Does it work well with 3.7 Beta 5??

Phaedrus 03-01-2008 03:20 AM

Crap I tried upgrading but keep getting an error with the xml file...
Code:

Invalid SQL:
CREATE TABLE `custom_droplinks` (
  `linkid` mediumint(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `url` varchar(120) NOT NULL default '',
  `name` varchar(100) NOT NULL default '',
  `new_window` tinyint(2) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
  `alt` varchar(60) NOT NULL default '',
  `number` int(20) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
  `image` varchar(230) NOT NULL default '',
  `link_perms` varchar(100) NOT NULL default '',
  PRIMARY KEY  (`linkid`)
);;

Now I won't be able to add anything because the files we upload change how it works too....

*sigh*

What is up with this?

Phaedrus 03-02-2008 06:30 AM

I had to uninstall the old version before I could load this one. It worked after the uninstall...

solidlink 03-04-2008 03:08 AM

mine couldnt really work properly... im using vbadvanced... look at my site: limeroll.com

no links appear, however after you click on "forums" at the left sidebar and get directed to the forums, then you'll see the "links" button on the navbar. can someone help?

Phaedrus 03-04-2008 03:11 AM

Go into your ACP --> vBa CMPS --> Default Settings
Look for "Portal Output Global Variables". Add the following into the text area.
Code:

custom_singlelinks
custom_droplinks
custom_droplinks_cat

I'm running on 3.7 RC3 and it's working fine for me.

RedTrinity 05-02-2008 11:47 AM

I seem to be having problems running this on my new 3.7 VBlueize template... still have all the info in the ACP from previously, yet when I added the fields to this new template, the dropdowns don't seem to work

The menu links for this add-on are listed on the navbar, but they don't do anything when you click on them.

Would appreciate some help :)

ETA: Nevermind, I forgot to add the $custom_droplinks at the end

Skyrider 05-27-2008 09:42 AM

I love this addon/plugin, but I'm having big problems with this on custom themes.. This one is using buttons as navbar, and I have no idea what code to add in order to make the drop down menu to work on the new theme.

team76 05-30-2008 07:32 PM

how can one make it function on 3.7.1?

one_sad_episode 06-05-2008 09:54 PM

Yeah, I just upgraded to 3.7.1 and it's toast! We need an update! Best mod ever!

AdmiralSpock 06-07-2008 11:32 AM

Using on 3.7... editing the links do not work, did anyone ever find a solution to this? Thanks!

ETDC 06-24-2008 07:01 PM

^ Need this too - any alternatives?

ETDC 06-24-2008 11:44 PM

I need to either update or uninstall this as it's corrupted in 3.7.2.

I'd rather uninstall in the meantine though - can anyone help?

oatsy 07-13-2008 01:00 PM

I've just tried it in 3.7.2 Patch 1 and it seems to be working fine (as far as I can tell from the two links I've added).

Edit: sorry - doesn't seem to let me edit a link once it's created. So if I want to change a link I have to delete it (that works ok) and recreate with the changes.

kizzmet 07-14-2008 07:39 PM

This works great for me on 3.7.2 thanks!!!

Kiint 07-14-2008 08:36 PM

Working fine on 3.7.2 PL1, can add/edit/delete as normal no problems at all.

inciarco 09-08-2008 05:27 PM

Is there a way to Include vBulletin Phrases such as $vbphrase[phrasex] to be able to Manage Various Languages??

How can that be done??

I tried to introduce $vbphrase[phrasex] in the Title Field and No Result, appears "$vbphrase[phrasex]" and not the vBulletin Phrase "phrasex".

(Works in vB373 but when a Stand-Alone Link is Created and then Edited the First Link on the Dropdown Menu is Changes to the Edition of the Stand-Alone Link).

My Best Regards.

:)

GoTTi 09-23-2008 08:20 AM

any way you can make this alphabetically list the links inteh right order without having to go into each one and move it around by altering the number on it? or in the admincp, having it "moveable" so we can drag and drop it to where we want the link? or put the Display # field on the Edit Links & Menus page?

Konstantinos 09-25-2008 09:00 AM

this works for me in 3.7.3

yotsume 10-15-2008 07:49 PM

I think the description of this hack needs updated to let people know it works perfect on vb3.7x! Many people are missing this gem! Your hack is nearly perfect and gives people full control of their navbar! No other menu hack comes close to this. This should be added to VB as standard code!

