About your suggestion, I just used the PM method of downloading "exproting messages".

Admin account has nothing to do with that, if you Have set the time period for AJAX, then it should popup for all with no refresh.

That would require a code modifications to the original vb's file, and the buddy list already available in vbulletin has some other use, where if you got someone in your ignore list, you won't be able to see his/her posts, and they won't be able to PM you, I didn't want my Pager hack to have such thing, but uses it's own lists.

You sure you did all the template edits to the correct style?

It says 2 unread now because he got another one. If I look into my send box it also says the message I sent him is unread.
He said he can open the inbox but it's empty then.

UAE I have a small problem and I hope you can help me with this.
I have all so installed the vbshout from ZeroTollerance and I have now a conflict. If I am on forum home and get a pager message, which is popping up over the shoutbox it does not hide a part of the shoutbox, see attachment.

Is he using the latest browsers? can you check what browser he's using?

You can always drag the pager box and move it around, just drag the upper side of the table, and move the box with your mouse!

EVERYTHING works except the "send xxx a pager message" in the view member info...I've looked at the template and it's not there. All I need is the code to put in that template.

Nevermind I found it. Will you be adding sound to this? That would help notify people when a message was sent.

like I said vbpager pops up for my testers account on his computer. I have a mac and safari on os x. I wonder if vb pager isnt mac browser friendly? Because it never pops up for me. By the way I recommend 30 seconds or higher on the ajax refresh for this vb pager script. VB pager was the result of some high server loads and hanging if it was set to below 30 seconds with enough users on.

OK...seems to have installed fine, but is giving me many hassles. I installed it on my test forum first, thank God.

1st problem: Each time I try to access a page, I get a security message (see attachment)

2nd Problem: It opens a window and tells me I am not logged in, even though I am logged into the board. (Yes, I edited registered users group and admin group and gave permission to use VBPager, and I edited the settings.) When I log in, it opens the window and I clicked a username to send a pager to. It again gives me the security message, and if I tell it to proceed, it gives me this message:

As I said, install worked fine, it's only trying to actually use the pager that brings up these problems.

My members are drooling for this feature, so any help would be greatly appreciated getting this working!

OK I have figured out that the errors I previously posted about were exclusive to this computer, it's running Win 2000 Pro and my other 2 computers are using Win 98 SE.

I have the errors figured out, it forces me to login in a window within the main window for some reason. However, it is not allowing me to send pager messages. It will bring up a window with the users name in it, but when I click on the name nothing happens at all. As I said, this is all being done on my testing forum, so it's not occuring on my main forum. But my members are really looking forward to this so I am eagerly anticipating getting this working. I can provide a test login or whatever you may need if you desire.

OK finally got it all worked out, forgot to upload the pager.php file to the main forum directory. Will let you know how it goes once it is tested.

It did increase the server load, but I need to optimize the server anyhow. Oh joy, another thing to learn!

Oh gosh, thanks, I'll try right now to set 30 second or higher (now it's 5 second!!!) of refresing AJAX, maybe because of that my server cpu loads so high!!!

Anyone know how to get it to show up on the quick links section of the home page when using php portals? Currently only on the quick links tab when inside the forum.

OK, I FINALLY have this working on my end, after playing with my Internet Options and security settings to see why it wasn't working. Is there some kind of synopsis of how a user's security settings are supposed to be set in order for this to work? I don't really have time to help each and every member of my forum to configure their security settings and pop-up stoppers and everything else. I have my girlfriend helping me test it from her computer, and the messages are arriving in her inbox, but they are not popping up like they are supposed to. My members are frothing at the mouth waiting for this feature to be installed, but I want to be able to install it without having to be tech support for each and every member. Please help! :nervous:

Had my girlfriend try that on her computer and it didn't work. I also had two AOL users test it out for me and it didn't work for them either. The messages aren't popping up, but they see they have new pager messages and they can download them from the box, but they are not popping up for them. On mine they are. Works fine on my end now, pops up and everything, but no one else can get them to pop up.

Updates are:
1-Out of BETA.
2-Added a new Admin control option: Control the width size of the new received pager message box (For Large Avatars Forums)
3-Added a new Admin / User control option: Enable Sound notification on new received pager message.
4-Style fixed.

To upgrade, Redo the modifyoptions template edit from the README.txt, upload the new file pager_sound.wav from the zip file to your forum dir, and import product-pager.xml (set Allow Overwrite to yes)

seemd it s grate thing..
we installed it.....during test..i found that...

1.W/o send/recv any msg..its shwoing i have 1 unread page.In Inbox no msg at all.
2.When recving..no pop-up comes out....but bellow 18-20" of the forum footer a window appeared with a msg that i have a msg....

thinking abt to remove it....gez vb's defult is the best...least no headach wihh the defult pm system..

ANy one out there? who has used it successfully w/o having any problem??

Same with me. I also enabled it from my options but sound is not working.

1- You will need to enable that from vB Pager Options under ADMINCP
2- You will need to enable that from vB Pager Options under your normal Control Panel.

Please recheck the installation, if still with no luck, send me a PM with a user account to your forum.

Have you ever edited any of the vB Pager templates?
if so, revert any modified vB Pager template, to make sure it's the latest one.

Ι think i ve found a little bug.(i really dont know if this is a bug or the way things should work)

When i right click on "Pager Messages" in forumhome and select "Open in a new tab" in Firefox 1.5 it redirects me to the page i m viewing that moment.If i just click on it then it shows the popup window like normal.

I dont know if anyone noticed that,i m using vbulletin 3.5.3 and Firefox 1.5.

I've tried everything under the sun that I know how to do, and I still can't get it to work. I've had several people test it out and it didn't work for them either. They get the messages, but they aren't instant...the have to download them from the window. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Ok, this mod os craching my IE, I noticed that this happen when some one with avatar selected send me a pager, if some one without avatar send me, I c it good, but if it have avatar, it craches.

What do I need to do to make sure all users have the sound turned on by default?

Well' it's not a bug, I meant to have that page to be opened in a new window with a left click and used a java script for that:
1- Smaller page, no need for all vb's navigation/header and footer.
2- Security reason.
