Did you do the .htaccess entry?
Basically, it tells the incoming request that if the file requested is /root/sitemap_*.xml.gz, to look in /forums/vbseo_sitemap/ for the file. |

Hmm. I am by no means an expert on these things but.. that syntax seems to tell me that you are using a non-Apache webserver, probably a Windows one.
Is that the case? Oleg: Does the Sitemap generator work on IIS boxes? Does bada_bing need to configure it somehow? |

I am able to run the Sitemap generator but it getting the correct link in google is the problem. Yes my site is on an IIS Server |
NeutralizeR,
an automated way is the sitemap index file, which is not working in your non-standard configuration (with root URLs), but will work with vBSEO Sitemap Generator v1.7 trigon, replied to your PM beansbaxter, 1. sitemap reports are accessible in browser: yourforumsroot/vbseo_sitemap/ 2. You should edit .htaccess IF you have .htaccess in your forums root already 3. extra-urls.txt files is located in vbseo_sitemap/ folder David_R, please use the latest version (1.6.1) - this issue has been fixed bada_bing, with IIS server: - if you have ISAPI_Rewrite module installed, use the following rewrite rules: Quote:
http://www.mywebsite.com/vbseo_sitem...temap_1.xml.gz http://www.mywebsite.com/vbseo_sitem...temap_2.xml.gz etc. |

I dont know if the ISAPI_Rewrite module is installed as my site is hosted my my ISP. How can I find that out and is it something they might be ok installing for one customer on a shared server? I will try and manually run the sitemaps as you listed |
