Either you dont have flashchat installed or its not in the standard location, so you need to set the option to tell the mod where to find it.

astrat 02-24-2008 01:24 PM

Hi Paul,

First .. thanks for the prompt response .. you'll have to bear with me I'm a newbie at all of this.

I have the latest version of flashchat installed ver 4.8.3 and I'm using VB 3.6.8

I did install your mod for incorporating FC into VB and that is working great.

How and where do I find how to set the option telling VB where your mod is ??? Is this during the import of the mode or somewhere in the mod itself ??

Thanks for your patience

From the main post :)

9. The location of the flashchat folder is now an ACP option

(Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Is Using Flashchat).

Hi Paul ...

Not sure if your reply was to me or not ...........

I don't see this option in VCP ... maybe because the install crashes the site ... as above

That message is not an installation error, to get that it must have installed itself.

Please read post #324, it tells you where the options are located - "Location of FlashChat Folder" is the one you want.

Phaedrus 03-17-2008 02:55 AM

Why would this not show how many users are in the room next to "Members currently in the Chat Room:"?

Thanks.

Paul M 03-17-2008 10:50 AM

Probably because you have customised the phrase at some point so its missing the parameter.

Ah, the showspiders hack then.

What phrase is it looking for and where? Will I be able to fix it easily?

Do I just add the $Phrase into the Display_Chatters template in the right place?

Installed, thanks!

Thank you for your FC mods!

Great mod... it really helped me get a vBa module setup as well :)

For those of you using vBa and not able to get a module/block working...

Make sure you go to vBadvanced CMPS Options -> Main Options -> Portal Output Global Variables... Add totalchatters and chatters. I have chatmax as well but I modified the plugin so chatters only displays the names instead of both the names and the record # of chatters.

If anyone might know how to remove the color from $chatters it would be very helpful. I did this with my onlineusers.php some time ago but I don't think this method applies to the who is chatting mod. If I find out how I'll post it up in case someone else may find it useful.

Paul?

What phrase do I need to add to which template? I'd love to be informed when people enter the room without having to have it extended all the time.

Thanks!

Paul M 04-11-2008 01:39 AM

Revert the "wic_using_flashchat" phrase.

Phaedrus 04-13-2008 03:07 PM

I know what happened. I forgot the {1}...

Duh.

segwayon 04-15-2008 01:48 AM

Could editing the phrase "Members currently using Flashchat:" within Phrase Manager have stopped the integer from showing up? It lists members underneath but not the number of members anymore.

I don't recall having seen any markup codes with the edit of that phrase. Any pointers appreciated.

Aha! I see the answer right above in Phaedrus' issue. Thanks for a cool product!

Hi Paul, thank you so much for your efforts on this hack, it is excellent.

I was just still wondering if the Who is using FlashChat box is still unable to move....i see that post was back in Sep. of '06 and was just checking to make sure i didnt miss a mod that allowed users to move the box.

Thank You for your time!

Brad

Its always possible to move it if you know what you are doing and are prepared to edit templates/options as needed. I however cannot help with such changes or support them.

The 3.8 version of this mod installs fine but this 3.6x version is getting failed to open stream errors with Flashchat 5.0.10 even though the file listed in the error exists.

(/chat/inc/config.php on line 5 and 11) ~ Flashchat 5.0.10 is working on 3.6.8 BTW...

Any idea what's going on here?

I installed a older version of Flashchat (4.7.8) and that fixed the problem. Mod's working fine.
Also worth mentioning, the older version of Flashchat appears to work much better. The new version (5.0.10) is extremely buggy.

Jensers 01-29-2009 06:01 AM

Agreed - I had the same problems, the same results. 5.0.10 is not ready.

Joe Blow 08-10-2009 07:02 AM

Anyone know how to get this working with Flashchat 5.0.11?

I'm running vbulletin 3.6.12

wacnstac 10-15-2009 12:24 AM

Ported this post to the correct thread. I am having problems with this plugin giving me corrupted characters before it correctly posts the number of people in the chat. Please see the screenshot below:

See the %1$s that's what I'm talking about.

Paul M 10-15-2009 07:32 PM

I cannot see a screenshot, but what you describe normally means the phrase has been customised in the past, you need to revert it (drop the custom version).
