VERSION 1.1 UPDATE: Added the optional ability to allow users to create their own auction sites using the easy-auction site generator ezauctgn.zip script.
Download the attached ezauctgn.zip file to allow your users to create their own individualized auction sites that you host! the Easy Auction Site Generator - uses EveryAuction from EverySoft to offer Auction Site Hosting, modified with more features and abilities. After you install this script at your site, you offer your guests the ability to create their own Auction Sites. Then link the template iframe to your easy auction site generator (be sure to follow the instructions enclosed in that zip file on which files to edit and how to edit them). Each auction site can be tailored and the owner may specify the following:
1. Edit $config{"basepath"} = to show where the base path is for your script. Leave /$sitedir/ included. 2. If you add or remove categories from the catlist.txt you need to change these to be the same in ezauct.pl 3. Edit your $config{'mailprog'} to show where send mail is on your server. 4. Edit $config{'admin_address'} to YOUR email address 5. Edit $config{'scripturl'} to show where the url for ezauct.pl is. Leave ?sitedir=$sitedir included. 6. Edit $config{'sitename'} to the name of your Auction Service 7. Where you see the line $config{'footer'}=<<"EOF"; Between this line and EOF edit this footer to put banner advertisements in there and to link back to your Free auction service. 8. Search ezauct.pl in all instances for cam2.gif and buyit.gif and change the url to where you put the images on your server 9. In Sub: New Registration find all instances where it says RootsSearch.net and change it to your service name. 10. Upload helppost.html into the base directory where user pages would be created. Now in print footer change the url to where your Help Posting html file is. 11. Edit the auction template iframe to point to your new easy auction site. Chmod all of the cgi files to 755 and that should be it! Owner & Auction Features

Hummm,
I have done everything as written in the instructions, but when I go to the finished article, it just all shows up as code incased in the template you have written. I definetly have perl 5.8 on my server, everything is CHMOD'ed correctly and files that need to be in the cgi-bin are there. I'm not sure of the ways of perl, so I amn't very good at problem solving with it, sorry. |
yoyoyoyo, please can you tell me when we can expect the 3.5 version?
