I followed your instruction and changed the .htaccess, but opening http://www.mysite.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz does not open the sitemap index. The sitemap index should be accessible from that url right?

Have the bugs been worked out on this?

any idea please
i want to put the entire folder inside /vb/archive/ instead of /vb/ how to make that?? |
My .htaccess at the root is input like this:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L] Is there anything wrong? Do i need a .htaccess for my forum folder too? The instruction didn't state that. |
Alfa1,
sitemap URL is: http://yourforumsroot/sitemap_index.xml.gz forumbust, rewrite rules for vBSEO Sitemap Generator should be entered in .htaccess file in forums folder. |
Yes, this works: http://www.mysite.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz
but google says it needs to be at http://www.mysite.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz |

example below: Code:
