TECK, I'm using VBHL v4.2 and I downloaded the Search Engine Add-on v1.4 for VBHL using the link you provided on the first post of this thread, but when I unzip the file "searchengine_indexer_v14.zip" it's included readmefirst.html file says "Search Engine Indexer Add-On v1.3 for vbHome (lite) 4.0", also it's forum/admin/vbhlarchive.php file says
Code:

$version = '4.0';
I heard that v1.3 will only work with VBHL 4.0, so I'm a little reluctent to install this. I tried empting my browser's cache and that didn't help. I even used a friend's computer and still got the same thing. Could you or someone please help. Thanks in advance.

I did not have the time to update the text... but it's actually the 1.4.. I will post a new attachment in this thread.

Hmmm, I wanted to find out how to create multiple different instances of the VBHL front page on my site, but after reading this huge thread, all of them point to Teckwizards, which is either down or discontinued (tried cpublisher.com too) ...

Care to show how this is done, TECK? Or does anyone know offhand how this is done?

TECK 08-30-2003 09:47 AM

Is not down, read to first post. :)

hmm till now i still have problems in the poll section in the homepage... i already set which section whereby users can poll... but i did a test in these section and post a poll, it does comes out on the homepage.

Does the poll works this way?

1. Select which section of the forum for users to post poll, in admin panel

2. Once users post a thread with a poll in that selected section, poll appears on the homepage?

by the way i can only get the poll working on the homepage by specifying which userid can poll. I rem reading one thread that by placing userid as zero... everyone can vote including guest... but it doesn't seems to be working for me.

TECK 09-02-2003 02:36 PM

I already answered to you. is the HTML code.
Look at the CSS file to identify the border colors.

Blindchild02 09-02-2003 06:09 PM

i dunno how :( im a noob with CSS :\

Logtenberg 09-02-2003 09:50 PM

Two questions,

1. Does the poll feature on vbhome (http://www.avsforum.com/)built into vbhome light? If so, does it take the latest poll and feature it or can the administrator choose what poll to feature?

2. I don't want any copyright and link at the bottom of my page, what do I have to pay to get rid of that?

Alien 09-03-2003 01:46 AM

1. Yes that is built-in. It takes the latest poll in a specific forum (or you can choose to allow any forum) and you can select which userid's who post polls can have them displayed on the front page.

2. Same as vbulletin copyright removal.. Approximately $600...

Does this or any other VB thread archive work with NON-Apache servers? Ours is Compaq Proliant running win2000.

Having difficulty finding anything that would work... Help Please!

TECK 09-03-2003 03:31 AM

The script will work on IIS also, but not the archive add-on.

Hi Teck, to let everyone(members and guests) to poll in the homepage, i set the userid as 0 rite? if so... how come it didn't appear on the homepage... It only appear when i select a specific userid.

by the way... something funny happen... I already change my default template to another template(i have 2 template) but everytime i login from the homepage, its still using the old default template instead of the new one, however, if i login via the forum itself, it will use the new template. Why is this so?

Logtenberg 09-03-2003 05:31 PM

I tried having vbhome used on a folder in my site and not the root:

I get this error:

Warning: main(./forum/admin/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
in /home/heya/public_html/forum/folder/global.php on line 744

I guess there's no vbhome lite version for VB3 is there? I've been looking to see, but I can't find it.

The thing is, I REALLY need VB3 for my project to work, and I really like vbhome, but Im wondering if there's a workaround.

Anyone?

There is a work around... you have to code all files from scratch. ;)

I upgraded my forums to 2.3.2 and now everytime I add a new article on my vbHome site I am forced to run vbhlinstall.php. Teck wanted me to post in here so I am doing so.

Can someone tell me how I can fix this so articles show up on my vbHome site without me having to run vbhlinstall.php everytime?

Thx

Roody, check the newthread.php file to make sure is coded properly. That's where is your error... and make sure you use a good php editor not some crazy software like dreamweaver, etc.

LightBringer 09-04-2003 06:29 PM

TECK, will you be moving this hack to vb3.0 when it's released?
