Popa Andrei 03-13-2010 04:23 AM

and please untill the bug fixes can someone at least tell me how to shrink the spaces in the sides?

Bouncer222 03-13-2010 04:27 AM

Just a question....

When you do fix all of these, and we install it....will that revert our templates? (when we upgrade)

m1thr0s 03-13-2010 04:40 AM

lol...I've been thinking the same thing!
it would be really great to have a list of changes made so we could at least be prepared or even weed it out a bit before re-installing...
probably not practical though...
keep track of your modifications!
you may have to repeat a few...

wierdo124 03-14-2010 04:49 PM

I'll be waiting for the update.

Is there any plans to make a red version? I would really like it.

xst - this is just plain dumb and wrong...I think this must be it--->

Attachment 114147

do a *Styles & Templates*-->*Search in Templates* using the term *-48.png* - it shows up in several templates (3 I think)...you should be able to replace the -48.png with .gif to make the switch. I haven't tested this yet so proceed with caution...

...or you could just swap out the images since they are the same size etc...more steps though...you'd need to convert the gif to a png, rename the old png and give that name to the new etc...

anuanu 03-15-2010 03:16 AM

Thanks! changed its working!

m1thr0s 03-15-2010 06:15 PM

personally, I would change the name *forum_new.gif* to *forum_new-48.gif* first and then replace -48.png with -48.gif --> the reason being that the next time you go looking for it you won't have to try to find it by searching for *.gif* which could return a huge number of links...

either way - glad to hear it's working! :)

Bouncer222 03-15-2010 09:51 PM

Hey Impulse...
Any approximate due date for release of XML to fix all the issues?
Thanks.

Sorry, we do not have an estimate date for all issues. The bugs are being looked after accordingly.

Thank you for your patience!

Popa Andrei 03-16-2010 11:55 PM

can u please tell me how to make the spaces in sides smaller?

mogul 03-17-2010 03:01 AM

Applied on my web. Please advice me. Thanks dude.

dgkrob 03-20-2010 12:34 AM

Hi guys,

I'm having a strange issue that im hoping someone might be able to help with, Basically if a thread goes over into a second page we can no longer get access to it it just come up with a forbidden message and the below text.

You don't have permission to access /showthread.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This is fine if the thread stays to one page however as soon as it goes over onto a second page i get this error?

first page link /showthread.php?674-I-would-like-to-propose-....
second page link /showthread.php?674-I-would-like-to-propose-..../page2

Any ideas?

m1thr0s 03-20-2010 04:55 AM

dgkrob: this is a known issue in vB4 and should be addressed at vbulletin.com - it has nothing to do with the Dark Vision skin. You should be able to test this by looking at what happens to these threads in vBulletin's default skin...if you are getting the same problem, it has nothing to do with the darkvision skin...

I had this problem as well and reported it over there...the more people confirming this will make it more likely to be taken seriously and resolved in future versions. The short-term solution (in my case) was to manually edit out the *...* part of thread titles ending in *...* This isn't a real solution but it's something you can do that appears to work. Your situation may be different.

dgkrob 03-20-2010 11:29 AM

ahhhh thanks m1thr0s that is indeed the issue and its now working.

And your correct it is with any theme. Sorry for posting here i automatically thought it was something to do with this theme :doh

m1thr0s 03-21-2010 08:26 AM

it's a very peculiar *bug* they have not been able to duplicate in all cases, so there is some resistance to thinking it is a vBulletin bug at all...yet it persists for a few of us where earlier versions never did this. It may have something to do with a recent apache add-on called mod_security2 which has been causing an assortment of problems for vBulletin...

anyway...another topic for another place...

peter_trucker 03-21-2010 11:35 AM

thanks for this one .

would have been nice if the maps would have been named different though now you cant install all three of them without overwriting the earlier installed one.

The style images do not affect the css. You can run all three with the same image files.

peter_trucker 03-22-2010 06:33 AM

yep you are right. :D

now i got that if i open a forum with more pages the page listig above and below isnt very visiblle the same with the mod editboxes below the pages is this something that can be fixed??

WeMovie.co.uk 03-23-2010 06:28 PM

This is a great style. Thankyou.

BUT one issue I'm having is that when you type something into a box, the box goes white and you can't see what you've just typed.
How do I fix this? I tried looking in StyleVars but I have no idea what I'm looking for.
Cheers.

i think i may be looking for the same solution...

the boxes (as attached) start out white until you click them which makes them black, but as soon as you click on the next box, the first box goes back to white and you cant see the text.

Been thru styleVars but its doing my head in

superb skin and happy with everything but that.

what do i need to change??

Yep same issue. It doesn't bother me too much but I imagine it could piss off others.

