if i worked with joomla im sure i would be able to see whats on and what not....same as when u use any system - like here on vB if u ask people who have been around how to add a custom page, they will be able to tell u

but if u ask an outsider he will probably think its a huge task..

same way in joomla really - making components and mambots etc etc all have specific guidelines, all u have to do is follow the convention and add ur custom code in there

my main point is that if this guy had coded these things from scratch and was selling them, then i would applaud him for this great work.
but the fact is he took someone elses work, and made it 'workable' with joomla, thats all. Thats why I am against it really.

FYI I have joomla installed on my site, I paid for this hack like everyone else. I was impressed by the interaction it provided, allowing you to pick and choose which content to include in the slideshow, or to even add outside articles.

Vbulletin being my main site I decided to port it. The only difference between his and mine, mine is fully automated, where as his you must select from joomla's content, in a convenient manner.

After I ported it, I requested and was given permission by vb.org to share it here. I don't make a dime out of it and I will not allow someone to call someone I know and respect a thief.

I have tons of nice mods on my site and was getting ready to release them little by little. Really guys like you turn coders off.

Any way to limit the queries on this--maybe a cache of some sort? If I display 8 articles, it adds 8 queries.

solution : go to slideshow.php -> edit $forumid=array(xx); -> place the id of the forum you want to pull from.
then , go to the forum you want to pull from, add an image by using html or the attachment system.
you should see the image on the cmps page(s)

side note: for those who have the ignorance and claim he is making money. what DOES or how DOES this matter?!! As we all see, he made the modifcation for the community. By claiming his is making money, you are only showing how ignorant you are rather than thanking him for time spent on making this hack then releasing it to the COMMUNITY. isn't that what matters? helping out the community?!

yes it does matter because this is like taking all the vB mods and then modifying them for use with IPB or PHPBB and then selling them

Who is the thief? You took the guy's code, removed his copyrights and posted a pirated copy on another site and I had to remove my mod. Little moron like you don't even realize that part of my code is from his code and that I am using with permissions.
