thats what i did |
I have a question: would it be possible to install this two times on one board?
One installation for links, and a second installation for photo-album? I think when I change the name in the xml, use different directories and change the table it'll work, but I'm not sure if two versions will collide. At the moment I use this 3.6 add-on on my 3.5.4 board. I am trying to get a good integrated photo album, but what it there has too many problems, and LDM has proven to work fine for links, so why not as photogallery. Using one version has the disadvantages that gallery and links categories will be together, plus I would have to use one lay out etc for both. |
doth my eye deceive me!?!?!
TAGCLOUD??!! sweeet!! when we gunna see some of that in action?? :D ps. awesome stuff as usual andrew...been away but now I'm back...so I'd be happy to test stuff ;) :p |

Seems interesting, thanks

Wow this is amazing, should definitley attempt an easier interface though. :)

Andrew, Strange problem...
I use vBA CMPS, and the option to include modules on other vB pages. When I include my standard page now on the local_links.php, it disables my admin ability to change settings in individual categories. I'm sure you'll need admin on my site to see the issue first hand, just let me know when is good for you? Thanks. |
EDIT:
Question: is it possible to disply images instead of a text link in vBadvanced CMPS hot downloads box? normally when there is a hot download, a text link will be shown. i want to show the text as title and the thumbnail for that download (linked to entry).... thanks in advance |
Noob Question but do I have to create folders for all uploads and if so do I enter the fulll path to it or just the URL. were does it store the files.
How should I set it up root/forums/images/ldm_icons root/LDM_Uploads root/forums/images/file_icons_dir root/forums/images/thumbs_dir chkmd to 777 Also I am not sure of this sitting/ local_file_root_prefix I'm not sure what to put in this box even after reading. Thanks and sorry for being such a noob with this. |
I updated my site and for some reason the CMPS module doesnt update the latest downloads

There is an easier way to achieve what you want... Most of the layout settings (linkbit, category style, etc) can be set on a per-category basis as well as globally. Basically, these settings are 'inherited' from parent to child, so each category either uses its own settings or looks to its parent. So set up a new branches in your LDM, e.g. with a top level called 'photos'. On the add/edit category page for 'photos' choose the second tab (Control Settings) and define the layout that you want for this category and its children. E.g. tell LDM to use the photo linkbit. |

The first step is that each filetype that you want to work in the jukebox must have a 'Content-type' entry in the VB admin attachments table - I think someone else has posted that message. Then take a look at http://www.eirma.org/wikis/index.php...DM#The_Jukebox |

If you have any LDM entries that point to files held on the local server (your own or uploads), check that these are still working correctly - there should be no problems. |

There is no need to disable before upgrading. However, if you want to stop your users from seeing LDM while you do the upgrade, switch off VB (VB admincp). |

Most of the items on the link add/edit form can be disabled by setting/unsetting the various permissions on the LDM/Admin/Permissions page. I understand your previous points about LDM looking complex at first -- this is a consequence of providing the flexibility that people have asked for. I agree that we now need a 'first time' admin script to set up the basics. It's just a matter of finding the time to provide it. |

Can you check that mouse right click/save as work ok with force_redirect=0. The problem that you are reporting seems to happen when another piece of software has 'taken control' of your browser's downloads. The garbage you are seeing on the screen is almost certainly the contents of the mp3 file. A usual culprit is QuickTime. There is a minor change available to LDM to force downloads to work properly, which I can describe if necessary. |

I hope you had good holidays (if you had holidays). So many questions to answer... Thanks, I never even saw that possibility :o. I already had a copy with every script, table and reference renamed, but was waiting for you to return. Glad I did. I just made two main categories Links and Photoalbum, and changed the navbar template to refer to them from different buttons. Have to get some photo's in to see if it works, but I don't doubt that at all. I already thought this is a great add-on, but I now even think better of it :) . |
Andrew, I searched the code from the 3.5 version. I'm looking for the piece for the autocreate-threads plugin that adds the thumbnail image during the autocreate-threads process?
I have also upgraded to the latest beta, and I'm still having an issue with getting my settings working if I include the vBA CMPS page. It used to work, not with the latest though. |

No New Downloads.. for some reason everything new that i add is dated: 01-01-1970
I have recently upgraded vb to 3.6 and i upgraded the LDM 2.2.5 .. i have uninstalled and installed LDM 2.25 twice now.. including removing all files and replacing with new ones and overwriting the product with new installation xml. So how do i fix this??? |

I hope you had a good trip. and welcome back to the busy ground :) I don't think joining with vbux is a good idea for LDM, since as my opion vbux is a mess for now, it taking a big part into the VB database, creating the forum slow down, they still need a lot of works done .. For a small forum, i think vbux is doing fine, but for a busy forum, i think it's not a good idea to put vbux into it I've had installed vbux 4 times, and uninstalled it as many times.. if so, LDM will stand as one spot if LDM integrated into vbux .. i think it's much better for LDM to stand alone for now.. the LDM design is much stronger as it is now (such as DBs <-- mainly and codes).. and I don't think it will be if it integrated with vbux. |
:) Welcome Andrew! Hope you had a nice time.

Andrew, I realise you are busy, please help .
The problem is stated few posts above, have been trying to get it to work. My new downloads which are scanned in from local directory are dated 01-01-1970 If i edit the filename and change the date, then it does show up as the latest download! But, how do i get it to automatically give the file latest date? Im on latest Vb3.6 and also ldm 2.25 thanks..... :) |

AndrewD I have a problem when submitting links.
When submitted it says "this page is not meant to be accessed directly" or something by the text of that. Can you help me fix this? |

I am trying to get the genres to show in vbadvanced. Everything is working fine on our test board. In the wikis you state
"By default, the ldm_hot and ldm_new modules do not show the name of the category in which the entries appear. If you want to display this, edit the modules and change $show_catname to 1 " I can not find that code in either file. Is there a certain spot i need to add this too? |
Quote:
As far as I can tell, it's straightforward to patch the change back into 2.2.5. I attach the two vba module files from 2.2.6 (the assignment to show_catname is on line 10 of the two files), and give below the modified version of the links_vbalinks template. Code:

It happens after I click "submit" and the ajax form shows up with please wait or something (the text) then the page local_link_actions.php loads with the text "this page is not supposed to be accessed directly". And that's what happens. |
