More ... demo

award request form and result as a post in some forum.

Let me know if you like it or not. I will consider adding to a later release :)

Yes - it looks very very nice. :nervous:

My personal preferece would be if other people could request awards for a member, rather than the member requesting an award for themselves.

That's why you need to fill in "Recipient username"

What I am considering here is, what information I need to ask in the form

Right now, I just ask for (fullname - as reference), recipient username, and reason. should that be enough?

If you are really going to get into the "awards nomination" add-on, some points to consider:

1. Award nomination periods. Either by specifying an active nomination period or simply an "on and off" button to activate the nomination option. For example, assume you have a monthly award given out to the member with the most votes. I know as an admin I don't want to see these vote things in my mailbox every day for every month of the year. I would simply specify the dates I want the nominations to begin and the option to vote would become available. For a more inelegant solution, a simple "on and off" button would work.

2. Results tallying. All these nominations should be automatically tallied so I don't have to keep track of who gets so many votes and for which award (if awarding different awards during the same nomination period).

3. One nomination per member, per event. Fairly self-explanatory there. Similar to how the VBulletin polling system handles voting fraud by only allowing you to vote once.

I dont really "get into" the awards request/nomination much, but will consider doing it. yeah, "nomination" is a much better word than request :D, as of considering "award"

I'll put a on-off button for this.

Rightnow, I just had that request posting to a thread. for function, have to create a database. some information would be something like:
ID - award-ID - recipient - from - reason - time (and approved check for admin)
need also a seach on awards based on time, recipient

hmm, means checking award_id and userid during that time ...

:squareeyed: alot of work here. ok, will get into detail when I work on it, for future release. Thanks dssart

*btw, did you install/click install? :D

dssart 04-06-2005 09:08 PM

Actually I was going to wait until the next release..or should I just go ahead and install it now?

up to you, maybe you should go ahead and install, since it's gonna take a while until the next one. I have some other work to do.
