You have a trojan in one of those ads on your site. I would suggest you remove most of those and upgrade your forums. Thats probably 99% of your problem.

I'm at work right now and I got this.

http://securityresponse.symantec.com...041114-2838-99

I also get a stacked overflow error on your home page.

testebr 07-09-2007 01:21 PM

Nix, can you add support to this website www.spikedhumor.com ?

Thanks

Tralala 07-09-2007 02:46 PM

What does "Added Video Titles" mean (new feature in 3.0.9?) I updated to the latest version (3.0.9.2,) but am not seeing "video titles" at the top of video embedded by this hack.

Also, I can't get Brightcove video to work; says "Unsupported media type." Here is a sample:
http://link.brightcove.com/services/...tid=1078717264

Is there a different URL format I should be using?

Tralala 07-09-2007 02:47 PM

Lastly, the Admin option: "Use AnyMedia Player for which video sites?: Check the sites which you want to use AnyMedia player to player the videos from them. Otherwise, AnyMedia will use the Player of their own, which may include the site Logo or some Links to the site."

...has no box in which to check sites.

And when it's checked, it doesn't seem to work... all sites use their own player.

Ftu-forum 07-09-2007 02:49 PM

Nice, the problem's inform is persist.
but seems thats, the player can't play :| no matter how many time i click the button 'play'
Thought, 'click here to download' still working

mrmike 07-09-2007 03:02 PM

Great work Nix!

Just 1 problem, the Footer does'nt show in IE - but works great in FF.

I'm running 3.54.

Tried to revert anymedia temp.

If their is a title to fetch it will put it at the bottom of the player.

What page was that brightcove link from?

Thats an old setting. Video sites have change their crosssite.xml so that feature doesn't work anymore. It was a huge security issue for those sites.

Gotcha. I have yet to see this working... do you have a sample link I could try this with?

I don't know, someone posted it on my forum. I guess it's gotta be a standard link from brightcove.com instead...

Understood. This admin option should be removed then, to eliminate confusion.

Thanks for your great work on this!

I'll clean up the admin side of things here soon. Just wanted to make sure everything is working.

Here is what it looks like with the titles.Attachment 66779

Thank you for the quick 3.0.9.2! For those who have 3.0.9.1 right now, do we have to undo the old hack and change the template files again or just uploading files would take care of it?
Thanks

Thanks for this preview... just wanted to report that I'm not seeing titles at all on my forum (despite running 3.0.9.2 successfully otherwise.)

I even tried with the same sample video... both the original and the new "beta" version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TYzRanykbQ&v2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TYzRanykbQ&v3

... and neither show the title "Soundwave: The Touch" that is expected.

All I see is "Link to Original" (because I have "Show the download link" enabled in AdminCP.)

Anything I can try, in order to troubleshoot?

RedGTiVR6 07-10-2007 02:01 PM

EDIT: nevermind

closed all other windows and found that the FTP had hung waiting for confirmation from me to overwrite files.

ammoskumar 07-10-2007 02:43 PM

You don't have to undo the old hack or redo the template edits. Just upload the files and import the product.

Upgrading wont mess anything up. Make sure you have the latest template and make sure you divx web plugin is current. If you're still having a problem after that I'll look at your forum for you.

nix 07-10-2007 06:29 PM

Well you're right, but you forgot something... this hack was in the vault, and static for a long time, and here we have a Coder who's fully proactive with his work, so... we just need to catch up with him...

opinions, opinions

rchelifan 07-11-2007 03:55 AM

I just installed the 3.0.9.3. Youtube is still working. Myspace vidoe now is working but Photobucket, i get "Error: Failed to parse file URL. "
Is there anything wrong I did?

nix 07-11-2007 04:06 AM

whats the url you used? I changed it to the url link thats on the right hand side. It seemed most people where trying to use that.

http://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m...tAboutTime.flv

Something like that.

If this version holds up i'll start on 3.1.

allow_url_fopen

Ah, that. I'm aware of quite a few hosts who have disabled the PHP option allow_url_fopen, and thus have disallowed file_get_contents()... for security reasons. (Not just Dreamhost, who I'm with.) Apparently cURL is more secure, and is a feature-rich alternative.

http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Allow_url_fopen

The good news is, in every instance that this has come up this far with other mods, I've let them know about cURL and they were able to substitute that as a solid fix/workaround. I just did a vB.org search and see plenty of instances to back this up. I'm hoping that's possible here with your mod. :)

And thanks again for resurrecting this excellent hack. It's very much appreciated.

Dailymotion and yahoo will require me to make a script that searches their page for the video information. The way they have it set up its not possible the normal way.

nix, keep up the FANTASTIC work... and thanks for sharing it with us. This is a very important and worthwhile hack that was in danger of abandoned. You've saved it and made it even better. You rock, dude.

nix 07-11-2007 10:05 PM

I got the titles working with curl now. I also have yahoo and dailymotion working.

Extreme John 07-12-2007 12:31 AM

I want to install this, my main reason being for break.com, do you forese that site being added anytime in the near future? If so Ill wait for that. Appreciate it.

halcyoncmdr 07-12-2007 12:50 AM

I am curious if it is possible to have the download link option be user-selectable as well. For example there would be an AdminCP option for global download links, and then it could be disabled for each individual media embed if you wanted. Just an idea I had suddenly :)
