I'm getting this as well, but only some of the time.

It looks as if I am going to have to uninstall this. A brilliant idea but needs a bit more work.

might have to try this one out, thanks for sharing

tormodg 12-14-2008 03:43 PM

It seems to me that the file fblogin.php lacks an ending

PHP Code:

?>

I'm also a bit confused at the last of these lines - why is it different?

PHP Code:

// ######################### REQUIRE BACK-END ############################
require_once('./global.php');
require_once(
'./includes/facebook/facebook.php');
require_once(
'./includes/functions_fbconnect.php');
require_once(
DIR '/includes/functions_login.php');

Actually it's very easy! You can set a default user group for facebook users in the add-on settings. So what I would suggest you do, is create a user group with restricted access and set it as the default user group for facebook users. After you approve the user, you can move him/her to the group with all the other approved users.

Would this solution work for ya?

yes, thank you.

make sure you re-upload the facebook library in includes/facebook/

make sure you make the templates changes in the 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 update and Re-upload clientscript/fbconnect.js

Ah, didn't do that - thanks working perfectly

Do you think it's possible to add an image verification to this programs registration process? It probably won't take long for someone to figure out a script to easily spam forums using this form of registration. It'd be great to try and prevent that with whatever default form of verification everyone's forum uses.

But this uses facebook verification, no?

All you gotta have is a Facebook email and password to start with and enter the username you want for the forum and that's it. I don't know what kind of system Facebook uses to register with but in this case we have to hope it's good enough to keep spammers out or else it's very easy to join any forum that uses this mod and spam away.

They require the same thing most forums require. Image verification and email verification.

I just re-installed everything.. every single file.. running 1.1.2 now.. When I click Connect With Facebook, nothing pops up.. I am using IE7, no pop up blocker or anything.

DJScorpio 12-14-2008 11:58 PM

i have uninstalled this mod untill its up to scratch. at the moment its abit basic. VERY VERY good mod tho . Very good idea. will be huge and most prob used by every VB User in the future.. keep working at it.. i think you should spend a week. take everyones ideas. get them implemented then release a new version instead of releasing 1 everyday . i will be checking back in a few weeks to see the progress. keep up the good work

Does it work when you try mine? http://diecastcrazy.com/community/forums.php

If so, then maybe something is wrong with your files or code. If not, then it's something beyond that I guess. It works on all browsers for me.

nerofix 12-15-2008 02:21 AM

I have questions:

1) When login with a facebook account, it will create a vbulletin account right?

2) Once this vb account is created, is the email adress and password also saved in the vb database, so they could login next time without their facebook details and only with their vb account? I ask this because I'm interested what happens if they delete their facebook account, but want to stay in our vbulletin.

3) Which data exactly will be taken from facebook? In example, we have custom profile fields for "real name" .. would it be possible to import this real name data from facebook too?

That's all your supposed to see at the end of the URL. It opens a Javascript "window" within thhe window. If your not getting anything, it's likely you need to carefully double check your template edits.

I think we're dealing with a whole lot of user error in most cases.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm going to try and answer these questions...

1. Yes.

2. No email address is saved or password, only a username. You'd have to manually update the profile if a user wanted to login directly to the forum.

3. No data seems to be taken yet. Hopefully in a future update the coder will figure out how to do this.

I was using IE7, and I fixed it by clearing my temporary internet files, clearing cookies, etc etc, then closed all my IE windows and tried again. Worked fine. I would try that.

pete_brady 12-15-2008 06:57 AM

this may have been covered already, but for anyone not getting the popup just make sure the callback URL ends with a trailing slash (yoururl.xxx/forum/). I was experiencing the same problem until i fixed this. Oddly enough it worked in IE7 but not in FF3 or Chrome.

dannykilla 12-15-2008 09:37 AM

Would this hack work alongside the Wordpress + vBulletin intregation hack ?

Dan

I never see the Feed Dialog like http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/...es_to_Facebook. I only see the other in notifications

In CNET, when you publish a comment, a window pop up with the "PUBLISH THIS STORY TO YOUR FACEBOOK PROFILE?". Is implemented here?

It saves a proxy email address which apparently leads to your facebook email - not tried it though.

jlew24asu 12-15-2008 10:17 AM

big thanks to slik for his support in this thread.

Big-K 12-15-2008 11:57 AM

I have done everything from A-Z; templates, re upload, import product, yet its not working.

Could it be because I'm working at a second level URL? e.g http://www.domain.com/TEST/forum/

DJScorpio 12-15-2008 12:54 PM

whats not actually work.. is the image showing up to log in etc.. getting error messages?

H@v0c 12-15-2008 01:04 PM

Doesn't work with Photoplog:

Code:

Warnung: require_once(./includes/facebook/facebook.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]\includes\functions.php(5600) : eval()'d code (Zeile 5)

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './includes/facebook/facebook.php' (include_path='.;./includes;./pear') in D:\inetpub\vhosts\i-mod-productions.com\httpdocs\includes\functions.php(5600) : eval()'d code on line 5

Please help, it's urgent!

I think you need to add the current directory (.) to your php include path.
