IvyKeepMommy 11-03-2007 08:06 PM

I've installed it, but had a weird thing happen when I tried to apply to all forums it took me to my smilie listing page... it happened three times, so the only way to set the post count is individually by forum...

Any ideas?

Valter 11-03-2007 10:34 PM

You must be SuperAdmin to be able to access this page.

apiasto 11-08-2007 10:54 AM

ok i got it,u have be signed in as a user id 1 or who ever is set as the owner in your config.php.i tried it as a super admin and it took me to smilies.so make sure you are logged in as user id 1 nick, usually who has all the authorities in acp, good luck.

targa_freak 11-08-2007 04:53 PM

very nice hack! does someone know a good permissions-hack, which is based on registration-time or something like that?

haytham 11-09-2007 04:12 PM

Is there a way around this hack? I've put a post restriction on a forum but I'd like one of my members, who doesn't have the right post count, to be able to enter it? Is there a workaround for this to be done?

Either increase his post count manually or move/add him to usergroup which is excluded from restrictions.

Audentio 11-10-2007 02:55 PM

We need an addition on this for editing signatures. Not just putting links in there, actually editing the signatures require x posts.

iou1 11-12-2007 12:28 AM

OMG this is exactly what I needed! VB permissions were not working with my templates (not compatible or something?) and this worked like a charm. :D

Thank you!!!!!!

Anybody? Can't this be done? I need it urgently. People increase their post count by copying "Thanks" and pasting in replies to increase their post count. I'd like to restrict enterance based on thread count which is more useful.

You can use vbulletin's built-in promotions function to do this.

Zeppelin_62 12-01-2007 05:23 PM

Just did this install as directed:

Installation:
Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count - set options here

When I go to AdminCP > vBulletin Options, I do not see 'Cyb Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count' in the list. Do I have to do something else to get it to show in the list?

I see it in the 'manage products' list, so I know its there.

dragtech 12-03-2007 12:48 AM

I'm sure this has been asked and it should be obvious, But for some reason it's not!.

Will this work with 3.6.6

malluroses 12-03-2007 09:00 PM

Hai CYB

Iam getting this fatal error dont know wt to do can u help me with this please thankz.

Code:

Fatal error: Field customimg is not defined in $validfields in class vb_datamanager_forum in /includes/class_dm.php on line 485

papill0n 12-08-2007 10:42 AM

Great mod but may I suggest adding an option so that it actually hides categories/forums from members until they reach the required post count.

I'm now finding members are post boosting random crap just to get there post count up to get access to the hidden parts of my board all because they can see them now but cant access due to not having enough posts.

leitel 12-20-2007 03:10 AM

Looks very interesting. Does it block spiders? Thanks! :)

Zaiaku 12-27-2007 01:24 AM

Tried installing this mod (version 4.2) on v3.7.0 beta 3, gives an error of
"Invalid File Specified"

Lean Bodies 12-27-2007 05:57 PM

Does this mod allow you to set a restriction based on last posting date? Or something similar?

For example what if someone has ample posts, but hasn't posted in a month. I'd think this would encourage people to continue posting?

No it doesn't. Just overall postcont. You could easily make a mod to do that but pulling alot of infomation .

i confirm this

Shazz 12-28-2007 10:19 PM

Be patient for cyb to update almost all his mods lol.

Zaiaku 12-28-2007 11:34 PM

Actually from all the mods I use of his this is the only one that has gave me a problem so far.

DieselStorm 01-01-2008 06:30 PM

Will this allow me to disable them from having Signatures until their post count is X numbers?

Todecay 01-03-2008 09:18 PM

I like this mod but as most of these kind it is based on post count and not NEW THREAD COUNT.

So if a user spams (f.i.) 15 posts he/she can download attachments but I just want to let users download after 15 NEW THREADS STARTED, get it ;)

Anyone else a solution?

Fat__Hunter 01-04-2008 12:04 AM

Thanks for this wonderful mod.

In class_dm_user.php, the following hook is called on line 2390 (to which the error refers):
private_insertpm_process

The only plugin I have at the hook is:
Cyb - Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count - PMs

I went ahead and disabled the hook call, the problem is gone.

Please help.

Thanks for this great hack!

Same problems here too :(

Once I disabled this hack the error was sorted.

It appears from my install that it will disable links or images from signatures if they don't reach the post count requirement. If you want to completely disable sigs for people without X posts and don't need the other features, you may want to try the vbseo conditional sigs mod.

Thanks for this mod, by the way! Worked like a charm for me, and I really liked the listing of who they can PM for users who are restricted to PMing staff only based on postcounts. In addition to driveby spammers, this will help us with a few folks who have signed up specifically to bother current members.

Can you make an add-on disable/available for poll/vote thread?

Thats what I'm wanting too.

I don't like the promotions where you have to make a whole new usergroup.

nfn 01-30-2008 08:36 AM

Hi,

Something wrong with my setup.
I'm using 4.2 with vB3.6.8 and I only enabled:

Enable Whole Hack: Yes
Links/Images Posting Permissions: Yes
Set post count requirements: All Forums with 5 Posts.
Disallow posting of e-mail addresses too: Yes

For url links it works , but for email links no?

What I'm doing wrong?

Thanks
nfn

Cybernetec said that all of his modifications will be updated after vBulletin 3.7 goes Gold.
