Hi Chris & djbaxter,
Still the same issues bugging me.. 1. How to set a sender email. All the the email send from my forum is having blank from address. 2. Please tell me how to send HTML mails. If i add HTML code ( Say the default code in your hack) the mails received it as code itself, not the HTML formated text. How to enale this. Thanks again for this cool hack. :) |

And since the add-on uses the email address set in your vBulletin configuration, it would suggest to me that either that isn't set correctly or your email server isn't configured correctly. What happens with other emails sent by your forum? Like topic reply notifications? |
will this work on vbulletin 3.5??
|
installed this on my board 3.5 had to add the cron manually, but it works a treat, great hack thankyou
|
Updated thnks :)
|
How funny...I was just thinking this morning how I needed something like this! Thank you!!
|
Hi djbaxter
Thank you very much for replying.. All the other forum mails are working fine with sender as admin@mydomain.com.. But where to set the forum to send HTML emails. I thought i was also a hack, right? |
Are you able to receive HTML emails from other sources in your email client? When your forum sends out other emails, are they plain text or HTML/rich text (do you see clickable links in your forum emails)?
|
there is a bug. My Email Frequency is 1 but the plungs sending all 2-4 days a email. That turn people crazy!!
|
I've checked the logs and none have been sent out.

This is from the log when I just ran it manually. Attachment 62448 |

Set your email frequency to something longer than 1. At that setting, it will try to send out emails to every inactive user every day. Set it to something reasonable like 30, or 60, or 90 (days). Or longer if you wish. |

Also, you have it set to run once per day. at 3 minutes past midnight. |
Also, I just noticed, that first screenshot is for the Activation Reminder, not this mod.

Same story in the other screenshots before that...:D Observant, aren't I?
|
I'd just like to say I have seen a few members come back after just a week of running this. The day I turned it on, I had at least 5 names show up in the WOL that I hadn't seen in months.
Thanks! |
What about these other conditions?

Well guys, I really loved this hack thanks Braithwaite! and thanks djbaxter for your help... I ve installed this hack last week. I ve just noticed that it still sends e-mails to the banned users... what should I do? Banned usergroup is 8 in my board and I didnt add them in the AdminCP where it says: Code:
List the usergroups that you wish to send the emails to here. (Seperate by commas) eg. 2,3,4,7 Code:
$result = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SELECT * FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "user WHERE lastactivity < '$datetime[lastpost]' AND emailDate < '$datetime[lastemail]' AND options & 16 LIMIT $quantity"); thanks a million |
Nice Mod, thank you and clicked Install. ;)
|
Thanks for this program. I just installed it, and sent out the e-mails. I am hoping to get a few members back. Thanks once again for this great mod!
MOTM Nominee for me! |

I don't understand why the code needs fixing? |
What I was asking you about was what other settings could there be where email would not get sent? Should I ask that question in the other forum for general questions?

the code works like this:
if a users is considered inactive, is a member of specified usergroups, and has selected to be sent admin emails then an email will be sent. if any one of the previous is not true then an email will not be sent. if you increase the quantity, it is more likely to send emails out. Quote:
make sure your users which are banned are not part of any other usergroups. the code will check each member against the list of usergroups specified, and if they are a member of that usergroup then they will be sent an email. it uses vbulletin's is_member_of function. |
This is such a great mod.
I would like to see Version Checking being added to next iteration as well as the ability to edit the email it sends out to users |
hey guys, i uploaded the php file to /includes/cron/
and i have installed the mod and uploaded the xml using the upload tool whilst installing the product, but nothing has shown in my options, it is not there and i know this for shure because i have done a ctrl+f and searched for it, please help :D |

yes it is in the products list but it won't show in the admin panel. I don't think it is sending emails out either. Please help :D

to the best of my knowledge the product file is formed correctly, and so should install properly. maybe an error on your board? Check the task log to see if emails have been sent, and if it's in the task list. im sure that it's set to be off by default, but cant remember for sure now. |
Such a great mod, installed!
Is there anyway I could find out who the module sent the reminder emails to? (ie. a log) |
Installed and thanks for such a kick ass hack!
