1. You have to define an image to be used for each usergroup before it will display.

2. You have to set the add-on to auto-approve additions to the map OR make sure you manually approve additions.

Got it to work for me after wrestling with my understanding of usergroup images/permissions and finally setting the auto-approve to on.

the auto-approve is on and the map was working great. but then i move to an other server and then the markers at the member map and of the locations map are not displayed :(

the Markers are not updated, if a User change the Usergroup.
I Change a User from Registered User to another Usergroup (primary too), but the Marker is Yellow for registred User and not in the new color for the new Usergroup.

I confirm the same problem as MrD, but in my case the markers of "unapproved" views, after clicking "change status" in admincp does not get added to the map.

Several have asked for this so far but I haven't see a response. Would it be possible to disable the image information for the users that have pins on the map. If someone links to a slow host it causes the map to populate very slowly while it waits for the users image information to be populated. We'd like to get rid of it completely. Please advise.

how do you set the file permissions on the markers.xml file to 777?

please explain it in a way where i newbie can understand :(

Now i'm no expert myself but you are obviously using a FTP program to upload the files to the server.

Depending on the program but they should all be very similar, right click on the selected file(s) and change the file attributes to 777.. This is basically selecting all the available options for the file.

but here are my other problems.

1. is there away to only show certain groups on the list. there are 8 groups.
but i do not have anybody as super moderators, coppa etc so its pointless for those usergroups to show.

2. showmainmap

when I press these buttons i get a error page. i think the problem is the url adress for all these buttons. because the adress on the adress bar does not match where i uploaded the files to my server. how do i change the url for each of these buttons so they are directed to the correct source.

3. in the markers.xml file, there is nothing but a code that has the word markers twice. do i need to enter any code in there? (i know i sound like a complete fool but sorry i m very new to this :( )

4. when I got my api key from googlemap, it showed an example of some codes underneith my code and said "your page should look like this" do i do anything with that code or ignore it?

any help would be highly appreciated. thanks

After updating the markers to where the users are at don't seem to display

Make sure you upload the marker files to all your styles.

That should fix it.

Also run the cron once or update your location yourself to force the recreate of the markers.xml file.

If you uninstalled completely it may be required to reassign the markers to the different usergroups.

Edit:

I downloaded the markers.xml from your server and ran it on my dev server and everything looks ok.

The install went without incident and everything seems to be working fine.

When you are ready to work on new features, we'd really like to see the ability to turn off the add image to your marker functionality. Great work on the hack. It's one of my favorites!

That is a non blocking one but I updated the package to remove the error.

Just upload /includes/cron/vbgooglemapme_cron.php again and that error should be gone now

Cron ran successfully but still no markers show :|
The marker image files are correctly in the right folder and in usergroup legend they display fine as well
I tried removing the marker point then did it again still dosen't show :(
