I am glad you guys like it :D

Supposedly when you have the BB version ready, how is your mod compared to this version https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=227794

Coume 11-15-2009 07:54 AM

Great work.

One question, do you think that you will be able to easily (and are you planning to) convert your code to support VB4?
I'm just asking because I don't want to release this mod publicly to my members if I have to drop the support in few weeks :(

Thanks again for your hard work.

We have just started looking into the work requires to port it to vb4 and we do plan to support it. I don't expect it is a huge undertaking as we have even ported this MOD to phpBB3 two months ago. In any case we are committed to vb4.0. Cheers...

I haven't have a chance to try the BB app but I believe there are rooms for multiple developers to contribute, the same way that there are multiple chatbox for vbulletin.. :D

Our vision is to support majority of smartphone devices not limited to iPhone or BB only, and we are getting one step closer with recent release of Nokia S60 app.

Yellowpeter,

I'm very happy to hear that your app will support vB4. Our forum will be moving to vB 4 as soon as it goes to production and we're setting up a test site within the next few weeks. When do you plan to have a vB 4 beta version available?

Thanks and regards,

Dan.

Wasn't what I asked but thanks for answering :)
As the owner, I would prefer to have one vendor providing solutions to different phone platforms instead of one vendor for BB, one for iPhone, etc.

That's why we're watching your development closely. I just want to know how different the feature set for BB from you.

And it helps that the admin receive the product for free like the other mod.

Quantnet 11-16-2009 03:27 AM

Is your application forum focused?
What about sites that are using vbCMS, Wordpress, vbAdvanced for the portal?

Stilling waiting for Apple approval. What bugs me is to see the crash reports (yah when the app fails it send the trace info to Apple server) and yet we can't get the update version of the people's hand.

You fail to appreciate that Apple wants what is best for us. What the world doesn't need is an app like yours which may make those people who read forums happy. No. What we need is yet another flashlight, fart application, silly game, or other worthless app.

That's one possibility, we will look into it when the basic forum feature developed and stabilized. This MOD is fully compatible with vbAdvanced as we paid special effort to it.

vaguard 11-17-2009 11:54 AM

This has been a very useful and productive mod for my board. While I am still having issues with the ability to display an image to a registered user who browses my forum with the Tapatalk app ( I have opened a support ticket with Tapatalk) the users constantly say how much they love this app and how much fun they have on our board... can't wait to see what they say when they can actually see images as well. Very good mod indeed.

yellowpeter 11-18-2009 01:43 PM

Great you like it. Yah we are looking into the image viewing problem you reported.. :D

Or the ability to change basic things like your theme or email chime. It's no wonder people jailbreak them.

BTW yellowpeter, looking forward to a version of this to test out with vB4 beta. :)

Please do NOT waste your time with vBulletin 4. It will be many months until it actually functions the way it should and is really "gold" - and most of us won't "upgrade" since it would be a major downgrade without the hacks. As it stands right now, I don't blame a single developer if they don't want to convert anythign to vb4, will charge money to do so, etc. vB 4 doesn't really give any of us anything better than vb 3.8 that I can see right now. Your product is getting better and better with vb3 and it will stay that way for quite a while. Better to do an invision board version first too...

what do u mean?

i use vbadvanced and the mod works great. the files go in ur forum's root directory. how do u epect vbadvanced to come into play? im just curious, because im not sure what ur asking. make me feel like im not doing something i could be doing. haha

Quantnet 11-19-2009 12:00 PM

It may work well for you because your site is forum focus i.e all the content is generated from forum threads but many of us, forum is just part of our site, we have our content on other part like wiki, front page, etc
So instead of install separate apps, one for forum, one for browsing the site, I'm looking for something that our users can use for the whole site.
Does it make sense?

vbreal 11-19-2009 09:21 PM

ahh ok thanks for explaining

yellowpeter 11-20-2009 12:36 PM

VB4 support will need to be done eventually :D

Key word... EVENTUALLY. :D

No need to waste time with this like so many other people here who can't wait to upgrade their forum to a buggy beta and find out what they did later.

