thx in advance

This is caused by another vB mod you installed. Line 2359 of /includes/adminfunctions_template.php is a plugin hook location.

What mods are you using?

Any input?

It is totally stable. vBulletin 3.8 isn't that different from 3.7 or 3.6.
The upload problems, which is the most common "bug", is a server configuration problem.

Hi guys, Thanks for a great product.. anyways, i have millions of files to add to the downloads, and where i go to "import", and then put in my directory, im getting this error... #

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Why are banned members showing up as "Top Contributors"?

If there are no top contributors yet, some random users with 0 uploads will be picked. So this problem will solve itself.
You can limit the amount of top contributors in the settings.

Thank you, RS...

Nice mod by the way...absolutely love it!

well really good mod i used , anyway for use multiple upload expect link to file , i dont use my hosting for upload , almost external links ,we need add multiple links (just 2 field : file name and link to file ) , really need help

sorry my bad eng

ChicagoCoin 03-03-2009 07:32 PM

Just wanted to suggest another option (original post 3390) for possible future improvement consideration.

All of my downloads will have images assigned to the file (screen shots) and I'm afraid when this goes live that users won't realize that a additional step is required to add an image. I think it would save time and confusion if the image could be uploaded on the Add Files page along with the file.

Thanks again for this mod!

fragg 03-04-2009 12:28 PM

Does any 1 know how fix this plz when i click on the downloads link in navbar i get 500 internal server error the downloads.php file is set to 777 and the downloads folder is set to same ,And set my user group to be able to see it any help would be great

fragg 03-04-2009 04:23 PM

Ok fixed that i just uploaded the downloads.php through my cpannel rather than using my ftp client then the page loads tidy but i get a message saying The download directory does not exist! at the top of my downloads page but i see the file i added as a test any ideas

THE__DRIFTER 03-05-2009 03:53 PM

I need a bit of clarification.

1.) I want to ftp a group of files into the directory for downloads. Then I obviously want them to show in the download section. I cannot see a concise method to do that.

2.) I had an issue today that I cannot seem to find an explanation for. I do allow files for our members with the extension of .exe If the file name is CoDWaW-1.2-1.3-PatchSetup it does not show the file to be downloaded with the correct name. If I rename it to say c153.exe it works fine. Is this caused by the length of the file name?

We are online gamers that share map files and such and it is far better for us to upload them via ftp to be available for members than to try to direct upload in the forum. I have seen a number of posts stating to recount. Recount what and how exactly? I am a bit new to the methods of Vb so a bit of direction would be most helpful. :)

Black Tiger 03-05-2009 04:10 PM

1.) You can do that by uploading the files and after that, linking to them when adding them with Downloads II. However... you have to put in the correct link and the correct filesizes yourself manually. There is no other way.

2.) For your 2nd question I'm not sure. Is the name CoDWaW-1.2.-1.3-PatchSetup or CoDWaW-1.2.-1.3-PatchSetup.exe? In the first case the extension is too long I guess.
It is possible to use longer filenames, but I think there will be a limit to the length.

THE__DRIFTER 03-06-2009 03:22 AM

1.) Link how?

2.) Yes CoDWaW-1.2.-1.3-PatchSetup.exe

I assume a file name length issue.

obmob 03-06-2009 04:52 PM

Hello! have some questions about this mod.

Is it possible toset a limit per usergroup? I mean that certain groups can download files than others in a daily basis.

Is it possible to add a screenshot, specially if the files are wallpapers?

Is it possible to add multiple files for different wallpapers sizes?

And, how are files organized? Can i organize them by categories and subcategories? Each one with a different folder or subfolder inside a downloads roon folder.

This might be the biggest doubts I have at the moment, thanks. :D

Lyte 03-06-2009 10:49 PM

Good day to you,

I go the my Download page.... click Add from the Nav bar... fill everything out... open up my browser... select a zipped file... hit Add File and then I get this...

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/03/1.bmp

Please advise.

Thanks!

Lyte

Lyte 03-08-2009 09:56 PM

No one? Anyone? :(

I've cleared the cache in my browsers. I get the same error whether it's IE or FF. I do have GARS on the site but I'm not quite clear if GARS is the problem and/or what I need to do to fix it.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Hi, hope someone or the Author can help I have been using this fine for some months now and not one single problem small files and large files, however over the last few days my members are having problems downloading the large files, it seems it will pause for anything upto four minutes after they press the download button. After the wait it goes through the normal routine and starts downloading.

As i said smaller files are fine but the large ones that once downlaoded fine are taking ages to get the save as windows box, any ideas please?
Note i'm running 3.7 vb patch 1 and the 5.0.8 downloads II

Hello,

Can someone a little smarter than me help troubleshoot what's needed to get large files to upload without a security token error?

Reasonable size files ~ 10MB have no problem.

When a 30MB file is tried the vB security token error appears.

This stinks of a php limit but I can't figure out which one.

Uploads on, file sizes are set to 50MB, and memory size to 128MB.

Any thoughts on why large files are a problem?

Any other values you would recommend increasing from a php.ini file?

Redzzand 03-10-2009 10:41 PM

great mod, but i also have this issue. I found a work-around, by importing files, but i could really use a fix for the security token issue with files over 10MB.

I dont have access to the webserver's php.ini file and have added my own to the root of my forum, but still cannot upload big files.

any help would be much appreciated.

When you uploaded to the forum root did the upload size limits go up as reported by the admincp stats when you login?

I don't have have access to test a theory until tonight, but are your attachments stored in the database or in the filesystem? I'm going to change the site over to stored in the filesystem to see if that fixes the problem. If you are the same way and want to try it out let us know how it goes, thanks!

