OMG! WIth no respect. You are a jerk! How dare you chastise something you are getting for FREE! These coders are NOT at your beck and call and you should be damn grateful you get this stuff for free and aren't paying a ton of money for special coding. I've very pleased and VERY grateful for all the free mods here and you should be TOO! TAKER! If you cannnot handle the technical aspects of things, don't download them. I don't. And if there is a problem, try being a a adult about it perhaps:mad:

[QUOTE=Saviour;1690616]Like I said, no support...

One example: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=134

Nobody ever even bothered to answer this person's question.

Apparently, you're the jerk...because you failed to read and/or understand the whole post...

I quote myself:

Quote:

When a coder submits a mod...and this mod does what it says it's going to do...and they supply the support they said they would when they submitted the mod...I make sure that coder gets the credit and the praise they deserve.
So...how dare you tell me to "be an adult"...

I downloaded and installed this mod...and came a cross a few problems with it...just like everyone else..."bugs"...that have still not been addressed.

If you have this chatbox unavailable to guests...and they click the link in the navbar...they're taken to smiley descriptions. Like I said, "bug" and it still hasn't been addressed.

I stated I installed this mod...and uninstalled it due to the fact there are several bugs that haven't been addressed. I'm entitled to my opinion and I've expressed it...and have subsequently uninstalled this mod.

Now why don't you go back through the 50+ pages of questions and reply to those who have uninstalled this mod for the same reasons...with the same sort of reply you have given me.

Cybernetic has some great mods...that's a gimme. I have another of his mods installed with no complaints. I'm not knocking the coder...just the lack of support for the mod...

So why don't you lay off the coffee for a while...and chill.

When and if the bugs are fixed for this mod...it may in fact be worth paying for...and I probably would, too.

BTW...24 hours is ample time to wait for a reply to a support question, regardless of what day of the year it is.

For a free mod made in the author's spare time? It's not unusual for support to take days, even weeks. Sickness, vacation, family needs, work demands, all kinds of things can throw response time up in the air.

Quote:

Also, if someone is going to submit a mod...and not support it...why not state that in the information about the mod.

I grow weary of these excuses that this person, or that person has a lot of mods they've created...and might not have the time to get around to supporting them all. My answer to that is...slow down and only contribute what you can supply support for.

When a coder submits a mod...and this mod does what it says it's going to do...and they supply the support they said they would when they submitted the mod...I make sure that coder gets the credit and the praise they deserve.

Then we have people like you who have to make it a point to interrupt someone's request for support with crap that doesn't even warrant a response.

Was your last post in this thread helpful at all?

I think not! Merry Christmas! Bah-humbug!
Well, technically I didn't interrupt your request for support, since you had already untinsalled the modification and no longer needed it. I was responding to your comment and pointing out something that too many folks on this site seem to be misinformed on.

The excuse is, really, that they need none. There's no expectation that support is supposed to come in any expected time frame. Indeed, it is Christmas, and a fair number of authors on the site are likely not even going to be home for the next week or until the new year. Support is, and always has been at the author's discretion/convenience. This stuff isn't exactly putting food on their table.

I understand, completely...and apologize to you, Digital Jedi...however, sometimes users can get frustrated at the littlest things...yet, I do give credit where credit is due.

Thank you for taking the time to kindly reply to my concerns...

Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas...

I understand, and I hope I didn't go too off topic. I just think it's something that doesn't get said a lot and I'm a stickler against misinformation. Hope you have a good week. Let us know if you reinstall so we can address the actual problem.

WOW!

 Half scared to post now. Go easy on me. LOL

My question is this:
The chat seems to lock up my IE7 browser after using it for several minutes. I switch to FireFox and never have this problem.

I don't mean that the chat locks on loading... or something. It seems to lock my browser completely! I can close it, delete cookies and temp internet files and bring it back up, and it is okay again for awhile.

This only happens when I am in chat for some time.

Any solutions or suggestions?

 I really like this mod because it is so simple.
I don't need or want private rooms, IM's and the like. Just a simple chat like this one is.

But having to close out our browsers (IE), all the time is a bummer for my users and I.

Don't nobody hit me. I come in peace! he he

Merry Christmas to you all!

I've used chatbox with no problems at all. Now i've downloaded the new version, installed it and the result is

Quote:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.
Any clue on what happened? The previous version worked without a glitch...

andreamarucci 12-22-2008 08:24 AM

OMG I forgot that I had the same problem some time ago with 2.2 and I've deleted 2.2 and reinstalled 2.1 that worked. I forgot that :-( Any clue to have back the version 2.1? Thanks

andreamarucci 12-22-2008 08:27 AM

Cyb sorry for disturbing you. I've downloaded 2.1 from this thread, installed it and everything is working fine. Any suggestion on why I can't install versions bigger than 2.1?
