sorry but still do not understand
I tried to put 200 in Target Activity and 50 in Activity Target: Minimum Points to have very high percentage do not but after midnight the value is set to 4 and the percentages become 6789.39% :-( Why? |
Please increase the Activity Target: Minimum Points to an even higher number, and keep doing so until the percentages normalise.

I tried to put 300 in Target Activity
and 150 in Activity Target: Minimum Points but after midnight the value Target Activity is set automatically to 1 and the percentage, highest: 35.542.86% :-( |
You're not supposed to change the Target Activity yourself, that's only for testing purposes - namely what you want to try to get the Activity Target: Minimum Points to become.

sorry but I did not understand what to do.
Can you explain? thanks and sorry again |
I must say this confused me at first as well.
Like the other poster I wanted to put in a fixed number of posts, say 20, and then gauge a user's activity from that. If I saw as user with 50% I knew he made 10 posts, a user with 10% only had 2 posts and so on. The system seems to sum all posts and calculate an average number of posts and set this as the new daily target. A good idea at first glance as posters constantly exceeding 100% will raise tomorrows target a little and by extension put a upward pressure on all posters to keep up and achieve 100% or more. In theory this would benefit the forum immensely. I fear the practice is somewhat different. If the general trend is for fewer posts that target drops to a new lower average and this in turn could lead to a gradual downward spiral with posters thinking that they are achieving, say 95%, of the target and settling for that. It still has merit as posters may be encouraged if they see themselves achieving over a 100% but I'm a bit pessimistic about that. Perhaps an option to have either a fixed target or a daily recalculated target would be a good idea? |
- vBActivity v2.1.7:
Change: Remove "Requestable / Nominatable" from Award areas in Lite, as these features are Pro only Change: Major performance increase on pages like Activity Feed Fillip |
vBActivity v2.1.8
* Feature: Added an option to disable the "Activity Feed" page. This is recommended for large forums (10,000+ members, 500,000+ posts) as database servers have a hard time coping with a "points log" table that large. Fillip |
