EDIT: actually, i'm getting that error when trying to view any arcade function, period.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

So looking at that path, it appears you do NOT have a /forum/ directory? Because your arcade is in the root of your website and not in your forum's root. That being that your forum isn't in the root of your site.

DoB Rhapsody 09-15-2007 05:39 PM

*sigh* My forum is in the root directory.

BTW, I just upgraded to the new version and it worked fine for a few hours, then the error came back!

Ho, i like ibPro a lot ... but we just tested the tournament mode and it looked heavy bugged!

First problems were that ibPro says a player has played 2/2 (we made 2 tries), when the player just had started his second try. But ibPro thought he'd be finished and showed his opponent in the next round! Well if one of those two had finally advanced to the next round this player was supposed to play against himself in semi final - at least it was shown that way.

Just for a test one of us suspended a player, who was waiting in semifinal ... well, this mixed anything up as you can see on the screen. The suspended players succeeded to the final, although his opponent in semifinal has not played out ... but one player of the other semifinal replaced him, so the other player was present in both semifinals.

Anyway ... the player who advanced into the final against the suspended player hadn't any chance to win ...

dunno if this all was just messed up due this suspending stuff, but if so, there should definitely be a option in ACP to disable suspending players ... !

Is there a way for a member to rate a game, but not have to add it to their favorites in order to do so first?

cache 09-17-2007 04:13 AM

somehow, sine that time, every game I install there is this error message. So this may
not be particular game. Am I the only person who has this problem?

2 things.

1. Use the support forum section for support on the arcade.
2. These are issues with the games themselves. Certain games when compiled by whomever compiled them to work, sometimes didn't make them truely universal. You'll find probably maybe 1 or 2 per 100 games are goofed and unusable.

FYI, a way around those goofed games is sometimes placing all the files in their proper location instead of using the automatic un-taring function and installing them manually. Info on how to do that if you don't know can be found in the support forums. Link is in the "creation post" of this thread.

(This forum section is about the arcade platform. Which is a platform to run games created by others all around the world. The creator of this arcade isn't responsible for or have much knowledge of what games are out there and who is making them and if they work or not. He just maintains the script that makes it possible to play these games. The working games that is.)

MortysTW 09-17-2007 12:13 PM

Please re-read #1 of what I wrote that YOU even quoted. Please do not reply. Just go to the support forums and start a new thread with full details of what arcade, vbulletin, and anything else you have and versions you are running. Possibly even some server information. You will receive help there if you ask for help.

I have been told that this mod consumes a lot of bandwidth. Is this true?

Osterling 09-17-2007 10:52 PM

Where do you find games to add?

DoB Rhapsody 09-18-2007 07:03 AM

I'm a getting a particular error on like 56 of functions/functions.php.

I'll re-up all the files again and the problem will be fixed. Only for a similar error to appear a few hours to a day later.

ERROR:
Code:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ';' in ******/arcade/functions/functions.php on line 59
Sometimes it's a forward slash instead of the semi-colon.

PLEASE HELP. The only thing i can do is keep re-uping the files for a few hour fix. This problem appeared randomly last week. I'm running the lastest version of the mod aswell as vbcredits integration mod.

And small children too!

Yes. It eats bandwidth. But its not the mod itself, its the fact that you have files on your server of various sizes that are your individual GAMES and everytime someone plays a game, those files get loaded.

Its no different than a stack of video files. Everytime someone watches a video, your bandwidth is being "eaten" and you must protect your small children.

But the code itself isn't to be concerned with. It was made with German technology. Just look at the VW Jetta and the GT. Stylish, sleek, and handles well. Please visit www.VW.com today to schedule a test drive at a dealership near you.

So, the only thing you are "re-up'n" is the actual functions.php file? Not the product.xml file?

Cuz in no way should your functions.php file be allowed to be "written" to where it would be altering every few hours. Unless you've been hacked and their is some weird Cron job going on that keeps tweaking that file.

But if you are doing the product too, I'm guessing its a "scheduled event" in your AdminCP>Scheduling & Maintance (SOMETHING LIKE THAT)

Its at the very bottom.

Turn off that CREDITS mod for a few hours and see what happens. Might not hurt to check just for the hell of it that you don't have any users with a ; or a / in their username.

I said turn OFF not uninstall. You can just DISABLE any mod/plugin/product that is running on your VB without deleting or removing it.

Uninstalling works too though I guess. Just more work than needed.

Try doing the full path in your hook's code snippit. Because the arcade has a bunch of itself in /forum/arcade/whatever_page_here.php. I'm guessing your hook has something like ./whatever.php instead of /home/mysite/html/forum/whatever.php

I have a question for Mr Zero

I have 3 types of visitors that are allowed to play games

- Guest - Play games in categories X and Y, not allowed to save score
- Members - Play games in categories X and Y, can save score
- Sponsor Members - Play games in categories X, Y and Premium categories, can save scores

When a guest or a member clicks a game belonging to the Premium category they get the message "Your usergroup is not allowed to play any game from that category"

Would it be possible to change that message to something like " Only Sponsor Members have access to Premium games. To become a Sponsor or to learn more Click Here"

Many Thanks for a Superb Mod

PS To everyone who has this MOD installed please sponsor the author !

