Solved!!!! :DJust copy over the downloads folder from the old url to the new url making sure they are in the same directory structure (chmod 777), then go to the Downloads section of the new url and click "Update Counters"! All the url's will change to the new url location!!!!!!!!!! (this should be publicized if it's not already!) ;)
Now just move theses file to whatever location you want and use the "import" feature! :up:

Been playing with this a bit, I like it so far, but have a couple of questions.

If you remove the text from the "Site Message or Disclaimer", it still shows space to the left of the file list. Can this be inactivated somehow?

Also, when you view the files in a category, it's not XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid. It claims "end tag for "table" which is not finished." Possibly this is related to the "Site Message or Disclaimer" not displaying?

Some of my file names are dates. Is it possible to define the sort order of a file like you can with the categories? Maybe assign a weight to them.

If you try to upload a file and forget to include the file or the link, then it brings you back to the upload page, tells you what to include the file or link, then when you correct the error and submit it, it lists it twice.

Yes you can remove the disclaimer completely, it's in the options. ;)

There isn't an option to disable it, or at least I can't find it.
If you simply delete the text, it still leave space on the left for it.

I don't have any space there...

Question....I am running 3.8.1 version and I noticed a little problem with DownloadsII now.

Normally you can switch between Html & Text Code views when making/editing a post, as per the screenshot in the info of this thread.

Since the update, I am stuck in Text Code view and the Editor Mode button is no longer there :(

How do I get this back?

I see your post there about the .htaccess file but I cant find ANY posts where it has worked for anyone. Is there a solution to this?

I am also one of the many who tried and got the 500 error, breaking the forum till I removed it.

You should add thumbnail layout etc for the vBadvanced module. Would be truly perfect.

The import function does not seem to work? I am point an absolute path to a directory of mp3 files and it will not import.

I still cant get the WYSIWYG editor to show when posting/editing a file. How do I get that back? Is it an option that I am missing that I may have it disabled? It shows fine in normal forums as it should, just not in DL2 section. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? I need this fixed asap.

FIXED:

Apparently I had a setting set that somehow disabled this.

Under Options, look for:

Allow BB Code in Non Forum Specific Areas
Allow users to include BB code in non-forum-specific areas? (Such as [b], [i] etc.)

Make sure that setting is enabled.

When i will search in Download i become a MySQL Fehler..

I found what causing this problem... its mod [AJAX] vB Post Templates 1.5.0 and users who have premade posts cant see description box,other users don't have problem

My 2 wishes still is:

1) To set the download file Date to auto-update itself when a file has been uploaded/updated. Right now, it sticks to the date it was 1st uploaded.

2) To be able to add in additional fields in the download file description, such as "Version:", as well as maybe a section that auto-archives previous version of files with their version number. Now THAT would be super handy.

i installed as you said but after installing i gave usergroup permissions and saved them but after saving i got another usergroup with same name and the options i edited in this havent saved

example: i edited for moderators and save them but after saving i got another usergroup named moderators in custom usergroups and the modifications havent saved in the orginall usergroup

I'm experiencing a couple of problems but perhaps they are just suggestions for future versions, I've been adding links in the description area to related web pages and files and it works fine when viewing the download details but I really need these links to appear on the category pages as well, currently I only see text. I tried using the information from this post 940 and using html but it didn't work.

I also agree with the suggestions quoted below, version numbers and dates updated are very important to my situation and perhaps these other ones are possible but i tried searching.

Would be nice if clicking the thumbnail in category view opened a full-size shot instead of DLing the file.

Definitely could use a "new" option which creates a formatted list much like the sub-section lists. I see you can sort by date within the sub-sections, but showing new files starting with the letter "R" isn't much help. ie: I have a subcategory named Tables, then subcategories of A, B, C...etc., I guess what i'd like is a way to show and sort All files within a Category or subcategory, hope that makes sense.

For those of you that are interested (since I didn't find it here anywhere) in modifying the postbit a bit more than just showing number of uploads and downloads, here's a snippet of code that will only show those if the user has uploaded or downloaded something, and if they have upped something, then it will provide a link to their uploaded files.

This needs to go into downloads_memberinfo_postbit in your templates:

Yeah, I suppose I should have made clear that this info was going to change what is displayed in the user info space on a post (aka the postbit). The link goes to the downloads tab on the poster's profile page.

Having said THAT, it wouldn't be hard to mod the statistics page to show the same info, I just don't need that as I figure if you're already in a profile page, you can click on the downloads tab pretty easily.

Now I have a question... Any one figured out a way to get a thumbnail to show on the Downloads tab in the member profile? Just want the first one, and only one.
