drop down selection

IE say iv uploaded 400 games but i do not want to "install them all" at one time

so a drop down box would be nice and within the drop down you would have numbers

IE 10 ,20,30,40,50 etc when u make a selection
IE say i select 30 this will auto select 30 games to install

that way it wont cause too much server load and you can select the amount of games you wish to install at a time

I think it's unfair that your score is posted in tournaments
if your opponent hasn't played yet

Suggestion: Hide your Score until your Opponent plays his/her turn

Because, there are games (like poker/casino games) where you can submit your score whenever you want, so knowing your opponent score it's unfair

Heres my suggestion: (if not already suggested)

Game Challenges, not a Tournament, but Challenge...
I have seen this on other IPB Arcades and is a fun way to play.

The idea of the challenge is much like a tournament, but doesn't require a set ammount of players to start.

The Challenge will be set to a certain game, like a tournament, and then all the players of the arcade can play, the challenge can be set to a specified time limit before it ends, IE: 7 days to play, 30 days to play etc.

Each player will be allowed a certain number of tries during this time period, say a total of 10 trys within the set time frame to try and reach the best score possible. (it should be up the the challenge creator to decide how many trys each player gets)

At the end of the time frame the player with the best score wins.... and is rewarded points.

Basiclly the Challenge does not require a set number of players to begin, and does not have a set numbers of days to play before being disqualified and allows anyone to play.

Its basiclly an open Tournament, but seeing as it is different from the Tournament is should be called something different, so I thought Game Challenge would be nice.

There's just ONE suggestion I'd like to make that I feel is actually most important.

This mod should use the same vb style coding i.e. all validated XHTML should be in templates and NOT in php files.

That is the only thing I wish for.

vBulletin should make the user's post count a reflection of the their historical post count, including all posts that have been deleted, not a reflection of how many of their posts remain in the database. I keep my forum pruned keep only threads with replies within the past three months so this is constantly affecting users post counts, making the post counts almost useless as an indicator of how much a person has posted. This mod solves this problem though. Thank you.

That's pretty much something updated every upgrade. They'll always find a way to circumvent the system.

I would like to be able to reverse disqualification in a tournament, and add 6 as an option for tournament play. Sometimes 8 is too many and the wait is long, and 4 is too little...

How about adding the option for admins to change the number of tournament players? Some tournaments just don't fill up, or not fast enough, and there's no option to make them smaller. For us, at least, this would be a very welcome feature so we could tidy up some of the 8-person tournaments that are never likely to get enough players and change them into 4-person ones that already are full, or would only take kicking one or two people out

I second the above suggestion too, these two would go hand in hand.

Some cosmetic improvements would be nice:

Instead of: actual Highscore Champion
Have: Actual High-Score Champion

Instead of: best Score of all Time
Have: Best Score of All-Time

Instead of: personal best Score
Have: Personal Best Score

And so on...there's tons of these little things that make it look less professional.

They were like that in previous versions, somehow it was changed in the latest version.


You can easily edit those yourself though, they are located in lang_en.php file. ;)

To have a arcade point system
1. Costs xx to play a game
2. You get xx back if your on the score leaderboards etc :)

Just wondering if there was a way of adding the ability to use vbcredits with the arcade (sorry if this has already been memtioned, i gotta go bed for work tomorrow morning so couldnt read them all,

So yeh my idea was making it so that the "credits" you have, you can use in the game.. E.g. Roulette or slots, loads your credits into the game and you can gamble with them, then whatever you win or lose, you win or lose in credits...

I dont know whether thats possible or whether you actually have to edit the game files...

Also, i was wondering again, if there could be an intergration with vbcredits, but maybe when you get a "High" score, you get that score back in extra credits.. Or a Percentage, or a fixed ammount etc.

MrZeropage, I just Found what Perhaps is a Bug, or perhaps an Option to be Added for Next Update, or Perhaps an Option I haven't Found/Set.

When an User Breaks Another User's Highscore an PM is Sent to the User Whos Highscore was Beaten; that Mail Should be Sent from an Administrator of the Board to that User, but is Currently Being Sent from the User Who Beated the Highscore (the New Champion). :confused:

Is that Ok? Perhaps I'm Missing Setting an Option? Because I Searched but didn't Found an Option to Set the ID Number of the User (Admin) who Sends the PMs Notifying about the Highscore Beaten. :confused:

Option to display top ten trophy holders instead of just Top 3. Its always the same people in the Top 3. If there were a Top 10 maybe people would play more.

Since this thread is 23 pages long, I am not sure this was requested. I would like the option of being able to select the catagory that a game is put in when installed. Also, I would like a search feature in the admin section. That is the only two things I would like to see added.

Option of adding the awards and tourneys won in the postbit legacy? I use a specific style that only has postbit legacy. It would be great if the option for postbit legacy was available.

It would be great for the code and layout to be separated so the layout is easy to change.

If that's not possible, then at least comment the code to make it easier to move blocks of layout around.

One size doesn't necessarily fit all when it comes to layouts.

I'd like to show x number of games from each category on the front page, with a link to a separate category page, that displays all the games (paginated of course) in that category.

Option to post new high scores as a new thread or comment to thread in forums.

Integration with Connect with Facebook mod, so that new scores are posted to Facebook.

Easier way to import new games.

Option for users to comment on games.

I'd like to see

• sort by time (as well as times) played (both in the arcade and in the admin settings). The stat is there on the games info, it's just not available as a sort option.
  
  
• lists of games viewed in the admin settings to be split over smaller pages, eg. 100 per page. If I view all sorted by date, I have to wait for a page of 1500+ games to load, complete with icons, which is annoying.
  
  
• when importing games, have a customisable default set of options that are applied to them, eg. category, switched on/off, amount of credits to play. I have to set these every time I install new games (by clicking on view all sorted by date, see previous point!)

Just thought of one. A while back I suggested the ability to orient the Game Description/Keys/Etc where we wanted: either to the side or to the top. I also suggested that the skins be moved to the templates instead of in the PHP files so we could customize it more easily.

In line with that, how about an option to orient the description box to the sides or above and below per game? That would mean that in some cases, when the game window is small we could choose to have it the side, whereas if it's a wide or large screen game we could choose to have it below.

Has there been any talk of a new version coming out?

Better Tournament System....the tournament system has a lot of bugs...

Please implement subcategories for games, or tagging for games... that'd make it MUCH easier to categorise them. Subcategories + tags would be great.

Not sure if there's any point to this suggestions thread though, apparently nothing new has been implemented in years. :(

My Suggestions:

1. The "Your Rankings" page MUST be made so it has pagination. Because as it is right now if you have 5000 games installed they will all list on one super long page. The generation of this long list of data cause many people to experience timeout issues and errors.

2. The "Add Game" interface for mass installing needs redesigned!: If a single game out of say 500 games has an error all the installs will fail and the page will time out with an error. You are then stuck clicking install one at a time. A cheat I found is to quickly click on as many install links as possible before the page reloads. I suggest check boxes be included on this page so you can pick what mass actions to perform just like when you are in the "Game List" page.
