-improve ban filter
Often I find myself wanting to ban words, which are contained in other words.
Example: if I ban 'ass' it would also ban 'assassination' which I don't want. obviously it should still ban other combinations like 'nice ass'

if you put the ban keyword in quotation marks that will work, ie ban: "ASS".

Hi Mogmartin,

Nice easy mod to install - I have used the freebie version and if it works will go back over to your site where I have registered and purchase. Suppose will have to let it cook for a few weeks and see if there is any difference.

cheers

Btw whenever a slash is in the query then there is a database error, as I get this email:
Database error in vBulletin 4.0.2:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT * FROM seoqueries_terms WHERE term_value='some keyword\';

MySQL Error : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''some keyword\'' at line 1

murekhalir 04-06-2010 07:41 PM

Is there any way to have a premium version of the mod? I'm not interested in having a link to SEOFORUM just for professionalism sake.

Any unbranded options?

lazerguy_82 04-06-2010 10:25 PM

there is a paid version

lazerguy_82 04-06-2010 10:42 PM

One thing I really don't understand is that if I update the ban filter, the my "search keywords" list goes from XX pages to X pages. I didn't add a common word, which would eliminate a bunch of words, but simply added "ass" as recommended above, which affects maybe 5 searched keywords.

Already tested it on VB 4.0.3, it seems to work, looks like I have to wait to see the results since my sites is relatively new.

milaszewski 04-19-2010 10:03 AM

there is a character encoding problem:

word "głos" appears as "gĹs"
"płyty dźwiękoszczelne" is "pĹty dĹşwiÄoszczelne"

my site is using iso-8859-2
any suggestions?

Perhaps something like this could help? I just don't know the exact variable and where to place this string:
PHP Code:

$keyword iconv("UTF-8""ISO-8859-2"$keyword);

jiggle 04-26-2010 05:52 PM

Hi, is this also working with vB 3.8x version or only for 4.x ?
If its not working does someone know a similiar plugin for 3.8x version like this one which generates keywords ?

washingtonboise 04-27-2010 11:48 AM

Also hoping for 3.8.4

For good mods, we're gonna need a 'downgrade request' button that just keeps count.
I'm joining a swarm of people here.

mikez006 04-28-2010 01:54 PM

On the homepage the letter "f" is displaying in the search terms. Also when clicking "Browse Search terms" im seeing other one or two letter terms showing up. I see these in the list: 0, 1, 2, 3, 9, 1h, 0h, ph

I tried using the ban filter and added "f", but it still displayed.

Jesh 05-01-2010 12:39 AM

Bug: When viewing statistics, click on 'No of Searches' - the up/down arrow changes direction, but the list does not order itself by highest or lowest number of searches as would be expected.

final kaoss 05-20-2010 09:43 PM

I came up with an idea for this. What if it could create a user account with the same name as the keyword phrase used?

Same problem , VB 3.8.4

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4:

Invalid SQL:

This is NOT for vbulletin 3.8.x theres your problem.

algareem 05-22-2010 10:51 AM

C'mon , Fix it :D

I dont think its a major problem . because everything works fine but it falls when it deal with complex phrases.

trinyzap 05-23-2010 05:51 PM

please make for vb 3.8.x

lubbie 05-28-2010 08:33 PM

Thanks for this

adblaze 06-13-2010 02:28 AM

Could this possibly create "keyword stuffing" issues with Google? Too many keywords that look don't look natural? I had a couple of listings drop after having a lot of similar keywords generated b Fuzzy on the page.

Skyrider 06-17-2010 04:13 PM

I also get SQL errors:

Go to:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?clien...=Google+Search

And click on the third link (not seeing any servers in esf 1.3). You'll get the SQL error.

But I fixed it with the XML change a few post above, thanks.

Just bought the gold version of this plugin, and then find a linkback to their forum.

Then I go to looking on their forum and a bunch of people having same issues, with no support what-so-ever from the looks of things.

Teach me to read up on something b4 I buy it next time ! ( darn it! I know better is the thing )

All files are still dated 3/10/2010 also, and the owner hasn't been to this thread since

Hi Everyone - specifically liuxtuts in this case, but also to the general vb4 webmaster community - Ive been cold turkey on vb and all my plugins for the last few months, as I embarked on what I thought was a two week job, thats turned into a 3 month one.

I realise thats of scant reassurance to everyone that has encountered a bug on one of these plugins in the interim - but I will be back on the case sometime next week when I FINALLY get this monkey off my back and finish the project that has completely buggered up my schedule for this quarter.

watch this space, more news coming soon!

FYI: to remove the linkback, just set the accreditation to the "FOOTER" in the backend. The link will then disappear, sorry about that!!

Skyrider 06-27-2010 07:47 PM

I'd like to add while this mod did increased the users base on the forums, it also increased our bot registrations by over 60%.