I am using vB4 on a new forum, I'm sure my base of 5 users (me twice) can handle a few bugs. ;)

yellowpeter 11-22-2009 04:55 AM

I think what would really benefit for forum owner is to have an app integrating the CMS side of the vBulletin. So News etc can be published and accessed inside the app.

yellowpeter 11-22-2009 01:42 PM

FYI folks.. we are about to release the first Android beta, if you have an Android device please make sure you drop us a note at here tell us which model you are using. :D

A long promising feature.... Mobile Upload!

We have managed to finish the image upload feature on iPhone, now (well, i mean as soon as we submit it to app store and apple approves it) you can simply attach a photo either from Library or straight from the camera! No more email via other third-party tool!

when "Add Image" button is tapped it will ask if you want to take the picture from camera or from library:
Attachment 106695

Tap "Start Upload", you can continue to write your post while the image is being uploaded at the background
Attachment 106696

It takes only few seconds to upload, image will be re-sized to smaller resolution (if taken from camera) so to make the transfer faster
Attachment 106697

We are still doing some final testing on this feature but I just can't wait to share this good news after months of hard work to make it happen!

vbreal 11-24-2009 02:34 PM

ahhh man that is great news!!!! I've been waiting for this. cant wait it till i can get my hands on this version. haha

yellowpeter 11-25-2009 12:37 PM

Hopefully it will get to your hand soon...

We have just started a small beta testing of the Android app! Here are some screenshots:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1259160763

If you are interested to get a copy of the app please PM me and tell me which forum you are associated with, I would be able to send you an app. Alternatively you can check out this page http://www.tapatalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=25 for installation instruction and chat with other beta testers :)

vbreal 12-02-2009 02:12 PM

so far so good on the android app. the few peeps on my site that are in beta love it.

Stryker412 12-03-2009 02:05 PM

Any chance of this making it's way to the webOS (Palm)?

yellowpeter 12-04-2009 01:40 PM

We have managed to release a "Lite" version of iPhone app "Tapatalk RO" - please download the app at http://itunes.com/app/tapatalkro

Baldilocks 12-04-2009 02:40 PM

What directory do I upload the tapatalk.dm file to?

Hi,

You don't put it in your directory, you can simply ask your members to point their Nokia device to http://www.tapatalk.com/nokia/tapatalk.dm and it should install automatically.

We will put it in Ovi Store shortly

Baldilocks 12-06-2009 02:32 PM

Cool. Thank you!

yellowpeter 12-07-2009 12:21 AM

We have just released the Android app (Beta 2) in the Market! Grab your copy now if you have Android phone!

yellowpeter 12-07-2009 02:35 PM

I really like the fact that you can instantly release the app to the Android market without review - Now we just pushed the latest and greatest to Android Market as Beta 3. We will update you again as soon as new version is ready.

Private Messaging is currently in development in Android. Expect to see this in next few weeks. hopefully before Christmas ;)

ericgtr 12-07-2009 02:56 PM

I would love to see a more stable version of this for the iphone, on my 3GS it never actually goes to the last post unless I click the post (which takes me to a much earlier post) and then go back, then click on it again. It also tends to crash if you move too quickly in there.

Joshkrz 12-08-2009 12:17 AM

Nice to see Symbian included for once. This is a great mod.

Hey Eric, are you able to send me the URL of which topic/threads in your forum that's causing the issue? Are you using the latest MOD version?

For the crash yes we are able to reproduced it two weeks ago and an updated version is again submitted to Apple for approval.

Glad you like it. We are about to submit the app to Nokia Ovi Store in next few days so hopefully it make the distribution easier. Right now your members have to point their nokia device to http://www.tapatalk.com/nokia/tapatalk.dm to install it.

yellowpeter 12-11-2009 08:23 AM

Tapatalk iPhone 1.5 is released at app store! Download it and it should solve 70% of the crashes you have! ;)

Same for the lite version now get updated to 1.1 with the same base code.