I'm not him, but open up the file /forums/arcade/lang/lang_Arcade_en.php

Take notice to the _EN at the end of the file, cuz the lang_Arcade.php file is for a whole other set of phrases.

Around line 184 you will find:
Quote:

err_category => "Your usergroup is not allowed to play any game from that category.",
Just make sure you don't use any words like DON'T CAN'T WON'T, the ' will goof things up. Make sure to leave the " on the front and end too and do not remove the comma on the very very end. So basically just edit the words in between the " "

Not positive, but when you are doing your link at the end or any type of HTML that needs a pair of " " around it, such as src="http sorta thing, make it with a single so it looks more like < src = ' http url goes here ' and target = '_blank ' > type of setup

Let us know how that works out, because I'm unable to test it here at work since my site is banned from my company's internet access.

I am not real clear on what my forum root directory is and what my forum root folder is. I know I will get some laughs and thats all good but some help would be cool too. Thanks

I uploaded this onto my vBul and it works not a problem. Thank you so much.

Where would I get extra games for this?

Instructions that come with arcade say:

Start off by uploading all the files needed.

The entire /arcade folder to your forum's root directory
The files in the /admincp folder to your forum's /admincp folder
The files in the /includes/xml folder in your forum's /includes/xml (create if not existing) - those files are needed for a later Upgrade to vBulletin 3.5.0
arcade.php and holdsession.php to your forum's root folder
installer.php to your forum's root folder

Next Chmod the /arcade/ directory and all its subfolders to 0777

Next run the installer.php from the root directory.
After the Installer is finished, remove the installer.php from your server.

When they talk about ROOT, think of a tree, and the roots are at the bottom and everything goes up and branches out from there.

So your SITE root would be the very bottom. If you were to think web page address, it would be www.yoursite.com. And when they say your FORUM's ROOT, it would be like you had another tree called FORUM. So the address of your forum ROOT would be yoursite.com/forum/. If they said ARCADE ROOT, that would be at yoursite.com/forum/arcade/. Make sense?

Now when you say you "tried to install", what part went wrong that made it a TRY and not a success? The line about run the installer.php from the root directory is referring to you placing that installer.php at yoursite.com/forum/installer.php. Just like you would have done with your arcade.php and holdseesion.php.

So basically everything if looking at addresses would look like:
site.com/forum/arcade.php
site.com/forum/holdsession.php
site.com/forum/arcade/
site.com/forum/admincp
site.com/forum/includes/xml

If you placed everything correctly, to run the installer, you need to go to yoursite.com/forum/installer.php and follow the steps.

Good luck and being that you are new, please use the support forums from now on. Not this thread. The link is in giant green text in the description of this mod at the top of the page.

Hello,

I downloaded and installed this game, it works fine, but it sends no scores, because I don't find any submit button or anything else.

This is the game:

Can anybody help me?

I dont think that you will find the answer here as this thread is for the Arcade Mod and not for any games that you download/aquire.

However:
The Arcade mod contains a file called PNflashgames.txt that says
ibProArcade is compatible to PNflashgames, some information about it:

> download the games at www.pnflashgames.com in POSTNUKE format
> PNflashgames can submit their score and play again without reloading the page or going back to ibProArcade

to install a PNflahgames-Game, do the following:

1) locally unzip the archive
2) upload the .swf-file to /arcade
3) create two .gif-files (gamename1.gif and gamename2.gif) based on the .gif provided with the game
4) upload the two .gif-files to /arcade/images/
5) enter AdminCP -> Arcade -> Add Game and manually add it (using the first upper section)

If you are looking for more games search Google for "vbulletin games"

Hope this helps

Regards

Hello,

I did it like this way in the txt-file.

And it seems to work fine in the arcade, but it doesn't submit the score, that's the only thing...

Nice greetings,

You'll find that on alot of pn-flash games. Its not the fault of this mod, its the way the game was built. I personally created a category for games that "don't work but are playable" in my arcade. Simply to play but don't expect any score keeping sorta thing.

We can't help you. Its a bad game. Not your file, but the actual game itself.

PS. Vinyl, I'm not ignoring you. Trying to find time to play around a bit and troubleshoot. :D

gspot04 09-23-2007 12:06 AM

I just uploaded the hack. Everything works fine, except it's not keeping a record of my scores. Any ideas?

MrZeropage 09-23-2007 07:15 AM

@gspot04:
1) use the support-forum (link above and in my signature)
2) click INSTALL ;)
3) I guess you have a portal and not read the included instructions "vbadvanced and other portals.txt" ...

The Tournaments are behaving strangely. They are eliminating random people for no reason, and not allowing people to advance forward in the tournament? Did anyone else have this problem?
