Can't you do some of the little bits now. We still have things like the Hottest Hacks for vb3 and vb2 (!), but no vb3.5, surely you could swap the vb2 version for a 3.5 version pretty quickly (template edit, and change the forums it scans ?).

admit it you just wanted to be on top of the list :p

Looking forward to seeing Vb.org 3.5! :)

I'm sure you have lots of porting to do, mainly the hack system. Good luck!

Because we are nostalgic, we are going to downgrade to version 2.2.6. Now to find that ZIP file of mine...

Darkwaltz4 11-01-2005 04:28 AM

why stop there? :-p im sure you could find a 2.0.3 somewhere, im pretty sure i still have the original package we got waaaaay in the beginning, it was 2.0.6 :D
it would make an excellent and horrifying april fools joke if you ask me, although it WAS halloween, so maybe you could bank on the whole 'horrifying' part :-p

Actually vB.org has a duty to be on top of all code changes -- and in sync with vB.com. It's THE site for modders and stylists, THE front door for what isn't vB.com proper (with it's default skins/features).

It needs to be an inspiration and one that shows what modders and forum designers can do like nowhere else.

So yes, because the very nature of vB.org, folks here need to speak up and remind the staff -- where's the new vB version on this site? And when are you going to update the styles, too? Because you know even visitors hitting the frontpage will know the version isn't the same!

There are very few cosmestic changes between 3.0 and 3.5 - So "visitors hitting the frontpage" may be none-the-wiser ;)

Most 3.5 features are administration or posting enhancements, nothing more:)

As for our "duty" to upgrade - There are alot of modifications that people from this site want, and that this site needs to function - These are custom code that need to be re-written for this version, and that takes time :)
