Hi, I've tested the functionality from the 'guest' side of things and everything looks great....
However, the existing member sign in with facebook doesnt seem to be working. it asks you to make a nickname, and i click the 'existing user' link.... sign in to the board and then I'm logged in. however there doesnt appear to be any integration at all. I dont get asked about stories when making a new thread / reply. Is it likely I have done something wrong, or is anyone else havingm this issue? |
How about friendster connect as well, can you make it please.

Can a person upgrade directly from 2.0.2 to 2.0.4? Or do I have to upgrade to 2.0.3 first? Thanks!
|
I upgraded... It seems like this product has a lot of potential that hasn't been relized. It also has some short comings. Here's my laundry list of what i'd like to see.
1. Option to logout of facebook connect and associate the facebook connect login with a current vbulletin login. 2. There are lots of data that facebook can pass. I'd like to see an option to map this data. 3. Proxied email addresses can be requested from yahoo. I'd like to see this included in the dafult product. 4. Would like to be able to pull a person's facebook ID and map it to that. 5. Options to post to group threads would be nice. 6. Pull profile images and images from the image gallery into vbulletin and import/export images from vbulletin to facebook. |
How do I upggrade from 2.0.1?

ok. I think this is going to be a recurring request. Until this is sorted I will have to uninstall the application.
Currently, there is no way to associate EXISTING MEMBERS with a facebook account - according to the mod description on .org it seems as though it should be possible - but it's not. Steps to reproduce:- 1. Logout 2. Sign in with facebook connect 3. Dont choose a nickname, instead click on the existing user 4. Login to your board 5. We can now assume the vb account is facebook connected - NO ITS NOT Maybe this is only a bug / problem on my board. Can anyone confirm or deny the above to be true for them? @Uninstalled until resolved |

It's worked for three of my members who used it, and new members get new accounts. This isn't a "bug" other than it appears you created a new account rather than associating it with your current account when you first used it. |

I tried it on a test server and it works good for me. I connected with facebook and selected existing username. Upon posting a message for the first time, its asks if this is to be published onto facebook etc, and it works. Also, upon getting a private message or reply to threads, they show up in my facebook notifications. It will be going live next week so I will report back, but so far it all looks good. The only thing I see is missing is that users could do with some options to turn on/off the notifications. |
When this app is turned on, I get the following error on every forum page:

Maybe the mod developer can offer some insight into where it might be going wrong. Only major mod I'm running is vbseo. |
^^^ I run vBSEO and it works fine. No conflicts there.
Is your applicaiton registered right on facebook? |
I am getting this error:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function print_datamap_row() in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\admincp\fbconnect_datamap.php on line 97 when I try to change the data mapping. |
I upgraded today and it seems my submit and cancel button on the FB login form have disappeared. Not sure what happened. Can someone guide me as to what I have to do to get these buttons back.
Thanks in advance. |
Since the upgrade all the mails to the Facebook proxy mails have been bouncing back. Any idea why?
|
yes the application is installed perfectly on the facebook end. The integration is working fine, except for when it comes to existing users.
Frogster: I am seeing the same on my end.... if you look very closely you will notice that they are still there, however the iframe doesnt appear to be big enough to house all the content. |

Would anyone have any idea how to fix this iframe problem |
I've only recently installed facebook connect on MyModelTalk. I only see the Facebook connect login in vBulletin while viewing the forum as a guest. When i'm logged in it goes away. Are you two saying the login should NORMALLY show all the time? So that people can change what login they are associated with?

I noticed that even though my hosting account's cpanel reported that I was using PHP5, I was, in fact, using PHP4. My .htaccess file was forcing PHP4.
Once I remedied this, the errors, below, were fixed. Quote:

I would suggest we await the developers feedback - there are a few issues here to reply to and developers quickly lose the enthusiasm when overwhelmed.
Since this is the best mod since sliced bread that would be awful. |

Silk, I sent you a paypal with a request to reinstall my facebook connect mob and configure my facebook application correctly. Did you receive it?
|
I'm also getting the "dead button" effect. There is no popup, no action at all when I click the Connect with Facebook button. Any suggestions?
|
Hey Sllik, I sent you a PM to try and pin down an issue i'm having. Will gladly make a donation to get this issue resolved. :)

maybe it's been checked over by a moderator to ensure compliance with some rule set by .org or facebook..... who knows.

You have to write something to ask them for their email address. |
I updated from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 vbulletin version 3.81 and couldn't see the facebook login button at the bottom.
