Good idea. I can link it to the permission. Just a small icon on the balloon for those usergroups that have the right to do so. Or maybe a small menu.

Is it possible to set it so that people can edit their own posts but not everyone else's. When people make a mistake I have to delete or fix it but if I set it to let registered users edit entries they are then able to edit everyones.

The datamodel (table) should support it.

Normally the permissions are set on a usergroup level.

I thought that that should be sufficient if you allow mods or a special group edit rights and only admin delete rights.

But if a majority feels like a user should be able to edit their own entries.

This isn't really a userbased application. At least it's not intended to be one.

Hi Stonyarc - another great product.

I am experiencing a basic issue though - I cannot add any entries. When I click on "Insert the information" - it gives me the "redirecting to main googlemap page", but there are no markers added. I had filled in all the information.

There are no errors in any of the logs - so cannot figure out how to resolve this. All usergroup permissions have been double checked.

Is there some way to enable debugging?

Thanks,

UPDATE - I have just enabled the "Auto-approve additions" and this has now started working. Is this essentially an ON-OFF toggle?

Ben

This is just an option in place so that when you enable all user entry you'll have an approval process in the admincp.

Also when you want to do something special (showing only a certain type for a certain period) you can just take some stuff offline without deleting it

It's all in the features.

For my site it is a user based function. My site is for open canoers and this map is used for members to mark the location of river access points and places of interest in their area.

Still a great hack and does pretty much everything I could ask it would just save on admin time if users could fix their own entries. After a while they will probably make less mistakes anyway ;)
