still havent figured it out on how to get it on the main glossary page but it does show up on other pages so far I have added it to but one problem if you select say the letter A then it will bring you to a blank page

DementedMindz 05-30-2007 03:12 AM

thank you very much Amenadiel that worked when I compared the 2 files together. :)

captainslater 06-23-2007 09:31 AM

Are you planning to update this in the near future?

SS9267547 06-23-2007 10:06 AM

Not any time soon, sorry.

rayw 06-24-2007 11:25 AM

A little unfortunate. Great mod, just needs a few small bugs fixed and it would be fantastic. :)

RvG2 07-10-2007 01:46 PM

is this working fine on 3.6.7 pl1? :)

Yes, it works fine on it ;)

RvG2 07-20-2007 06:15 PM

SS9267547 sorry to ask again... I have a good glossary database but having the crosslinking would be so so so great.

I hope you will re-consider to code again. :)

Scandal 08-07-2007 09:29 AM

I have installed it!
But I have one problem and one question :)

1. I want to remove ''Search in:'' menu, and make the Search glossary titles & text as default. How?

2. I have a problem with search!
when i type a word which is on glossary i have the message: Please specify some words to search on. There were no matches for those that you specified.
My default language is Greek and when i turn to English all working normal!
[terms are in Greek].

Thanks and sorry for my bad english! :D

Scandal 08-09-2007 03:01 PM

any idea pls?
When I change the language the search is ok!
:(

EvilHawk 08-10-2007 07:35 AM

The search works fine with Greek ...

What's your language charset?
[AdminCP > Languages & Phrases > Language Manager > Greek - Edit Settings ]

?

If i change the charset, the characters become '' , ?????????????? / ??????????'' e.t.c. and the search on glossary works fine!

jazde86 08-12-2007 04:19 PM

I can't edit a term, it says this term already exists. :(

Steigeisen 08-15-2007 06:17 AM

I would also like to change the default setting "search in title" to "search in title and text".

Very often guests come to my site via a search engine that has found the term in my glossary. But the guest enters the term and does not notice the options he has on the right. He gets an error message, saying the term has not been found and away he is again, without registering or giving more attention to the site. :(

I already changed the phrase saying that there is the possibility to search in text. It does not help, people just don't read enough.

How can I change the default setting?

Thanks and best regards
Steigeisen

Jepp, here too. I think there is a fix here in this thread somewhere, I just didn't dare to change the code yet. :)

Just copy the term, then delete it and enter it new by paste and edit it before saving it.
Little workaround... :)

jazde86 08-17-2007 11:10 AM

Or edit it directly in the ACP.

I recall that the problem exists in the ACP also, I entered all of my glossary terms in the ACP and I was not able to edit them there either. But hey, it's not that a big problem, it would just be "nice to have" if the edit would work.

Anyone any idea on my question as to change the default setting of the "search in" options?

I had the same problem and... I change the EDIT link from some templates and now, when I click ''EDIT'' to a term from the list, I edit it from admincp, not from the forum :)

In templates glossary_listterms , glossary_view and glossary_searchresult , find:
Quote:

<td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="glossary.php?$session[sessionurl]do=edit&term=$displayterm[glossaryid]" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[glossary_editterm]</a></td>
replace /change to:
Quote:

<td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="admincp/admin_glossary.php?s=&$session[sessionurl]do=edit&glossaryid=$displayterm[glossaryid]" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[glossary_editterm]</a></td>
[sorry for my bad english!]

In templates:
GLOSSARY
GLOSSARY_CAT
GLOSSARY_LIST &
GLOSSARY_RESULTS find:
Quote:

<select name="searchoptions">
<option value="1" $optionselect[1]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_titles_only]</option>
<option value="2" $optionselect[2]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_text_only]</option>
<option value="3" $optionselect[3]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_text_and_titles]</option>
</select>
and replace with:
Quote:

<select name="searchoptions">
<option value="3" $optionselect[3]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_text_and_titles]</option>
<option value="2" $optionselect[2]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_text_only]</option>
<option value="1" $optionselect[1]>$vbphrase[glossary_search_titles_only]</option>
</select>
;)

I have do this on my site.. [the Mindestic GlosPro is used as a dictionary of synonyms] and the words is practically more on the members' eyes :)

Steigeisen 08-18-2007 07:18 PM

you are my hero, philos2!

thank you so much, it works just fine!

thanks again and greetings
Happy Steigi :)

Hi,

I have this error message if I open a topic at the Mindestic GlosPro 1.2.2 :

Warnung: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 62 in /includes/functions_glossary.php (Zeile 56)

But the message comes only as member. Guest don' have this error message. What's the problem ?

The correct code to search for (to replace) is:
Code:

<td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="glossary.php?$session[sessionurl]do=edit&term=$displayterm[glossaryid]" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[glossary_editterm]</a></td>

Got a problem. Enabled crosslinking and trailing image. Trailing image does not show up. Also, the popup does not show up either.

I also tried to edit a glossary term (via forum not admin panel) and it gives me this error when I submit

"There is already a glossary term named 'Bible'. You may not create duplicate names."

The editor is also cramped

Chadi 09-19-2007 07:14 PM

I corrected the previous errors.

How can we prevent this mod from removing the original format. For example, if text is already bold and red, this mod removes the formatting when crosslinking is enabled.

Chadi 09-21-2007 10:43 AM

Seems like I found a bug. Within the glossary itself, all the crosslinked words are showing a blank page.

rayw 09-21-2007 12:32 PM

I wish development on this Mod would start again. It's a fantastic mod, even at it's current stage. SOOOO much potential. :)

Fronty 10-26-2007 10:58 AM

Something went wrong with my settings, just don't know what, but my Crosslink popup is showing up empty. I even reinstalled the script completly, but no effect. HELP!
