I've installed the lite version (to trial) and despite being an administrator and ensuring the admin usergroup has is a vbshout moderator (or similar) set to yes - I can't see the box while it's disabled :/
I'm pretty sure that wasn't a pro-only feature? Is something wrong here? |
Disabling the instance will still hide it.
However, the Active switch in vBulletin Options is what you will still see even if you have the Is Shoutbox Manager permission :) Fillip |
Thanks for the swift reply and yeah, even with the instance enabled - I can't see the box when I disable it through the options beneath which it says "Shoutbox Managers will still be able to access the shoutbox."
Should I try reimporting the product? |
Are you sure you gave yourself the "Is Shoutbox Manager" usergroup permission via the Usergroup Management screen?
Fillip |
100% Sure - I've worked around it by setting every usergroup except admins to (unable to view the instance) while the system itself is active/on.
EDIT: Wow... Another problem (or is this intentional?) When I click 'bold' in the shoutbox all my previous messages go bold, not just the one I'm typing. Or is this an option somewhere? |

Any change to font name, bold, italics, underline, color updates all of my posts not just the current one. |
That is working as intended :)
All previous shouts are supposed to change :) Fillip |
I installed this mod on the board, but only 2 people are able to use it...Me in a superadmin account I created when I installed VB, and another admin. I am the co-owner of the board and have all my permissions set to yes. When I log into my normal account, the box isn't there. Is there a separate place where I'm supposed to set permissions for these? I don't see them on usergroup permissions. And I'm pretty sure that I installed it from my regular account and then it said I lacked the proper permissions even with everything turned on

Did you check the Instance Management permissions as well?
Fillip |
I'm not sure if I did...jog my memory, Where would I go to check that?
