I have just upgraded to vbulletin 4.2 but am trying to use a style created for 4.1. Everything is working fine, but in the chat box, the images won't load. In firefox I get text instead "Show the formatting buttons line" instead of the BB icon, etc. In I.E. it replaces the icons with a red X and then shows the text following the red x. How can I get the icons to show instead?

EDIT: Never mind. I figured it out. But my icon for my second channel won't show up no matter what I do - for any style, even 4.2 compatible styles. Can't figure that one out.

red x images usually means the images aren't where you think they are, right click inspect element on any image that isn't loading, then ftp and double check that location and see if its there. You will usually have to copy the misc images folder to each new themes misc folder.

You already solved your problem by explaining it. The MGC folder isn't in the custom skin folder.

VBDev is on vacation until Monday. I am on vacation until the 25th (Disney World) so support will limited to user support until Monday.

Just installed! looks great BUT I can not DELETE any chats!

Any help would be much appreciated. If you can help me, I am interested in upgrading.

I'm having a java script issue.

The drop down next to usernames in the chat box doesn't work. The links I am talking about are:

View *USERNAME*'s Profile
View all chats of *USERNAME*
Edit the chat
Remove the chat
Sticky this chat

etc

When I click them nothing happens and they all link to #mgc_cb_ev_top.

They work on the archive page just fine.


I have tried it on a vanilla style in case customizations were causing the issue but that doesn't seem to be it. Thoughts?

That's simple, just edit your usergroup settings in AdminCP.

Actually it does, it's on the bottom left of your page. I'm assuming because you have custom themes. Try it with an UNALTERED default VBulletin theme.

Just got a licensed copy, but i can not figure out how to create channels or to setup private chats. What am i doing wrong here? Help needed please.

It's in the options part of the MGC settings in AdminCP.

Just look through them.

Don't forget to setup usergroup permissions too.