Joseph Witchard 03-27-2010 05:25 AM

Would I be allowed to change the images up? It's a great skin, and I would still list you as the developer. But my forum is Harry Potter centered, so I need to put my Harry Potter banners/icons and stuff up. So far this is best dark skin I've found for VB4:)

tanksboard 03-30-2010 11:33 PM

Please help me. The buttons and such on this style are not showing on my site?

EcoCav 03-31-2010 11:13 AM

uninstalled...

Tagged and waiting for theme to be fixed

I was annoyed by this as well. But, I fixed it on my end.

Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> DarkVision -> Edit Templates -> CSS Templates -> editor.css

The fourth set of styles listed should be:

input.textbox:focus {
/* REMOVE UPDATE */
color:#eeeeee;
background:#25292c;
background-color:#25292c;

/* REMOVE UPDATE */
}

The REMOVE UPDATE stuff may or may not be there, it's on mine, and I don't know why. But anyway, you'll just be adding another item so it will then look like this:

input.textbox:focus, input.textbox {
/* REMOVE UPDATE */
color:#eeeeee;
background:#25292c;
background-color:#25292c;

/* REMOVE UPDATE */
}

Best as I can tell, the CSS file never tells it what to do with the top level input textboxes that are NOT in use. So it uses the default.

Edit: I haven't tested this across the whole site yet, but so far on my end it fixes the Search bar on the front page, it fixes the title bars when posting replies in Advanced and it fixes all the boxes when editing profiles. If you find others that it doesn't fix, let me know. Or I will also if I find them, and will tell you what to do to fix it.

Fraggs 04-06-2010 12:10 AM

.blockrow textarea:focus {
/* REMOVE UPDATE */
color:#eeeeee;
background:#25292c;
background-color:#25292c;

/* REMOVE UPDATE */
}

also needs to be updated to

.blockrow textarea:focus, .blockrow textarea {
/* REMOVE UPDATE */
color:#eeeeee;
background:#25292c;
background-color:#25292c;

/* REMOVE UPDATE */
}

iyama 04-06-2010 10:30 AM

Still waiting on the update to make the white things coulered ;)

m1thr0s 04-06-2010 12:24 PM

thanks Fraggs but one question: are we replacing the old code with the new or adding in these examples? Your first post says adding and your second says updating. I'm not experienced enough a coder to know if it even makes any difference but it sort of sounds like we are supposed to be replacing old with new in both cases?

CoZmicShReddeR 04-06-2010 01:55 PM

Basically he is saying

Find
input.textbox:focus

Replace it with
input.textbox:focus, input.textbox

There are two isntances on the editor.css I changed both of them looks like it fixed it for me using the VB4.02 CMS Version...

ONLY BLACK-ONLY DARKNESS

Thanks!

Fraggs 04-07-2010 11:32 AM

Yeah, sorry. You're not technically replacing anything, just adding another tag to what's already there. But, in all honesty, simply replacing the whole thing will still give you the same end result both in code and in the finished output.

I actually found several other things to change too, but unfortunately didn't think to write them down. The ones I remember were.

reset-fonts.css which is under the same category as editor.css

find legend{color:#fff;} and change the fff to eee
that will change the color of the section texts at the bottom of posting a new thread from black to the same color as the rest of the white-ish text on the site.

editor.css find

.editor_textbox_container {
width:99%;
float:{vb:stylevar left};
margin-{vb:stylevar right}:-{vb:math {vb:raw vboptions.smcolumns} * ({vb:stylevar editor_smiliebox_smiliesize} + 5) + 10};
}

change the width to 100% to regain the right side border of the edit window in the Post New Thread section.

The rest was finding and changing various items in the StyleVars such as the calendar backgrounds for other months, though that was just a personal desire, not really necesarry. The day of week link color for the main calendars as once again I don't like black text on dark gray background. The page navigation font color was also black on dark gray, so that had to be changed. Also, either something I changed also changed the color of the buttons such as Submit Thread and others across the site. Not sure if that was a change or if I accidentally changed something else. Either way, I had to hunt and peck for the background stylevar to those buttons to re-darken them. I unfortunately don't remember where all the StyleVars were, but they are "mostly" worded properly to find them. Time for example. When dealing with those, just stay on that page and change what you think it is, refresh your forum in another browser tab and see if it changed. If not, set it back to what it was and try another one. :)

edit: Also if you have vBa CMPS the Private Messages link in the User CP is too dark, so I had to find the StyleVar controlling that and changed it to the blue color that the rest of the links were.

I also want to point out that I only tested these changes in FireFox 3.6 and IE 8 so I can't vouch for correctness in other browsers at this time.

I appreciate the support. We are implementing fixes that will be effective sitewide.

Fraggs 04-08-2010 11:38 AM

Not a problem, I just fixed them on my end because I didn't feel like using a different template in the meantime. But on that note, this post says to go to your website to get the .psd file, but I can't find it there anywhere. Is it just not included yet?

Fraggs 04-08-2010 01:51 PM

Nevermind. Guess it didn't like me the first time through. :)
