM

Everything which was supposed to be removed is listed in the vault/tools/uninstall.php file.

ywwz 04-30-2012 08:04 AM

Pls help me with this:

I am getting this error right after I upgraded wiki lite to premium

===============================================

Enable Auto Links to VaultWiki articles?

Select the forum areas where text will be automatically linked to relevant wiki pages.

An error occurred while processing the bitfield files, the following information was returned:

================================================== ==============

And there is another thing: I cannot see the list on my admincp's sidebar. (see as attached)

thincom2000 04-30-2012 09:19 AM

Hm, well they would have the best answer at the site for the full version, but it looks like you're trying to use Lite bitfield files with the full product. This won't work, you need to use the files that came with the paid version.

If you know for sure the bitfield files are correct, it might be a caching issue - I didn't think vB cached the cpnav file, but it does cache bitfields for settings and permissions. You can try Rebuild > Rebuild Bitfields.

michaelbang 04-30-2012 01:51 PM

Am I not getting the point, or is VaultWiki basically just an extra forum with a new tab?

thincom2000 04-30-2012 05:09 PM

m-w.com says "wiki (noun): a Web site that allows visitors to make changes, contributions, or corrections" so the tab leading to another forum is more of a coincidence.

I did it , all vault tables are deleted, but again that database error come up
Plz help

thincom2000 05-01-2012 06:30 AM

You should also see ones called "vault_alter_table" in that file.
These mention vB tables now, and those columns have to be removed from the vB tables. Don't remove anything else, and don't remove the whole table. Just the parts it mentions.