I recently pimped my vbBlogs drop menu using your awesome hack. I see many people searching for a way to make menus and using other hacks. THEY ARE ALL CRAZY! LOL

How can you beat this hack which allows you to make any and all navbar menus, drop or stand alone, include menu images, and has full permission control!

Again, please update you mod description or post it again in the 3.7x forum for other to find this! Can we say nominated for MOD of the YEAR!!!

If you make a new menu you need to also add sub links to that menu for it to work. There is a difference between a menu and a stand alone link. You have three options listed below.
  • Add Menu (creates drop menu but you have to add sub links for it to work)
  • Add Link to Menu (adds sub links to menus you created above)
  • Add Stand-Alone Link (makes single links on their own)
You must "Enter the URL of a site" and enter the "Name". You do not haver to enter "Hover Text" or an "Image Path". The hover text is just to add some popup text when a user hovers over the link and the image path is if you want to have an image next to the links. Both of these are not required.

The only bug that I believe there is, at least when using this hack with vb3.7x, is that once you make a link to edit it's settings, you have to delete it and remake it with your corrections for the changes to stick.

davida500 12-04-2008 02:38 PM

I have ran out of room on my NavBar i think......

Whenever i go to add a new link it says its done, but it doesnt shot, and i think its becuase the navbar is full.

Is there any way that i can make it so there is more room by having like another nav bar right underneath the current one or something like that.

If this is possible, or if someone would let me know, please say.

Thanks.

David.

terminator2k2 01-08-2009 09:55 AM

does it work under 3.8?

gorentals 01-08-2009 11:15 AM

Is there a mod that is compatible to 3.7 that works with no issues? This mod seems awesome and should be standard code in vbulletin.

terminator2k2 01-08-2009 12:55 PM

this works fine in 3.7.5 ;P but for vb3.8 i'm not really sure

Noonster 01-09-2009 09:33 PM

Works for 3.8 without problems!

yotsume 01-14-2009 08:07 PM

The developer of this mod really needs to post this in the vb3.8x section.

I also agree this needs to be standard built into VB!

voglermc 01-15-2009 02:53 PM

Sweet!

SnowBot 01-28-2009 06:42 PM

seems to have stopped working in 3.8.1

I will have to upgrade my test board and then test this on 3.8.1. If this no longer works then I can no way in hell upgrade a live board!

Yo developer please can you come back to life here and update this mod! :)

TC Topps 01-31-2009 01:32 AM

Harmor19;

I was just wondering if Advanced Navbar could be duplicated in another navbar such as the navbar2? (Another vbulletin.org hack) Is there a way to make an additional navbar with your product built in?)

I tried renaming file name and also editing "navbar" statement within your xml file to "navbar2." When I went to navbar2 template to do editing and I realized that navbar2 is not an exact copy of original navbar template.

The editing for each drop down menu item in Navbar2 template is time consuming. Is there a way to make another navbar that is completely open to adding different drop downs etcetra using Advanced Navabar?

Thanks for your prompt reply,

TC Topps

P.S. I installed standard Advanced Navbar into default vBulletin style. In vB3.8 it works and makes a drop down too.

iou1 01-31-2009 01:51 PM

Beautiful! **Install**

TC Topps 02-06-2009 04:38 PM

Harmor19;

I tried the global variable statements. It made no difference. When I am inside of an VbAdvanced dynamics or links program, if I decide to go to another location on the navbar it gives me a blank browser page with a 404 statement.

Some of the links from with in Dynamics program will work. But others do not. Project Tools does but VbBlog does not. CMPS portal does. Now it seems that CMPS pages that I have made to be wrapped will work the others do not.

So my question is why is the dynamics program directory looking for the blog file inside of dynamics directory and not its proper location inside of the forums directory. I have made the proper forum location statment inside of dyna config.php file.

So can you help me get your fine navbar addition to work. I have 3.1 CMPS, Dynamics 1.1, Vb 3.8. installed

Thanks
TC Topps

TC Topps 02-07-2009 01:21 PM

Hello;

Is this a normal experience. I have found out that these programs from Vbadvanced are in different tables. That I believe means that they can not be queried across table. Is that true?

So as a result that is why I am having the problem with navigation?

If that is the case they are just stand alone programs that need to be accessed differently when using aspects of dynamics and links.

Can someone help me with my conclusions please? I would appreciated it.

Thanks

TC Topps

This seems to work ok on 3.81 but parts of admin are missing but still useable

terminator2k2 04-07-2009 10:19 AM

what about vb3.8.2? or is it not working with both 3.8.1 and 3.8.2?
