No need to get snappy my friend, I appretiate the work you do.

I think you misunderstood. If someone does not enter an optional note, it still places default text saying "attatch note text test" in the email. Is it possible so that if someone does not enter the optional text... this does not appear in the email?

I thought it does not appear... At least not on my site.

yah, for some reason it doesn't appear in the text box on the website... but seems to appear in the actual email once sent... at least my installation does this. No big deal, it's really a small matter. :)

akanevsky 12-20-2005 12:20 AM

It WAS yesterday. :)

Bubble #5 12-20-2005 12:24 AM

When is the image verification supposed to appear? All we get is an error message saying that we didn't enter in anything, but no image was ever presented :ermm:

akanevsky 12-20-2005 09:27 AM

Make sure it is on in admincp options. (4th setting)
And that you have GD installed.

Why GD ?
Your hack should use the library specified in vBulletin Options / Image Settings ;)

1.4.0 has an option to disable image verification.

Yes of course we checked these things. GD works fine for registrations. For some reason it's hard to upgrade this hack. Not all templates get updated to the new version. We even uninstalled the entire hack and then installed a fresh 1.4.0 and still it doesn't work. This may have something to do with that one template that didn't get owerwritten like last time, remember?

Could you please either post or PM me a copy of 1.4.0's USERCP_INVITES template? That fixed it last time and seems like it would work now too.

akanevsky 12-20-2005 08:09 PM

It's right in the XML. Just revert the modified version that you have.

Indeed :)

>> Not all templates get updated to the new version.
It's because you have customized them. Hacks need to be able to update their templates, otherwise there may be problems.

Hi!

I don't know if it will be included, but it would be nice if there could be an cron job what will be delete (once a day or maybe hour) the deleted users if the forum will be set to moderate users.

Thnx for doing it :)

Greetings
Hans

This is an inappropriate place to post what you posted.
Please go to Hack Requests.
Thank you.

Post it only here because it regards to your invite system!
Because what I mean was that if one user was invited (by invite system from you) and was deleted by the admin because the registration is moderated there will be standing : Deleted user and I think that will be not removed by your cron jobs!
But I can post it once more also in the hack requets if it will be helpfull!

Greetings
Hans

akanevsky 12-21-2005 06:10 PM

How is it in regards?
Your request is about user management, not about invites themselves.

That's not a "problem". That's how I designed it.

From now on, anyone who asks me anything about MSN/AIM/ZZZ/XXX/W.E will be void support and added to my ignore list. Because I already answered this a couple of times, and said that this feature is not planned.

What makes you think that Psionic has nothing better to do than to add this? You need to formally request it through the Hack Requests section, and then IF anyone wants to make it, and they have the time to make it, they will post it, but Psionic is very busy working on other things right now I'm sure :nervous: Merry Christmas.

No problem Psionic :) I see people snapping their fingers on these boards all the time and telling coders to do this or to do that, as if coders have nothing better to do than to make custom features that only one person would ever use. It's real simple, if people want a certain feature then they can request it in the proper place, but when they 'assume or demand' that the feature be added just for them then that's crossing the line. They probably need to pick up a book and learn how to code and then the world is their oyster :nervous: That's what I'm doing now, I'm learning how to code. Some of it is hard, but some of it is easier than I ever expected. I do love learning about it though. You are a great inspiration Psionic. Have a safe and happy holiday, and thanks for all of your hard work here, a lot of us truly appreciate it :)

Mattikana 12-22-2005 07:33 PM

I came across a weird issue today.. a member on my forum invited a friend.. but another member also invited the same guy.. so he received 2 invites.. and gave the 2nd invite away to someone else.. I don't want that.. :ermm:
so could it be possible to check the mailadress entered in the form if it already has been invited? and also check if the mailadress is not on the banlist ?

No one is 'jumping' on anyone. As far as the 'feature' is concerned Psionic has stated several times in this thread already that he wasn't going to make it, so why keep bugging him about it? Mmmm... time for more eggnog :nervous:

Hi!

That's not the point :) I also know that he has other things to do (I'm also shure!)

I also only make an suggestion for a further release! But his first reaction was: That has nothing to do with the hack!

For that I only make clear what I mean, but I will put it into the Hack section!

Wish you also a beautifull and happy christmas
Greetings out of Munich
Hans

I like it the way it is. Feel free to customize it if you want (edit the HTML in template).

Ok, there is another permission error:

When registration by invite only is set and e-mail confirmation is set. When a user registers an account after following an invite link, and the e-mail confirmation letter is e-mailed to the user, once the user clicks the e-mail verify link, they get a permission error.

Registration on this board is by invitation only.

akanevsky 12-26-2005 03:23 PM