With big files I think it's just easier to upload them to your server via FTP program and then link them. :)

Getting files to upload through the "front door"... the download page... seems the most logical and user friendly way. Why have an "Add" button if you really can't add files that way? Also, I want my staff to help build my Download's data base but don't want them to have FTP access! Eeek!

Mutio 03-12-2009 03:54 PM

First of great thanks for this fantastic plugin!

Now I have two problems for which I'd like to ask for your help:

1) I just recently moved my site to a new server. Where the original link to the forums was www.visual-novels.net/forum the new one is www.visual-novels.net/vb

Now the downloads work fine, however a few internal links are messed up. On the left site http://www.visual-novels.net/vb/downloads.php the categories like Latest Files or Most Popular Files still link to the /forum/ folder. How do I edit them, so that everything links to the new /vb/ folder?

2) Is there a way to add multiple downloads in one entry? For example I have several versions of one file for Windows, Linux, Mac and so on and would like to have the download links all in one entry.

Thanks in advance for your help!

do anyone know how to make this mod supportdownload managersplease....

Hey guys!

The past couple of weeks, I've experienced a problem with this mod. I've asked for help twice but till now, no assistance received yet. In the meantime, I added another problem to my list. Is there anyone who can assist me with these problems because it seems like the system has gone from running perfect to almost not running at all lol.

#1: A staffmember, who is in a custom usergroup called "Trial Mods", can't upload any files. When he adds the file and hits the submit button, he gets the following error:
Code:

"Maximum Upload Limit would be Exceeded by this file. Try a smaller file."
It just suddenly appeared. He was always able to add files but not any more. I don't have this problem and neither do registered members (tested it out myself with a testaccount).

#2: Received a couple of e-mails and PMs from members who get the following error when adding a file:
Code:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions.php(5721) : eval()'d code on line 10

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions.php(5721) : eval()'d code on line 61

I really hope these problems can be fixed soon. I've noticed that members are actually leaving because they can't upload their files to the Downloads Centre.

Thank you in advance for any help given!

I'm getting a Internal Server Error everytime I try to open the downloads page on my site. Also get the Internal Server Error in the Admin CP for everything under downloads except for Settings.

Any help?

----------
EDIT: Well it's working on my site now. But now I still get the Internal Server Errors in the Admin CP.

scrapableowner 03-13-2009 09:25 PM

Okay...I will start by admitting right off that I am not very savvy on working in my server directory.

I uploaded the "upload" folder to /public_html/forum/ on my server.

I installed the product in the Admin for downloads.xml

I changed permissions on the download folder to 777 on my server

But, there is nothing working. Nothing has changed on my vbulletin.

What easy step ( i know it is - ill just hit myself in the forehead now) am I missing?

I appreciate any help!

1. Click the "Update Counters" link at your downloads section. The left side statistics are being cached.

2. This isn't possible at the moment, but probably in the future it will.

1. Did you check the usergroup permissions? The "error" is caused by an upload limit you can set on a per usergroup basis.

2. Line 5721 of /includes/functions.php is the global_complete hook, but DownloadsII isn't using this plugin location. So the PHP warning is caused by another mod.

You will get the security token error when an upload is timing out, which is caused by a PHP server setting. Have a look at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...23&postcount=3 (the vB attachment system will give you the same problem with large files).

Try reuploading all files. This is clearly a problem at your server side :)

Thanks for the quick answer Jelle! Do you have any idea how to find out which mod is causing the problem with DownloadsII? Perhaps good to know for other members as well. I have many mods installed so it will be hard for me to find out if I have to check it manually.

Thanks again for the help!

I have no idea :)
As its name says, the global_complete hook is being used a lot. You can sort plugins on their hook location at the plugin manager. Then find out which of them are using a foreach() function in their PHP code.

BozzaJos 03-14-2009 07:59 PM

Yes Jelle, I thought of that as well and worked it out. The problem was being caused by vBSEO - DownloadsII. It's an add-on for your own mod, re-writing all the downloads to SEF urls. I will contact vBSEO that there is a problem when using it. Truly a shame and hopefully, they will be able to find a fix for it because it's such a good mod. It just shows the url with the downloadtitle in it.

BUT.... the other error message is still present. I mean this one:
"Maximum Upload Limit would be Exceeded by this file. Try a smaller file."

It's really weird because most members don't encounter this problem but only some do. And those members never had a problem because. It just kicked in...

Any idea because it's kind of important that I fix it. My top uploader has this problem and I'm missing quite a few downloads now.

Thanks Jelle! And respect to the Dutch speaking lads! :D

gigaenvy 03-14-2009 08:02 PM

There seems to be a few questions on how to get the Latest Files displayed on another page (template) or in another area in the sidebars. Since this thread is already 35+ pages long, does anyone know if this has been answered?

Is an include needed somewhere or how do we go about using $dpanel_latest_bits in another VB template or page?

I know about VBA and it's working fine for me, but can't figure it out for sections like the sidepanel, header, navbar, footer, etc.

I figured it out by using downloads2.php and taking portions of that code and using it within my homepage cms .php. Just need to clean up some code and integrate with the site design.

how do I fix that?

You are using Internet Explorer?

Tools -> Internet Options? -> Advanced -> Disable Script Debugging

Is this disable option enabled? It's enabled by default normally.

Drakah 03-14-2009 11:11 PM

Yes, using IE. I dont have the box showing to me when it happens, but I did notice it each time I edit a file. Is there something wrong with the code that gives that error?
