So where can I get the one for 4.1.7?
|
how can i fix this problem ?
|
Are you using IE8 ?
|
yes i am using IE8
|
Its an issue with IE8, which I simply dont have time to investigate atm.
You may be able to stop it by altering the "Enable Directional Markup Fix" setting in your language settings. |
need for 4.1.7

Paul, is there any reason why you don't or didn't leave the older xml versions for others who use the earlier versions of vB 4, so they can still use the mod?
|
It simply something I dont do as uploading the new version simply replaces the old, and I dont support multiple versions - therefore I only make the current version available. However, I have made exceptions in the past for unusual circumstances, so if there is a demand, I may find time to attach the final 417 version.
|
Another good modification Paul M
Thank you :) Installed and working 4.1.8 |
The older (pre 418) version is now attached to the main post.
This is for vBulletin versions 4.1.0 - 4.1.7 only. Please note that the older version is NOT supported. There is no 4.0.x version available. |
Paul M,
So where is the updated 4.1.8 mod version file at? 417-Who-has-read-thread.xml= when opened up inside file states this is mod version 4.1.7. |
Well, there are two files, and you checked one, so take a guess. :)
|
Well i am running vbulletin 4.1.9 but all i am getting in the box is Array, but i don;t know if it's the mods fault or because of a pre-existing error on the board which prevents it.
Edit: nvm, it's the "Thread Information" block which shows array for those that are reading thread. However i am getting double comma's in the who read thread block. |
this works perfect on 4.1.9
just the MOD i was looking for, and fits perfect for what i need it for |
Hi,
same error for Who-has-visited plugin, i have two comma for nick name. Any idea? P.S. I running VB 4.1.9 Thanks |
Same answer. Refer to the other thread.
|
Installed and working nicely on my new 4.1.10 upgrade.
Thanks Paul. |
I have installed version 4.1.8 of this mod.
I updated 2 days ago to vB 4.1.10, and now it looks like this (attachment). Any idea how i can make the names not overlap eachother? |
revert edited templates..
and if you read back a page or 2 you'll see more on this topic.. working perfect in vb4.1.10 |
Hi Paul
I just disabled the mod and my forum has gone down and displays a 503 error. |
I dont really see how disabling it could do that, 503 is an http Service Unavailable Code.
If you have disabled it, this cannot really be doing anything. |
Paul,
I had installed your 3.8 version of this mod on my live board a couple years ago and was wondering how to proceed here. I just upgraded my 3.8 forum to 4.1.10 on a testbed on my local machine where I'm adding customization and mods before going live with it on the internet. After my upgrade I can see that this mod "Who Has Read a Thread" is listed at the bottom of the vBulletin Options list in the Admin CP and when I click on it the mod CP page opens up. Question (and I tried searching this thread to see if someone else asked about this): Is it best for me to uninstall the vb3.8 version and then install this vb4 version, or can the vb3.8 version be upgraded? I don't mind losing records of who read old threads - that's not important to me. What is important is installing this excellent mod as cleanly as possible for future use once I go live with my vb4 version. TIA |
Just install the vb4 version, it will remove any older versions of itself.

Thanks man! Keep up the good work! :) |
Hello Paul,
Very Nice... Good work !!! Thank you very much It s ok for vb 4.1.1.0 ? |
Is there any way to record each time a person reads a thread? I am doing some research and I am trying to watch some threads to see when and how often people return to it rather then only the last time they visited.
|
see the first screen shit in the first post .. click view readers will have a history of what thread those people read ..

I looking to see who has read a post and for it to log each time they read it. Say it's a hot thread and I want to know how many times and when each person read it. Rather then the last time I need every time. For example. If Bob reads a thread I want to see he read it on Monday, twice on Tuesday and once on Saturday. Record all visits. Not just the last visit. I have read the info in the first post and I don't see anything that helps me with this. Am I out of luck? It's a cool hack and I hope what I'm trying to do can be done. |
If this does not do this but could with some funding I would be happy to discuss it.
|
You obviously cannot log specific posts, only the thread.
The member view lists every thread they have visited, and if they visit a thread three times, its listed three times. However, there is no in-built functionality to filter the display on a single thread. Also, the data is only kept for a few days (you can configure that tho.). |
When clicking on the "view readers" the list of members that have read the thread appears, however, what is logged is only the latest visit, while prior visits to the same thread are removed. Is it possible to log all visits and not just the latest one?
|
Sorry, Im confusing this with something else - no, this doesnt track multiple views like that.

working on vb 4.1.10

Any chance yourself or anyone else knows of a way to see who has read a particular thread and when it was each time they came back to read it again? |
Installed!
Thanks Paul! |
Installed v4.1.8.0 on VB 4.1.10 but with some questions:
1- aim the forum Admin and want to see which Members who have read the thread for other thread creators not only mine. (If someone wrote a thread, I can not see who read his thread) 2- In my threads I can not see when the users read my thread, I just have this --> Actions : (View-Readers) (Set Date) but when I click on them It says : you do not have permission to access this page! although I selected yes and all to all the options!! 3- can i move the location of info box, since it is now comes between Similar Threads and Tags for this Thread, can i move it up after Thread Information or even next to the thread it self like in POst thank you hack? |
i would like to see small improvement for this modification
1. setting to enable/disable the visibility of reader's names list (in case i want to see the list there is the view 'readers', so for some forums it's would be more usable) 2. and another setting to make the section be collapsed by default instead expanded (works only if 1 is disabled) thanks for considering it and improving the modification |
I dont have the time atm, but I have a list of requests I keep, so I'dd add this.
TBH, I dont quite understand the first request either. |
